My dad introduced me to songs like this in the 80s. Even though this is a cover by Maxi, it was so good that most people still think it's the original. Kudos to Cat Stevens for giving us this classic.
I sent this song to my daughter when she was following company and was becoming rebellious. She decided she wanted to take a break from school and wanted to have boyfriends. I was relentless as I knew she was way better than what she was becoming. Luckily she has changed and now we are best of friends and she is now becoming a doctor.
It's a beautiful song but I feel so sad listening to this. The world was a better place then. My mom was still alive and I had nothing to worry about 😢
@jojottheprodigaldaughter This song was actually written and released by the British artist Cat Steven's in 1970. It was written after he broke up with the American model and actress Patti D'Arbanville. He also wrote the song " Lady D'Arbanville" about her as well. She is probably best known for the TV show "New York Undrcover" as Lt. Cooper. Cat Stevens was very popular in the early 70s. He changed his name to Yusef Islam in 1977 after he converted to Islam. His birth name was Steven Demetre Georgiou.
My husband and I were dancing to this song when we said "I love you" to each for the first time. That was 18 years ago, and we are MORE in love than ever. Man, that was such a PASSIONATE moment in life.
My mom loved this version as well as the cat Stevens one, when me and my sister went through our rebellious phase she uses to sing it to us, we played it for her the week she lay dying in hospital, I would give anything to hear her sing this to me again... I miss you moma hope your still singing this in heaven
Oh memories! I remember the summer of 94, I was 10yrs old sitting in our back garden having an ice cream while my mother was cooking and getting ready for her friends to come by. Wonderful wonderful memories :)
3 years ago, I lost my dad. It was hard time and I’ve missed him a lot. But I knew that we did our best, love each other, and I could get over pain. This is my father’s favorite song. Me too, of course.
A lot of people are commenting on this being their dad's song! That is so cool. Bless you. He passed on a good tune here. Bless you and I hope you are well.
This was my send off song to my xwife when she wanted to split. Now 40 + years later I can still recall the day. One of the best decisions of my life, no regret.
I love this great cover version of Cat Stevens' classic song, this is one of my most favourite covers, and one of the few ones which I preferred to the original version (nothing against Cat Stevens - or Yusuf, as he goes by, now). I just love the way that Maxi does it in his brilliant reggae style, and the way it sounds. I love the video, too! This takes me right back...
@@queens3696 yes I understand the feeling too I lost my mother years ago but this song brings a smile to my face when I think of all of the beautiful childhood memories I had with her.

This is probably the best version of this song, love the saxophone and just the whole vibe, and the voice. This is the version that comes to my mind when I think of this song, my favorite version.
I've only heard Maxi say how he did not want to record this tune, (Wild World) he was totally pressured into recording it….but I've never heard what his reaction was when he realized the success he had with it. and YES, we still loving' it Maxi!
I remember I didn’t understand my boyfriend due to the constant fights, so I decided to leave the relationship, he just looked at me and told me, I could leave if I wanted to but, I should try and understand him cos he did love me but, if I want to leave he wishes me well. And he asked me to listen to this song every morning. After listening to it, I reconsidered my decision cos Nowhere cool❤❤❤❤❤
