The iPhone 5S is quite possibly the best iPhone of all time. It had so much innovation - iOS 7, Touch ID, a 64-bit architecture, and most importantly: the gold color. Anyone still using a 5S? How are you holding up?
I’m still using it and I’m not gonna replace it anytime soon, I love how its design seems modern even 7 years after its release and it’s still going strong, even better with the latest iOS 12 updates, the only bad things are the battery that can’t hold even a day and so I take with me a powerbank every time I know I’m gonna stay outside longer than 5 hours and the camera, even if with good lighting pictures come up pretty darn well. But after that two things it’s pretty awesome considering its age!!
Still got my Gold 5s in original box that I bought in 2013, it lasted me as my main phone up to July 2019 then I got a Galaxy S9 as wanted a bigger display and faster phone, I'm not loyal to ios or android just use what I like to use, anyway my 5s was the best phone I've ever owned and is now Resting in peace in its box lol, I bet in 30 years time it will be worth a fortune 😉👌
5s was the GOAT. 6 iOS updates. It was a memorable one after introducing touch ID (1st gen). Wish for new console related content man! Tried to apply a bit of your style in some of my console reviews.
The 5S was my first phone I got back in December of 2014, and i used it up until November of 2019. I liked to complain about it because i was always looking at the new iPhones as they came out, but the 5S served me well. My biggest complaint was the storage, as i had the 16GB model. I’m ever so thankful for the 128GB iPhone 7 i have now, but the 5S was a great first phone.
N8 Dawg I got a 5c in early 2016, then a 7 plus in late 2016 and now I got a XR i got in mid 2019. Im planning on getting the 11 pro or 2020 budget iphone if it is similar to the 11.
I have the gold one too and even though I upgrade my iphone every few years the 5s is still the only model I have kept because I've never had any issues with it and it's by far my favourite desig!
I still have a 5s, it is getting slow though. Also, the touch ID is not very good. Most of the time it doesn't recognize my finger print, and when it does it takes like 3 whole seconds.

I bought the 5s as a fill in because my XS had been delayed. And apart from the battery (phone itself was 8 years old and the battery about 4) the iPhone performed like a champ. If anything happens to my Xs I’m going to replace the battery on the 5s and will take my time to either fix the XS or if I have to buy an entirely ne phone
This was my iPhone. I still have this phone today but I don’t use it anymore since I have the XS Max and an iPad. My 5s is running one of the last versions of iOS 10 since I was afraid of updating it. I’ve blue screened the phone during the process of updating. But it’s fine now. It will always be one of the most memorable phones I ever had and one of the best too

This has been one of my fav iPhone ever, I still have it and use it sometimes. The last iPhone by Steve Jobs - 5s and still amazing in terms of quality and design. Remember you can touch all 4 corners of the screen with one hand !
The 5s was really the first phone (and the last apple product) I fell in love with. It could play games, make calls, send texts, watch RUclips, take pictures, and much more. It blew my 10 year old mind when I got one handed down to me. I really miss that phone!
When talking about the first time a golden color option was available: remember that space grey was also new back then. I must say that I liked the dark anthracite of the 5 better but space grey is also neat.

Mine was 3G, 3GS, 4s, 5s, 7, 8, and XR. Until I started buying phones on eBay, this is what I had originally. However, out of all those phones, only the 7, 8, and XR remain. All the rest either stopped working or were sold to buy a better condition one. Nowadays, I have iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c, 5s, SE, 7, 8, and XR. The iOS versions that are running on these phones are (in order), iOS 7.1.2, 5.0.1, 7.0.2, 8.0.2, 7.1.1, 13.3, 12.4, 12.4, and 13.3. I also have multiple of the same phone. I have 3 iPhone 5, 2 on 10.3.3 and one on 7.0.2, 2 iPhone 5s one on 12.4 and one on 7.1.1, 2 iPhone 5c one on 8.0.2 and one on 10.3.3. All of these phones mentioned are in new condition and work perfectly. By “New” I mean hardly used, they look new, but they are not technically. The storage sizes vary between most of them being 32GB, a few 16GB, and one of the 5c being 8GB. The 7, 8, and XR are 128GB, 256GB, and 64GB respectively. Edit: forgot about the iPad (6th generation), it is Gold and has 128GB. iOS 12.4. Never used, sits in the corner of my room in its OtterBox case. :/ waste of money yes, also all of these devices have OtterBox cases on them. Only bought it because I got a deal on Amazon. Got it for $300! Less than the 32GB model. I was actually shocked and they were selling fast, so I snagged one up. This was August 2019.
I've been using the 5s since it came out. Never replaced the battery, and it still holds 82% of charge. It's slow but still usable, and have about 2hours+ soc for a single charge. The camera is still reliable by today's standards. I've got an Android recently so I just use the 5s as an iPod-thingy. For now I just use it as an music player and to access the iTunes store.
I have 2 iPhone 5s, one just came back from the service (I damaged the processor by accident while gaming) and the other one just got a home button failure so it's probably over. The other one (from the service) IS really good for me, but as you said, the battery is done, it lasts 2 and a half hours, and it overheats insanely. It crashes on some apps and games, has very bad internet connection, but for now, it's working just fine. I also have an iPad 2 from 2012, and it's still working.
Space Gray was such a sexy color. I loved it. I really love how the matte gray of the metal contrasts with the piano black glass on the top and bottom.
I’ve had a 8gb 5s since 2013. Bought an otter box for it and have only had one battery replacement since I bought it. It’s still works like new has 0 cracks and is in mint condition. May I add that it has a headphone jack unlike the newer models so you can still pass me the aux and rest assured that we gon crank it.
I always thought the design of the space gray iPhone 5S look a lot like the 2G especially with the bare aluminium and black glass bits. I wonder if anyone else feels the same.
I am a senior and went back too a 5s from a 6. The size and weight are the main attractions for me. I don't play games or anything like that. I use the iphone for emails, texting, keepng up to day on the news and updating accounts. It gives me everything the 6 did, and the battery is just fine. I seldom go below 80% in one day. In summary, it's a great little phone and I am more than happy with it.
I used my 5s from Jan 2014 all the way up to December 2019 when I got the iPhone 11, nowadays I use it as a backup/second phone for stuff I don't use my main phone for and it works fantastically, plus it stores my best memories! Definitely the best iPhone ever!
I have been using iPhone 5S for 6 years. The battery is still OK, I always pay attention to not to using it when it is charging. I use my phone more than 5 hours a day on twitter, whatsapp and instagram but it is still alive :) I am planning to change it with a new phone when it is 78 months old. I think a period of 4-6 years is the normal life of a smart phone.
Hey, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Motivated me to break out my old iPhone 5s. Found in the back of a drawer in my ole desk. Plug the old girl into an ole charging brick. Charge the old battery, update installed, played with the outdated iPhone. Much to my surprise everything still works: camera records in 1080-30, takes decent enough videos for its age. thanks again for the refresher, make it a great day.

I am thinking at getting an iPhone 5S today, not for me, but for my Grandmother. She is using a "dumb" phone for something around 4 years and she still has not moved into smartphones beacuse she always said that they are complex and hard to understand for she to use them. I am considering giving she an iPhone 5S beacuse of its size and easiness of use that iOS can provide. 1 - She always said that she dose not feel comfortable at using phones that are bigger than the one that she is currently using 2 - iOS is more easy and understandable for people at her age, when compared to Android. Plus, as it is stuck with iOS 12, she will only need to learn once at how to use the phone, as it wont get any update that will drastically change it.
My Samsung galaxy note 3 came out in 2013 it works fine with 3 gbs of ram a snapdragon 805 at 2.5 and a 13 megapixel camera can do 4k at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps it has a 5.5 inch 1080p display so compare that with a iPhone 5s

I'm still using the iphone 5s since 2014 and I don't think I would be changing phones for maybe a couple of years. If I were to change it i would upgrade to iphone XR.
I decided to use my dad's old iPhone 5S, so i can test out how an iPhone feels (im an android user with a Samsung Galaxy A50) The phone was old, so the batteries were a little weak, but the phone was / is great! Better camera than my Samsung's, better speakers, a better screen (it feels better but its much smaller) and a much better OS. It turned me into an iPhone user.
Used it as my main phone till December last year, it was totally usable for me. But now compared to my current iPhone 11 Pro it’s really slow and buggy but anyways I love the design

For normal daily use, my iphone 5s gold is still great. More than expected. Working side by side with my iphone 11 pro. This one handed phone has light weight and fit to be inside my pocket's shirt. I love it. Indeed the only problemn is its batery life, but anothers functions still great. As an old phone.
I've had my 5S since it came out...still using that same phone ... My husband's Iphone 7 just stopped being able to make or receive calls...I tried to fix it...but no luck....apple support said when IOS 14 is released the 7 should work again....so I jumped on ebay and got him a used 5s for $27 bucks ..popped his sim in and it works great....I wish it was still supported...it's the perfect sized smart phone...Glad to know it's still ok to use even though it can't get IOS 13. Bought three iPhone 5Ss for the kids. They'll be using them as iPods, no cellular data. The kids are 11, 9, and 6. I had one of these when they came out. Loved it. Will replace the batteries (by myself) if they turn out to be super bad. Good review of the phone.
I gave up my iPhone 5s on 2016 because of its screen size is too small for years of standard. I upgraded to iPhone 7 plus and still using the phone today. No problems whatsoever even playing most recent games.
I just started using one today and I have to say that it's much faster than a low end $100 android phone. I had a LG Zone 4 and a TCL A1X. Both phones under $100 and they are very slow. I had an unlocked 5s in my closet, which I replaced the battery and now it runs perfect. 8 years later and it still beats whatever crappy android device you can find. I plan on jailbreaking it soon.

I still use my 5s I bought in 2013. I use it as my Apple TV mostly. I just have it hooked up through the lightning to HDMI adapter to the TV and watch videos from HBO and others. I only stopped having my SIM in it a couple of months ago. iOS 12 is very good on it and they will still issue some updates occasionally for it, got one last month. It is a great phone. If I put the SIM in I can use it as my daily driver and get two days before needing a recharge (battery swapped out two years ago).

The iPhone 5S was so great, Apple didn’t really know what to do with the iPhone 6 in a sense. All the iPhone 6 got was a bigger screen.

I have 2 iPhone 5s, one just came back from the service (I damaged the processor by accident while gaming) and the other one just got a home button failure so it's probably over. The other one (from the service) IS really good for me, but as you said, the battery is done, it lasts 2 and a half hours, and it overheats insanely. It crashes on some apps and games, has very bad internet connection, but for now, it's working just fine. I also have an iPad 2 from 2012, and it's still working.
Space Gray was such a sexy color. I loved it. I really love how the matte gray of the metal contrasts with the piano black glass on the top and bottom.
I’ve had a 8gb 5s since 2013. Bought an otter box for it and have only had one battery replacement since I bought it. It’s still works like new has 0 cracks and is in mint condition. May I add that it has a headphone jack unlike the newer models so you can still pass me the aux and rest assured that we gon crank it.
I always thought the design of the space gray iPhone 5S look a lot like the 2G especially with the bare aluminium and black glass bits. I wonder if anyone else feels the same.

I am a senior and went back too a 5s from a 6. The size and weight are the main attractions for me. I don't play games or anything like that. I use the iphone for emails, texting, keepng up to day on the news and updating accounts. It gives me everything the 6 did, and the battery is just fine. I seldom go below 80% in one day. In summary, it's a great little phone and I am more than happy with it.
My 5s doesn’t get used much, stays on my table. Once in an while, I pick it up and admire it
I used my 5s from Jan 2014 all the way up to December 2019 when I got the iPhone 11, nowadays I use it as a backup/second phone for stuff I don't use my main phone for and it works fantastically, plus it stores my best memories! Definitely the best iPhone ever!
I miss my 5s, so many legendary memories with that phone but I will say that phone broke soooo many times on me. It was still so beautiful
I have been using iPhone 5S for 6 years. The battery is still OK, I always pay attention to not to using it when it is charging. I use my phone more than 5 hours a day on twitter, whatsapp and instagram but it is still alive :) I am planning to change it with a new phone when it is 78 months old. I think a period of 4-6 years is the normal life of a smart phone.

Hey, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Motivated me to break out my old iPhone 5s. Found in the back of a drawer in my ole desk. Plug the old girl into an ole charging brick. Charge the old battery, update installed, played with the outdated iPhone.
Much to my surprise everything still works: camera records in 1080-30, takes decent enough videos for its age. thanks again for the refresher, make it a great day.

I am thinking at getting an iPhone 5S today, not for me, but for my Grandmother. She is using a "dumb" phone for something around 4 years and she still has not moved into smartphones beacuse she always said that they are complex and hard to understand for she to use them. I am considering giving she an iPhone 5S beacuse of its size and easiness of use that iOS can provide. 1 - She always said that she dose not feel comfortable at using phones that are bigger than the one that she is currently using 2 - iOS is more easy and understandable for people at her age, when compared to Android. Plus, as it is stuck with iOS 12, she will only need to learn once at how to use the phone, as it wont get any update that will drastically change it.

My Samsung galaxy note 3 came out in 2013 it works fine with 3 gbs of ram a snapdragon 805 at 2.5 and a 13 megapixel camera can do 4k at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps it has a 5.5 inch 1080p display so compare that with a iPhone 5s

I'm still using the iphone 5s since 2014 and I don't think I would be changing phones for maybe a couple of years. If I were to change it i would upgrade to iphone XR.
I decided to use my dad's old iPhone 5S, so i can test out how an iPhone feels (im an android user with a Samsung Galaxy A50) The phone was old, so the batteries were a little weak, but the phone was / is great! Better camera than my Samsung's, better speakers, a better screen (it feels better but its much smaller) and a much better OS. It turned me into an iPhone user.

I’m still using the iPhone 5s and it is *very* laggy. It heats up so quickly, like I just use it for 5 minutes and it gets so heated up.
It's because the battery the same thing happens to my iPhone 6s plus at 70% battery heath but when I got it replaced it worked fine no heat ups

For normal daily use, my iphone 5s gold is still great. More than expected. Working side by side with my iphone 11 pro. This one handed phone has light weight and fit to be inside my pocket's shirt. I love it.

I've had my 5S since it came out...still using that same phone ... My husband's Iphone 7 just stopped being able to make or receive calls...I tried to fix it...but no luck....apple support said when IOS 14 is released the 7 should work again....so I jumped on ebay and got him a used 5s for $27 bucks ..popped his sim in and it works great....I wish it was still supported...it's the perfect sized smart phone...Glad to know it's still ok to use even though it can't get IOS 13. Bought three iPhone 5Ss for the kids. They'll be using them as iPods, no cellular data. The kids are 11, 9, and 6. I had one of these when they came out. Loved it. Will replace the batteries (by myself) if they turn out to be super bad.

I gave up my iPhone 5s on 2016 because of its screen size is too small for years of standard. I upgraded to iPhone 7 plus and still using the phone today. No problems whatsoever even playing most recent games.

I just started using one today and I have to say that it's much faster than a low end $100 android phone. I had a LG Zone 4 and a TCL A1X. Both phones under $100 and they are very slow. I had an unlocked 5s in my closet, which I replaced the battery and now it runs perfect. 8 years later and it still beats whatever crappy android device you can find. I plan on jailbreaking it soon.

Note 3 will destroy a iphone 5s nowadays in every aspect, it held up so much better. On a custom rom its nearly as fast as s8+ for general usage

I still use my 5s I bought in 2013. I use it as my Apple TV mostly. I just have it hooked up through the lightning to HDMI adapter to the TV and watch videos from HBO and others. I only stopped having my SIM in it a couple of months ago. iOS 12 is very good on it and they will still issue some updates occasionally for it, got one last month. It is a great phone. If I put the SIM in I can use it as my daily driver and get two days before needing a recharge (battery swapped out two years ago).

I had an iPhone 5s as my first phone. That was back in 2018. My dad still has the iPhone, but it is used pretty lightly, maybe for calls and texts, and reading articles. I think it is perfect for that.
