    Everybody who dealt with Death Row, or had been signed to that label (when Suge ran it), they've all said variations of the same thing.
    The label was ran like a gang, which was bad for business, and that ultimately destroyed the label.
    They can't all be lying, so I'm sure it's true.

    In my opinion, Death Row Records had a good run in the 90s and that is the end. Most of the music artists who were with Death Row in the 90s went back to the record label now that Snoop Dogg owns the record label. I believe any new music those Death Row music artists put out in the future is only going to appeal to the people who were listening to those music artists back in the 90s, which are fans in their 40s and 50s. People in their 20s and 30s are not listening to their music.

    Little error on the reporting Snoop does not have control of the Chronic streaming rights nor does he have control of any of the 2pac catalog those were not included in his acquisition of Death Row just a fyi.

    You know what a weird thing about the music industry is that I noticed a lot of Black people coming out, saying how shady it is but never the white people it gotta be racist af yo you tell him you Eminem Post Malone, Macklemore all never had a problem not even lil xan and Jack Harlow

    • @michaelwilliams9700
      @michaelwilliams9700 Год назад +2

      Em had problems cuz all the labels back then , even the white ones ( which is basically all of them ) , considered rap to be a "non white" thing. He would have never been on Death Row. Jack Harlow and lil xan aren't even good at all but they had internet exposure so they are irrelevant besides the fact they ARE NOT EVEN GOOD (DIDN'T I JUST SAY THAT). Goes to show you how powerful the internet is when lil xan has a following and look what happened to Jack after he got signed. Actually I don't know if Jack got signed but I would have to assume he did if he has a song on clear channel in rotation. Haven't heard lil xan at all. And trust me , clear channel is the embodiment of racist radio. As far as other white artists in the industry are concerned, I would say that they are taken pretty good care of when it comes to the labels. I haven't heard of too many documentaries about white artists ending up in jail or being shot. And the white artists clearly had access to more radio play.... Remember, glam rock ,in retrospect, was only popular because of massive radio play all over the country. That's my opinion of course and I liked a lot of that stuff but rap music was funneled to urban areas where more "people of color" are located. I can drive all over this country and find a rock or country station on the radio but when it comes to rap ,that stuff only comes in when I start to get closer to urban areas and promptly fades away when I leave. I'm sure there a plenty of white artists who need to speak up but I bet they get royalty checks to some degree. Even if white artists just fell of , I'll bet job opportunities popped up everywhere, not so much for the rapper who wasn't schooled on the entertainment biz....

    • @whatwhat9004
      @whatwhat9004 Год назад +2

      Well Eminem was fortunate in the sense he signed with Dr. Dre and Dre is not known to do people shady. Plus Dre had a good relationship with Interscope, so that benefited Eminem too. Macklemore had one notable album and you haven’t heard from them since

    • @michaelwilliams9700
      @michaelwilliams9700 Год назад +1

      I think the only reason Dre had a good relationship with interscope is because he was doing "gangsta rap" .

      @@johnhannon2009 yes but when poor whites make it big, they still get to hang out with each other. When blacks in general make it big they have to hang out with white people who are big or... orrr... hang out with the homies and try to bring them up.....no matter what the consequences are...
