Absolutely stunning. That color is fantastic, and really came out with all the hard work you put into it! I think doing it yourself rather than paying someone adds some bonding with the car that you otherwise miss. Great job.
You are doing a brilliant job on sorting out the paintwork. What I can’t fathom is the previous owners thinking in buying a set of Yokohama A/T tyres and making matters worse by whitening the lettering on the tyres on a Rolls Royce!!!!
I did a similar process recent on a 1987 ford thunderbird with only 21k original miles but had been left in a garage for 10+ years then in a driveway under a tree for 2 years. Should have documented it….it looked absolutely brand new when done.
I admire your energy and pace of work! I have a Genesis Electrified G80 which whilst not as big as a Silver Spirit is still a shade over 5 metres long, and has full PPF from new. Just to wash that car plus a full going over with a detailer product took me three days!!! Admittedly I have a serious OCD issues which means everything has to be perfect with no marks or anything but a glass smooth finish... but it half kills me! That said at 59 I'm a bit older than you, but I absolutely admire all the effort you put in, and the result is fantastic. As you say a full (one or two stage) machine polish will be needed to achieve a perfect result. A skilled bodyshop given the depth of lacquer on a Rolls Royce could well wet sand out a lot of those scratches. Great work!!!
Great job on the paintwork, I would have a ceramic coat applied when you've finished with it. I think the car would look so much better without those all terrain tyres, I mean who thought that was a good idea fitting them🤔
I have to say at my age I would pay someone to do all that work but would miss out on the satisfaction of having done the job as well as you have, well done 👍
You’re doing a great job. I can recommend, for the door seals, now that you’ve cleaned them, Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber (if you didn’t already know) to keep them in tip-top condition. From a weekend warrior 😂
MY GOD! She looks amazing. Its a beautiful colour ( thanks only to you, for your hours of hard work). It has put a massive smile on my face to see her looking so dignified again.
New to your channel. Really enjoying your work on the Roller’. Excellent stuff. Thank you . I got to visit the RR factory when it was at Crewe many years ago and they were producing the silver spirit model then. Amazing craftsmanship and over engineering.
She is looking really nice now, it's a really satisfying feeling when you put that much effort in cleaning a car to some of it's former glory, well done . I hope you don't mind me saying, you can clay bar your windscreen because that will feel like grit when you put your wipers on
Beautiful result after a lot of hard graft. Did a similar job on a 2CV Charleston which is 1/4 the size of the Rolls. Was knackered afterwards but then again I am 73.
I'm loving this transformation and giving me the inspiration to fulfill my dreams of a RR or Bentley. I didn't know there were Spirit III's must have been only a few made? Love the colour.
Ahh... What an enviable and satisfying task! I enjoyed every minute. It isn't every day one has a go at bringing a Roll-Royce's paintwork back to life. Beautiful result, too! My favourite colour for a Rolls-Royce is a dark cherry red or burgundy. This Wineberry shade fits that bill. Continued success to you. Aloha!
The decontamination of the paint was nothing short of astounding. I'm doing annual maintenance keeping up with the paint and dings of a newer car, and it's work. After cleaning and detailing, I always hit it with a ceramic seal, and that holds up well.
Your winning all the way so far. So what it will need for an MOT and bringing up to standard mechanically is the next hurdle. But the way your luck is running with it you probably be OK. If you decide to sell it at the end of the job I see a big, big, earn!
Wow, it's really come up well! Wildberry is one of the best colours they did in my opinion, my '96 Turbo R has the metallic version. It really looks great in daylight, cameras don't really do it justice. Looking forward to more videos on this wonderful car
Looking Majestic again, but feels naked without the hub caps! So glad it's finally indoors away from the elements. Survived surprisingly well despite being abandoned in that car park for an extended period.

You're doing really really well with this Rolls Royce project, Paul. I think it is well worth it once all the paintwork is clean as best as you can get it. Just keep plodding onwards. This is a modern classic, so I think fitting the proper cover over her will definitely do the trick, after you've literally toiled your heart and soul into getting her properly clean, mate. (I think you have taken rather more than 36 hours just to do the clean on her.) Absolutely well done you. Congratulations. From Stuart
Wow - what a truly beautiful job. Well worth the hard work involved in tackling all the contaminants on the paintwork. Looking very regal. 👑. Well done. Dave Birmingham
What a great job you're doing, and doesn't the colour pop,the nsf wing looks like it has a slight bow in it easily put right I'm sure, but it's looking more like the prestige car it is ,well done.
The dedication you have put into that paint work was absolutely fabulous I've detailed a few cars in my time but the way you you put your heart and soul into that and she looks like a beauty keep up the good work just an idea though why not try some plastic scrapers in them rough spots off
Amazing effort, you'll need another few days off after that! Loving the colour... It goes really well with the chrome grill... Surprised you got It in the garage, the xk must be nearly as long as the roller then
Well done bro love these I've watched all these episodes and i hope mrs life on cars is getting a good day out in this roller and spoilt when done and don't forget the rear suspension 😂😂❤❤
Use iron oxide spray remover (bleeding wheel cleaner) on the wheels and bodywork before clay barring - makes the job a lot easier and doesn't damage the paintwork. Put a thin plastic food bag over your hand when stroking the paintwork to check for any contamination, it gives your fingers greater sensitivity and glides over the paintwork better.
GREAT JOB. Lots of time and effort but worth it. when can I bring my car round for a bit of the same? Nice to see the lady popped up in the video. Dave.
I use industrial fallout remover on the vehicle body, which does an incredible job dissolving contaminates. Spray on the body, it goes on clear and watch it turn purple as the chemical works its magic. Best used in a well ventilated area though. Many products on the market with some working better than others. Take a look at Gtechniq W6 Iron and General Fallout Remover, its not bad. Spray on and leave for 5 minutes, then pressure wash off. It's not unusual to have to go over the body a couple of times using the fall out remover if the vehicles body is heavily contaminated. I never use clay bars. Also do invest in a proper DA polisher and different pads. I use a meguiars DA with meguiars 5" pads polishing and finishing pads. Meguiars compound polish is awesome as is the Meguiars ultimate polish, as is the DA meguiars finishing wax that is applied using a microfiber pad or cloth. I always finish my car bodywork with Griots ceramic 3 in 1 wax. This is so easy to apply and certainly gives my steel blue paintwork an awesome shine. Tyres, I use Adams graphene tyre dressing but I am still testing out other major brands to achieve my desired wet look finish. Best to detail the vehicle in a garage to be honest, not outside. Great video, and keep up your awesome work. Love n respect from Taiwan.
Try using white spirit or turpentine on the tar spots. It works pretty well. Just be Very careful of the gold pinstripes , as they were hand painted on some Rolls Royce's.
I wonder if Vince from @My Mate Vince is watching this series as he recently repaired and restored one of these. Some great work going on here and enjoying the the series so far, its gonna be a cracking car!
Your washing, cleaning, time & effort are all commendable, however, I read a long time ago that a car should preferably not be washed under a hot sun, or wait till late afternoon/early evening when the ambient temp. isn't so hot. That's why if you've noticed/observed, professionals almost always do their washing/cleaning, detailing, polishing under shade (ie, in a building, porch, etc).
Gliptone Sap Off is a good product for tree related contamination. Speaking of Gliptone they have a superb leather care range that will be perfect for the seating. This is NOT an advertisement. Thank you.
See she was supplied by one of the most famous long established firms assocated with Rolls-Royce .An immensely satisfying project to view , on reviving a beautiful motor car in a perfect colour .Does the reg. number come with the car or will you have to obtain an ' age-related ' one ?.
Afternoon mate , the old girl is looking good , get yourself a bottle of MENZERNA 3 in 1 and a cheap DA , you can’t damage anything not with a DA I’ve just done my neglected Jag that I have just bought, the paint was a lot worse than your RR , video of it on my channel I put on day before yesterday
Give a proper buff with something like Scholl S20 black one step compound then something like Autoglym rapid ceramic spray- decent protection with amazing shine. Would look amazing
Not sure about covers on outdoor cars as I wonder if a cover will trap moisture resulting in corrosion and grit that may cause abrasion as the cover moves in wind.
A testament to RR paintwork ! Amazing quality .👍🏻🇬🇧
Absolutely stunning. That color is fantastic, and really came out with all the hard work you put into it! I think doing it yourself rather than paying someone adds some bonding with the car that you otherwise miss. Great job.
No half measures to do a proper job! You are doing a great job and adding value to the car.
You are doing a brilliant job on sorting out the paintwork. What I can’t fathom is the previous owners thinking in buying a set of Yokohama A/T tyres and making matters worse by whitening the lettering on the tyres on a Rolls Royce!!!!
Probably be able to sell those Yoko's to an American Truck enthusiast.
lol! I’ve got Geolanders on my Jeep grand Cherokee!!! They have absolutely no business on a roller.
I did a similar process recent on a 1987 ford thunderbird with only 21k original miles but had been left in a garage for 10+ years then in a driveway under a tree for 2 years. Should have documented it….it looked absolutely brand new when done.

Loving your journey here in Australia.
Great job on the paintwork, I would have a ceramic coat applied when you've finished with it. I think the car would look so much better without those all terrain tyres, I mean who thought that was a good idea fitting them🤔
One good thing about a RR is the layers of paint they use. Great job bringing the old girl back 👍🏻
Beautiful. Some whitewalls would dress up those wheel wells.
Amazing how that has come up Paul. I think you have probably added about £15k to its value already. Well done
Make no mistake, she's going to look bloody beautiful when finished..great work,or should l say hardwork...but well worth it!!😉👍😊

@@life_on_cars Get some Avon's on it :)
Great shirt I want one 👍
A pre wash before snowfoam might work. Then 2nd coat and clay bar it
WD40 is brilliant for melting tar and probably sap also. It should be safe as its mainly fish oil based
the best ever,,
