Loved seeing Barbara Hale, aka "Della Street" in this film. A film that was before its time because it showcased the fact that a woman was an accomplished doctor. I never saw this movie when I was a child, but I wished I had because there were so few strong female role models as professionals at that time.
I am slowly discovering the films that Barbara Hale was in and really appreciate her acting. She really had the ability show her range in these films. Something that she couldn't do on Perry Mason where her role was quite one-dimensional as Perry's secretary. Yes, they were called secretaries back then, not assistants.😮🤔😏

I sent her a photo to sign, she did plus sent me another signed of her & her hubby (Bill Williams) along with a nice little thank you note. I'm a Big Larry Parks fan and Jolson Sings Again is my all-time fave and thought Larry & Barbara Hale were a Perfect on screen couple. She was wonderful in JSA. I wish they'd been given a stronger 'vehicle' to follow the Jolson one but those days were not like today, you did what the Studios wanted. A favorite 'B' movie of mine is "The Sun Comes Up" with Jeanette McDonald and Claude Jarman Jr. Hard to find & not on TV enough (yet it is a Disney (Lassie) movie. Doubt whether you could get it because of this!

She is about to divorce him but Peter has a plan that might save them from ending the marriage and enables him to be a contributor to society! The original was better than the remake but both gave the moral of this story that money cannot buy everything but it will help people who need something to lift them up from their situations! Fun fact: Larry parks was a native of Olathe, Kansas-! The flick was good despite its plot! 😊😊😊😊😊

Ok at best. Barbara Hale stands out, but Larry Parks never had the screen presence to rise above the second rank. Great to see and hear Jim Backus - no mistaking him - and that was Frank Cady, "Sam Drucker" from GREEN ACRES, briefly. Years ago a co-worker was married to a trained cardiologist when they moved to the US to flee the new regime. He was not allowed to work in some states because his records were destroyed in the ongoing conflicts from their country. However, they finally moved to other states where he was permitted to work immediately - different laws in different states, apparently.

So kind of the good doctor to give him a ride to Las Angeles seeing as she indirectly directly was responsible for his Car being Totalled!!! 😳😒

Lol, if I upload that it will automatically be detected by Warner's copyright scanners and I might lose my channel. You can rent it on demand for a couple bucks through Amazon.

Kathy Forcruz ( I just seen that your comments from 2 years ago Jesus) ooooooh meeeee toooooo!!! 😱I'd never do anything else. I've been staying at my 80 year old parents house for a few mo's now, they've got cable and it's heavenly! if I can't watch 2 movies at once I record them,,,😁 all these good bl&wh movies! l'll tell my Dad, " come on sit and watch this then he says,
" what'ya nuts!! they're older than I am" !! I cracked up, Lol they don't understand why I watch all these old movies when there's so many newer ones I could be watching, but I just love the olden days the way they dressed, talked and the sense of humor. They just give me a good feeling...
I bought a Roku for my house which I didn't hook up, since I don't even have internet , can't even afford that! You could look into getting that if you have internet service. there's Netflix on there Rich you have to pay a little more if you want to put it on oh, a lot of old black and white Movies and newer ones and TV shows . I only paid $40 for it and then the price goes up from there, with more things on it. my cousin's has Netflix and there is a lot on there Black and White too , that's around $14 a month I watched so many on RUclips from my tablet and my phone well now that I've given you the rundown bye-bye enjoy your movies
