As always excellent highlights. I look forward to the full 'feature' as I chose not to make the 350 mile round trip this time. I watched it live on Planes TV, but this coverage and camera work looks much better. Out of interest, is James still using his AX53 and was this filmed using it and with or without a tripod? Keep up the excellent work. Steve.
Hi Steve, yes James was filming for me yesterday, No Tripod used and yes it's the Sony AX53, Fantastic Camera, we will be using two AX53's cameras at RIAT
@@AirshowWorld Stuart, thanks for your quick reply and for confirming that. I've had problems with my AX53 and had it repaired by Sony - it stopped recording in 4K and needed a new main board (£180 - ouch!), but appears to still be not quite right in zoom focus, hence my question. I met James at Bruntingthorpe about 2 years ago and he was very pleased with the camera then. I always film in 4K although in HD I think the camera has an increased zoom range? I seem to recall that James said that he only uses HD rather than 4k - do you know if that is correct and still the case? I'll be at RIAT (in FRIAT) also. Steve.
@@HighFlight Hi Steve, yes we only film in HD, at the moment I am unable to edit in 4 K, it slows the old pc down too much, I have filmed the odd film on 4K but as I'm sure you know, it needs a very fast SD card. If you see us at RIAT come over and say hi, we will have our AIRSHOW WORLD tT Shirts on, well thats if the weather is kind enough for T Shirts.
@@AirshowWorld Stuart, Thanks. I'll hope to see you at RIAT and say hello! I know what you mean regards 4K editing etc - it takes up a lot of computer memory and hard drive space. I use an Apple iMac and find iMovie works very well for 4K editing. I'll have to give the HD features of the camera a good try out as the quality you appear to get from that seems exceptionally good. Fingers crossed for lots of T-Shirt weather, especially after today! Steve.
I was there it my first time at cosford air show unfortunately I didn't see all of it cuz we had leave at 4 o'clock I was near the red and white caravan
Could anyone help me here? At around 2"30' is a fighter. Is this the new Lightning MkII? I live about 30 miles from RAF Marham, but have only seen them at great height, not to really recognize them. Please forgive my ignorance, but I'd appreciate any help.
If you mean 2'30" on this film, the fighter shown is a Boeing F/A-18C Hornet. There's a short film of RAF Lightning IIs here (note - In the RAF they're now known simply as Lightning having dropped the Mk.II from the UK name!) - ruclips.net/video/pKFQe_7XxNA/видео.html
Hi, from what i remember from the show i have a feeling its the hornet and i think it was the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet that flew, but i could be wrong it was a very busy day!
@@HighFlight - Thanks, but the RAF have dropped the Mk II name? That doesn't sound so good. It sounds like some people are embarrassed to connect the EE Lightning with it's modern day counterpart, maybe through promised expectations that weren't eventually met? Cheers for the info.
@@bridgerectifier7711 The F-35 is not a counterpart to the EE Lightning. The EE Lightning was a world class point-defence interceptor. The F-35 is a world class stealth strike fighter with a price tag to make your eyes water.
