When I think of all the hard work and effort, Chris has done, to bring us such wonderful movies, plus his knowledge, I feel really privileged and so thankful. I can't get enough of old movies. Today's movies do little for me. A huge thank you, Chris. My best wishes to all old movie fans. Pass the popcorn, please. moog.

Loved seeing Barbara Hale, aka "Della Street" in this film. A film that was before its time because it showcased the fact that a woman was an accomplished doctor. I never saw this movie when I was a child, but I wished I had because there were so few strong female role models as professionals at that time. I am slowly discovering the films that Barbara Hale was in and really appreciate her acting. She really had the ability show her range in these films. Something that she couldn't do on Perry Mason where her role was quite one-dimensional as Perry's secretary. Yes, they were called secretaries back then, not assistants.😮🤔😏
This movie was hilarious! 😂 I haven't laughed that hard from a good movie in a long time. I absolutely love these old movies! Thank you Chris Johnson for such a quality upload!

This movie is a remake of 1941’s you belong to me ( Barbara stanwyck and Henry Fonda) -a young millionaire Peter j Kirk falls in all his attempts to emulate his father.he meets and marries Dr Helen hunt, who refuses to give up her profession, which makes Peter feel useless while becoming jealous of the men she she meets in her job. She is about to divorce him but Peter has a plan that might save them from ending the marriage and enables him to be a contributor to society! The original was better than the remake but both gave the moral of this story that money cannot buy everything but it will help people who need something to lift them up from their situations! Fun fact: Larry parks was a native of Olathe, Kansas-! The flick was good despite its plot! 😊😊😊😊😊
And the moral of the story as told by the maid in the end is "if only he'd whollap me now and then", that hitting a woman and jeolasy = love. Such a cute silly little picture! The first I’ve heard of/seen Larry Parks. Absolutely adorable fellow. I’ll have to be looking up more of his movies. Any suggestions?
The real problem with their marriage is that she never respected Peter. She judged him wholly on the fact that he was born rich and didn’t have to work. She’s always put him down and talked him down as if he was not up to her standards.
I think Peter had every right to be jealous of his wife carrying on in an inappropriate relationship with that sleezeball Van. And when Peter confronts her about it, she gaslights him and makes it look like the problem is with him.
Ok at best. Barbara Hale stands out, but Larry Parks never had the screen presence to rise above the second rank. Great to see and hear Jim Backus - no mistaking him - and that was Frank Cady, "Sam Drucker" from GREEN ACRES, briefly. Years ago a co-worker was married to a trained cardiologist when they moved to the US to flee the new regime. He was not allowed to work in some states because his records were destroyed in the ongoing conflicts from their country. However, they finally moved to other states where he was permitted to work immediately - different laws in different states, apparently.
Now, in 2019 -I have the same problem like the foreign doctor in the movie....My college, University & B.A education is recognised but I can't practice if I don't pay a lot of money for my credentials to be checked & registered...and (maybe) approved...
