I love Surge's lightning streaks when she attacks! The melancholic Aquatic Base seems fitting for her; maybe it's another Starline lab and it's bringing back bad memories for her. Meanwhile, Starline breaking into Eggman's old pyramid base, seems fitting for him. I'm just realizing Jewel would work great with treasure hunter gameplay, looking for rare minerals. And Clutch could hunt for Eggman parts for his company; plus he's already an antagonist to Jewel due to the recent arc. Lol Lava Harbor has Rayman 3 music! It's definitely a cool environment for Lanolin, charging into a dangerous military base, and I love how fluffy her jump form looks. XD And then she goes to Seaside Hill to finally loosen up! And that "baaaa" effect you added to her death! Oh, and Maggie's in her hair, how cute! Love how Pyramid Cave reflects Whisper's colors, but she's also in Gotham City? She'd be great in the Batman environment for sure! Lol and Tangle just having a fun time on Halloween!
Finally sat down to read the comics recently and fell in love with all this little guys. Seeing them in my favorite childhood Sonic game is just?? So precious?? Lanolin especially, although I may be biased just cuz I use really, really love her design, eheh.
Same for everything, except my Childhood game was Colors, but I also love the characters' designs, especially the Diamond Cutters and Lanolin more in prticular! (I even called my school project group "Diamond Cutters" and invented an actual meaning for that but I knew by myself the true reason was the Sonic group)
OMG some moments really got me like Starline's glitchy victory animation, Clutch flying with rap music in the background (reminder that he's supposed to be an old dude), Jewel's "Hmm! Hmm!" and Lanolin's "Baaaa!" XD But cool idea, I love these characters plus hunter physics work really well on mech stages!
Can we take a moment to appreciate the stage mod for Crazy Gadget, though? I was curious on how they would end up fitting the Aquatic Base theme with this space level, and then I noticed the entire stage was surrounded by water to replace spaces void! That's heccing dedication to the source material!
Stuff like this makes me wish we had a spinoff sonic game series called "IDW Sonic (Then whatever the game is called here) ". So that way they can release the games following the comics worlds and/or story seperate from the mainline games. (Think SonicBoom but without the idea of a reboot and the weird time crunch). It's important they call it "IDW Sonic" and not "Sonic" because otherwise you'll have the sonic storybook series problem where people will think its part of the mainline games and expect as such; where secret rings and black knight are still fun, it's clear they aren't the same as the other sonic games like colors or unleashed. It also means they can release more games are a consistant rate without fear of limited crunch times since you'd have the main sonic games, the racing games, the remakes and the IDW Sonic games coming out when they're ready; since if one isn't ready the others might be.
