Love this story, and John's passion for capitalism. When we built our business it was with the same belief in value for the customer and the folks that worked for us. We had no "investors" as we sold our house and used the equity to fund the proposition. But we still had many of the same elements John talks about; suppliers who trusted our vision, employees who took the risk of joining a new team, and customers who listened and believed enough to trust us to do them right. So few people appreciate how significant a capitalist approach is to a better life.
I remember that original store on Lamar. I also remember Shoal Creek that runs parallel with that street and right behind the store. That creek has flooded several times. About time you got John on the show-my law client at my former firm! 🤘🤠

Too few people understand probability.
Odds are you're probably right.

John was one of my earliest guests. He's a dear friend.
