Looks like unfortunately, the knowledge to do Yagna correctly is lost over time.
It will be great if that can be revived/restored today if possible.

@Atheist Isn't that exactly what British wanted, to use the cryptic nature of the Sanskrit to manipulate the people of India to drive one side to hatred and other towards superstition, so they can steal and claim the knowledge that was gathered by our ancestors for 1000s of years like bees gathering honey, and we let those wasps to get away stealing the real wealth of our Bharat.

Chitrasutra a part of vishnupuran is one of the oldest texts on painting which were used for the paintings of ellora caves and many more. Linked to it is Shilpa Shastra dealing with various arts and crafts, sculpture etc.
Drawing painting follow same shastras as those of temple idols. See ellora elephanta, textile and calendar painting.
It is said there are 64 arts that one could learn. Bhagwan Krishna is supposed to have learnt all the 64 in 64 days. These sarees include dance, sculpture, coming, painting etc. I am sure there are ancient scriptures about these especially because these were taught, but I do not them.
This seems to be more sophisticated for just origin🎉
