- Now that we're done with Stratford-upon-Avon it's time to explore the river itself. We cruise our floating home downstream, and bask in the peace, quiet and cleanliness of this stunning river. But things don't start off quite to plan, so we hit pause, reset, and full immerse ourselves in this untouched river 😙🌳

yeh that's the reality of living with anxiety. I appreciate Wes' candor in sharing his lived experience.
We were a little stressed as we didnt know what to expect, it can always be daunting going onto a new river and Wes has anxiety too which can make it worse. He explained that in the video 😊

I love the fact that where I live in Victoria Australia, the places are named after the old places in the UK, we have the Avon river, and it passes through the township of Stratford.. fun fact, recently decommissioned was one of the countries oldest wooden rail bridges in Australia

Not a big fan of river cruising, sorry, but being a solo boater of ‘senior’ years I think the locks would defeat me so enjoying you both doing the trip for me 👍🏼🦆💕

Talking about those tall mooring posts and the houses being away from the river brings to mind that here in our little midwestern town my home is something like 2 miles away from and 200 feet above the river, and given the Missouri River's history of flooding I am quite content to be here instead of lower and closer. Also, mosquitoes are a little less thick here than they are right on the riverbank. 😄 It can flood to the degree that the channel has switched sides of the local river valley several times.

The mooring poles Need to be that high!!! I have a boat on the Avon near tewkesbury and the river in the winter when it floods can go up over 2 meters. Even now it's up 1.5 meters from it's summer level

Had to smile when you said about playing fetch in that sloping garden. Years ago, when on a rowing boat in Stratford, we witnessed someone mowing their sloping lawn. You guessed it .... Into the river they went WITH the lawnmower 😂😂😂😂

How do you use stern and bow lines when you are solo ?
Generally they will rely a lot more on the centre, and I think they can tie onto the posts when they're off the boat working the locks but yeah it is sooo much harder as a solo! Respect to them
