    Wow - reminds me of an acoustic solo gig Dave did in London in the mid 70's - my wife and I had a table just yards away from a very relaxed Crosby who told some anecdotes between songs and treat us all like friends. I met a few rock legends during the 70's, few were so plainly genuine as this man, who retains an enthusiasm for performing and treating us to his still glorious vocals.

    Good thought. It does look a bit like him (younger though), but his voice is a lot different. Plus, at the beginning he's likening being able to sing with David to playing catch with Mickey Mantle, suggesting that he's in awe of such a legend. In reality, Browne was more of a contemporary of David's (being only 7yrs younger), gaining similar acclaim around the time David did. So when the guy in this video says he "grew up listening to this music," it can't really be Browne.

    Wow. A *Private* show featuring * David. Crosby * in someone's *living room*.
    That's def' extremely cool, no doubt...I do wonder how much the host hadda pony up for *That* though.
    And for a fundraiser for someone's kid's school? Good cause! ...But at the same time, why am I getting a disturbing "privileged rich" vibe from this? If you can afford to have DC & a band play at your *house*, (assuming there was a signif' fee) why not just donate the money yourself straight up?
    I'm also curious to know just how hard-up this school could be if kids of the rich are going there.

    • @lastnamefirst4035
      @lastnamefirst4035 4 года назад

      Thats my thought exactly. A party given by the rich for the rich. The school im sure is in the neighborhood so its not fund raising for basic needs. Plus this is the 1st time ever listening to this song it occurs to me how much money csny have made on the kent state tragedy. Its bc a hip thing man that crosby still talks about like it happened yesterday. Im sure none of them contacted or donated to the kids families back then. It makes me sick. The song has nothing to do w the violence thats happening in our country today. Sing and fund raise for that! These people are so out of touch. CSNY have been mega millionaires since their early 20s yet they wanna talk to us about how to live our lives. Fk ya. The socal elites

      @@Yourfood1993 neil w ex wife pegi, had and maybe still does, the bridge school in mountain view, ca and I think he has donated time and money to various projects (farm aid being one) I dont know what stills and nash do these days. Ive no issue w them. Its really only d crosby that I cant stand. Ive friends who worked w him long after his drug days and the guy is such a narcissistic son of a gun. Perhaps he does the constant touring to support his lifestyle, home and family idk. I always thought it was bc he needs constant attention. But the video still made me queasy bc it was a benefit for a rich kids elementary school. Didnt say what. I most certainly dont dislike rich people at all. Wish I was one. It was the "feel" and comments of the video that made me nauseous. I do wish people such as this would pay a little more attention to what goes on in the world outside of SM and Malibu. Eh, maybe they do

      You're crackin' me up here, bro! And I can't disagree! My guess is LOTS of the old guard rock stars are badly out of touch.

      @@Yourfood1993 I forget my name sammy scotch sounds like Iam a guy, but not. Sammy was my kitty for 25 yrs and Scotch was my grand ktty for 12. They are both in cat heaven where jesus feeds them fresh fish everyday. My name is Sue. I forget how I came across the video of the rich people party. I know a group like that in pasedena where "jackson might be stopping by w ry-you know ry cooder" (but ry has never been or believe me I would go) I always say "bill maher comes by my place on fridays" lol Theyre harmless folks I guess and I dont mind them in small and infrequent doses. And they probably feel the same about me. PS I lied about Sammy. He was closer to 21 than 25
