For those who don't know with the color of the little trigger is a sign of what gear box it is. Red is a 13 speed. Blue is a 15 speed. And grey is a 18 speed
The fact of the matter is that most "critiques" are done by keyboard warriors, trying to bait. I don't play with trolls. I simply allow them to hoist themselves on their own petard. *** I *** know what runs I have on the board and there's few that can present half the record that I can, but, quite aside from that, soooooo many try to present what we do is something sort of like white man's magic, or some such bullshit. ALL this clip was intended to do was simply demystify the simple process of changing gears..... nor more and no less. If you really wanna know more, there's countless schools from which to learn. The same goes for reversing double articulated vehicles and so on...... it is simply practice and knowing a few basics. Anyway..... thank you for your words.
As Indy said , it allows feel and in some situation that is desirable . the Air solenoid will not allow internal movement with any load but doing it this way is a "Softer " method
I know I know but would it be 22 speed ? Realy because direct and overdrive in reverse and direct and overdrive in bog cog ? Even though not used like that but just saying
The "second gear" you mentioned and used before accelerating is actually the 1st gear, NOT a 2nd and you dont need to put gear in Neutral when splitting, been truckies for years never drive that way.
@@rustyrussell7613 do you actually know what "breaking torque" actually means ?? It means seperating driveline pressure from engine drive allowing the shift to be changed without the lunge effect that you have when not using the clutch , with uneducated and lazy driving skills is the reason your probably suited to an auto
What’s this nonsense about 170000 pounds , haven’t Americans heard of “tons”, a ton is 2220 lbs , much easier to understand when you are talking about such heavy weights.

Thanks for your time and for being honest.

Good stuff mate.
Steve Jory thanks, mate.
I need one of those gear stick head 18 speed right hand drive shifters
Why go out of the gear and back in to split? Very interesting
It allows you to “feel” or ease the meshing instead of relying on the air pressure on the piston to just jam it into the next selection.

What method do you use to to from overdrive back to direct
The same (obviously matching revs!

I was
Shown to split gears like that and you don’t need to do it but it’s fun
On ya Indy ,
Correct method to split is to tap the clutch "break torque" , in and out is just wearing shifter forks , lazy lazy lazy
Gear changing from direct to overdrive (split a gear) no clutch cob

You didn't go back down gears for us
