1. We've been getting signals and pictures from rovers roaming Mars's surface, but still the footage of the food in space is pre-recorded to insert in the RUclips video, they just didn't watch it live, what they were tracking is actually the coordinations of the packages.
2. The food, was clearly mentioned for several times, especially the fries; it's been fixed with poisonous resin, and the pizza was fixed with a bolt.

Just a clarification:
The balloon did NOT acutally go to outer space. Like Niko explained, it will eventually pop. But, it will pop before reaching the Karman Line (100 km above ground, the officially defined boundry between Earth's atmosphere and outer space). Here, it would be classified as near space, high in the atmosphere, and Niko's editor cleverly took that "near" word out at 3:00
