    Hilton Vs Hyatt, The Great Debate rages on, for years people have touted that Hilton’s large footprint, fifth night free awards, customer service and even the ease of earning and redeeming points puts Hilton to number 1… BUT the there’s the new school touting Hyatt Hotels, while having a smaller hotel footprint, can deliver on an OUTSIZED consumer experience from their very unique and all encompassing hotels, to their generous Cent Per Point valuations and even their exclusivity with Hyatt Globalist Status when compared to Hilton Diamond Status.
    So today, Cesar Joel & JP Knowledge will (sort of) debate this topic to see who really comes out on top! 🏆
    Which side are you on? Hilton or Hyatt?
    Thank you for reading/watching as always!

    Hyatt is the best by far, I stopped looking at other options and actually structure my vacations around the Hyatt locations. My wife works at an airline and we're blessed with the perk of free flights. Stayed in Amsterdam for 5 nights and only used 37,000 points!

    Love the debate here!! I definitely think Hilton beats Hyatt overall in most cases, when you consider how easy it is to accumulate Hilton Points, how valuable Hilton status can be, etc. Hyatt definitely has the best point value, but Hilton wins in my eyes. Great video Anthony!

    Hyatt Globalist is pretty good. And you can link it into Amex FHR and sometimes they will upgrade you. I booked Park Hyatt Bangkok for $350 for a night. I emailed my concierge and she emailed me back and said she called them to let them know I was coming but they weren’t obligated to upgrade me. Because I booked thru Amex FHR. I was upgraded to the Park Executive Suite. The cash price for that room was $1225 that night.
    So I had $200 off for the FHR annual credit, $100 credit for dining . So it cost me $50 out of pocket for a $1225 room. Now that’s not gonna happen all the time. But it was very nice. Add in free breakfast for two of us and late checkout and I was definitely in the positive for that stay.
    Also used a Suite Uograde Award for 7 nights at Andaz Pattaya Jomtien. Booked it for about $900 worth of points. The cash price would’ve been $5100 for the suite we got. Hyatt is very valuable , you just have to know how to use it for maximum value

    I've been a sheltered Hyatt fanboy for a few years now, mainly because of the chase transfer portal and point redemption value. The biggest gripe that I have with Hyatt is that there aren't many options in the boondocks. I have family that lives western Kansas, and it pains me to pay for hotel stays when I have all these Hyatt points sitting. I have admittedly not even considered Hilton due to my own ignorance until just recently finding some videos like this one that break it down better. I do think it is beneficial to use both, but I am excited to get the Aspire card and start my Hilton earning!

    • @AnthonyVenture
      @AnthonyVenture  4 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely Tyler! I’m the opposite, always was with Hilton and love them, but Hyatt has stolen my heard a bit 😂
      One recommendation would be to get the $0 annual fee Hilton first, then the Surpass, then Aspire unless you really need the Aspire.
      Since they may add family language down the line, and would hate to see you lock yourself out of other welcome offers etc.
      Thanks Tyler for being here!

    I can’t say anything negative about Hilton as I am not familiar with their program. However, as a Hyatt Globalist the best benefit that doesn’t get as much PR is the Points Advance Booking benefit. Using this feature I have already confirmed 43 nights in Spain, France, Italy. Greece, Turkey and Germany next summer without needing to have the Hyatt points in my account. I don’t know if Hilton offers this benefit, but having the power to make reservations “on credit” is fantastic. Plus there is the benefit that not only can I earn Hyatt points with my WOH card but also through Chase cards as well.

    This was great! Cesar makes really good points about Hilton and his issues with Hyatt. I don't dislike Hilton but Hyatt as a program and a point currency is better. I will say Hilton has significantly better cards. And although you can earn more points with hilton, they are worth way less than hyatt points.
    The best plan in the points and miles game is to earn points that are transferable then transfer to partners. The only hotel worth it with Chase or Amex is hyatt. Otherwise just use your points for flights because the transfer rate isnt worth it for the other hotels.

    I am not one of these travel points “players”, 90% of my hotel stays are non billable work related, Hampton Inn’s have been my go to for clean and decent places that aren’t budget killers. I recently started also using Marriott properties. I couldn’t tell you where the nearest Hyatt property is. I also have used 400,000 Hilton points this year because of two family members became ill/passed away. Several Hilton properties back home have kept me sane.

    I really think Hyatt is a bit overhyped. I agree with Cesar Joel's point. If you just focus on CPP and feel good JUST BECAUSE you get maximum value, then you overlook the fact that you might not even like the property. Instead, focus on the property that you are ACUTALLY interested in, maybe it has a tennis court, a lounge, or a nice looking gym with equipments that other hotels dont have that you really like.
    So my hotel strategy is still the same: Preview the hotels that you REALLY like, then see if you can get at least equal to the hotel chain's CPP, then go for it. Don't focus too much on the higher CPP you get, the better. For example, say, a Hilton hotel that I previewed and REALLY like, and it cost 30,000 points a night while cash price is $140. Then I'll go for it. $140 maybe a bit lower than Hilton's point valuation at around 0.5 CPP, don't forget the taxes. Hilton waive taxes and resort fees on award stay. So this stay would have been at least breakeven. So you get fair CPP but you will actually ENJOY the property, then it's a win in my book.
    I also do not rave about Hilton free night certificate. Sure it's very powerful since you can stay at top end hotel like Waldorf Astoria for amazing CPP, keep in mind your travel habit may not be the same as others. For me, I like to enjoy the hotel's amenities and food. Even with $50 food credit per night ($25 x 2), the food and amenities at top luxury hotels like Waldorf Astoria WILL definitely much higher prices than say, Doubletree. So you might end up spending more if you're my style of traveling. I 'don't redeem my free night certificate for the sole purpose of getting maximum CPP and might end up paying way more than needed. Some doubletree, Embassy Suites can be very nice hotels at great locations with dining credit and/or free made to order breakfast with restaurants that have much more reasonble prices than Walfdorf Astoria or Conrad.

    • @CesarJoel
      @CesarJoel 9 месяцев назад +1

      Very very good and thorough response to this Titiung! In the grand scheme of things, totally agreed with your mindset. You’re going to want to stay in a place that you’ll enjoy a lot better, and that feeling will greatly outweigh any cpp valuations you would ever get.

Some people are under constant scrutiny with their credit profile and cannot endlessly open 15 cards per year. (Ex. house shoppers) Which hotel would you choose without points? That’d get some interesting answers… 😂

    • @AnthonyVenture
      @AnthonyVenture  9 месяцев назад

      That’s a very good point Shaun! Without that, I think a lot of people would end up with Marriott, or Hilton I guess too in some cases.
      Good idea haha.

      Oh lawd Muhammad! You have to use $200 hotel credit!! Go stay at some nice places, book some trips and a hotel near $200, go to the Ballantyne in Charlotte, you won’t regret it!

    I have only used Hyatt and have never had issues finding a place to stay. Granted, I always try to pay the least points I can for trips which means a lot of lower category hotels.

    • @AnthonyVenture
      @AnthonyVenture  9 месяцев назад

      Same for me honestly, I think a lot of people end up trying to vacation to a lot of places that just so happen to not have Hyatt, probably happenstance just based on where you live, I’ve not had an issue so far finding them.
      Thanks Soundcast!

    Lets just face it, most content creator choose hilton because of the Aspire card 😂.
    If we are comparing apple to apple, then should compare purely the hotel loyalty programs without taking the credit card into consideration.
    Therefore imo the best hotel loyalty program is Marriott.

    • @AnthonyVenture

      Hmm, interesting point. So for Marriott then, what’s the main reason you’d put them above everyone else?

    I have Explorist Status and I was able to get early check in at Hyatt Madrid (at 8:00am). They also gave me 2 pieces of cake and bottle of wine for my Birthday 2 weeks ago. The bald guy is full of shit. Once you transfer your Chase UR points to Hyatt, that's where you get your value. Hyatt hotels have better service and the rooms are always clean. A lot of Hilton hotels are just not maintained well and not as clean. Hilton's Conrad and WA are great hotels and service is amazing but the rest, I feel more often than not, I'm underwhelmed by the service and cleanliness.. More than once I've encountered rude people at the check in desk at Hilton. Just my thoughts... IHG suck completely though.... The bald guy nicked his brain when he shaved his head.

      That’s the great thing about these debates is we get to gather data points between all different hotel programs.
      Me personally, I’ve stayed at both, about 3-5 each this year so far if I remember correctly and have had great experiences at both, at least domestically thus far.
      That’s pretty wild that they gave you cake and wine for your birthday! Did they have that ready, or you told them when you got there and they made it?

      He was upset because he would do last minute bookings to high demand properties. I usually have been able to book Hyatt Place / House easy because they usually aren’t in high demand except Universal Orlando, the Hyatt Houses I have been to have been mostly remodeled in 2023 so it seems like a better point value, even tho they’re no resort.
      I DO agree it is annoying to have a limited selection and availability but the point value is beyond worth. If I go with (I’ll compare the unmentioned) Marriotts .8 CPP I’m sure some destinations give 1CPP but for Hyatts Big Sur damm near 10CPP, plus I’ve noticed it’s not common during any time of the year to get 2+CPP in NYC, but Orlando Universal getting 3+CPP isn’t much difficult. When he said you gotta really do your HW, it’s not like you look at each day of a destination but more about what the avg point value is in that area you’re interested in. Pretty simple. & to compare a 2x .8CPP avg vs a 2x 2CPP avg, both paired with a CFU I’m using CFU for 24 months outta 24 months with Marriotts catch all vs using Hyatt for 6months of catch all before using 18 months of CFU 🤷🏽‍♂️
      I wasn’t aware of basically evening checkout he was given, which in a few scenarios I can see value, but NOT double point value. I’d get an extra night😂
      IDK but it’s not a bad idea to try to understand why people see value in other hotels, but I do understand that Marriott’s portfolio is top tier, maybe I’d get a sock drawer card for the free nights if I see a value opportunity🤷🏽‍♂️

    Well, im gonna try a curio hilton hotel in Rome, as cesar said, no availability, but got great value at hyatt in Milan in a very central area where the property has free sauna for globalists. So for me, i am still team hyatt, but if this curio hotel wows me, i dunno….

      Hmmm, I can see that point. I also think you’ll probably be wowed by the Curio, most likely. I’ve been to life changing ones, and one that ruined the trip so kind of hit or miss. They are usually older properties so with that, you get some old problems as well.
