Can you please touch on how insurance companies look at A poured cement home with a metal roof will this eliminate much of all the concerns over the life of the home
I wouldn’t say it will eliminate all concerns. In the current state of the insurance market the age of a metal roof still matters. Even though a metal roof should last much longer insurance companies are still putting some very unreasonable requirements on age of roof. The year of construction will make a bigger difference compared to concrete vs wood frame construction. A 1950-1960’s concrete home with original electrical and plumbing will be harder to insurance than a new wood frame home. I really hope not!!! Seriously though, this wasn’t an issue until recent years and the current insurance market conditions are a result of predatory practices aka the assignment of benefits. The new legislation that was passed was designed to prevent this and in turn making it profitable for insurance companies to do business in FL again. More insurance companies = more coverage options for us as consumers which ultimately leads to better and less expensive coverage options
Excellent information, thanks
Glad it was helpful!

So you buy a new home 2024…. Then in 2034…. You can only get expensive insurance, if any?
