    How much vocabulary did you learn per day? 20 - 30 words? Just curious 🤨. How much vocabulary does one need to know for A-Level French? 5,000 - 8,000? 10,000? I would try 100 words per week. I saw on Amazon that there are frequency vocabulary books you can get that come in 4 book levels: essential, intermediate, advanced and masters level - they give 2,500 words per book thereby totalling 10,000 words across the 4 books 📚. I hope to buy them in near future as I already have some in Greek. Anyway good video 🙂.

    Hi! I was just wondering how you guys found the IRP and whether it was as scary as I think it's going to be? Thank you! :)

    • @lifewithblessy4639
      @lifewithblessy4639  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Nicole! I personally found the IRP quite fun because it gives you the chance to choose a topic that you're really interested in and go off and do your own research on it. It was possibly my favourite part of the speaking exam, and I was pretty much looking forward to it, so no I didn't find it scary. Your teacher is not there to catch you out, but rather help you, so you could possibly ask them if they're okay doing some practice ones with you before the exam so you can familiarise yourself with the structure and the sort of questions that they may ask. 😊

    It just seems like a level languages are the same as gcse but you learn more vocab. I am in year 11 and there weren’t any new tenses mentioned. Do you learn different styles of french like formal and informal or writing a leaflet?

    • @lifewithblessy4639
      @lifewithblessy4639  4 года назад +2

      I'm not sure how your GCSE language is structured, but for me A Level French was definitely a jump from GCSE. I would say that the work you'll cover at A Level will depend on the exam board your school uses, so I highly recommend you checking the exam board's site as it'll provide you with more information on the course. 😊

    • @xaya02
      @xaya02 4 года назад +7

      I agree I’m midway through year 12 and I think it’s quite a bit harder than GCSE. The marking is not as generous, so there’s a lot more emphasis on not just what you say but the style you write in. A lot of things you write at GCSE tend to be an awkward or “too english” style at A-Level. Also it’s so much easier to lose marks

      Hiya! That's totally understandable, I remember feeling the same way too at the start, because it's such a big jump from GCSE. But you'd be surprised at your own abilities, and if you got in to study it at sixth form, you're definitely good enough to do good in it!
