Thank you! Received my Ace Rod kit and fixed my piano in about 2 hours just by myself. The hardest part was to take the keyboard out of the piano and then it was just as easy as it looks in the video. Excellent service and product.
Thank you Miguel for the excellent video. I received the Ace Rod Kit from you and swapped out the rods in under 10 minutes on my Suzuki HG-425e. The whole job only took 2 hours of time and I had no prior experience in this type of repair. You saved a piano from being throwout ...Thanks Again!!
Yes. The hardest part is getting the piano keys bar out of the piano. Not that difficult just make sure you video or take good pictures of your process as you take it apart. Will really help you when you put it back together. But the repair of the rods is just as easy as he shows in the video.
Miguel, THANK YOU so much for this awesome video. I just replaced the octave rods on an old Behringer CDP-2000 that I bought from Costco. Many keys had begun to hang low, and it wasn't really playable. I watched your video, bought the product directly from Suzuki as instructed ($150 with shipping), and replaced it. The piano now works as good as new. Thank you thank you! - From Tim Davie, Phoenix, AZ, USA
I just fixed my Behringer cdp1000 which has the same innards as the Suzuki. I spent $9 for a 48”x 5/16” steel rod. Filed down ends where it was cut, coated in grease. Fixed 5 bad keys. Took 3 hours only because I didn’t know how to take it apart. Actual rod replacement took 1 minute. I bought a “broken” console piano for $40 and now it works perfectly.
Where did you buy the rod? I was planning to buy this Ace Rod kit from Suzuki, but now I'm wondering if I can find something cheaper? Did you just buy a rod a Home Depot or something?
Thank you for the video, we have to replace the rod on the HP375E Suzuki, watching your video am I right in saying that the rod goes in as you have shown us, then the 2 longer white items go in over the rod that was first inserted? or the first rods were just to line up the keys to be ready for the white rods to go in.............................good video but but have that one question thank you
Some have inquired how to remove the keyboard from a Suzuki GP-3. I have wondered also as I wanted to follow the video procedure above. As the procedure didn't seem to exist, I finally went through the process and created one. Here is a link to it: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1B10V-ND5nHt6Rd56f99QH-Cwl9pTW5IA
@@CamLitvin yes I took out 7 screws with washers from underneath the piano. The right side will lift out easily but the left side still seems like it's screwed in. I was thinking maybe a couple of the screws from the audio input output box might need to be removed but I'm not sure. If you didn't remove any of the other screws from the input output audio box then I guess I did get them all
Need your help: how do I remove the end caps (left one has the on/off button) before I can take the keyboard off? I have taken the 2 screws off from each, and I expected to be able to lift them off and out. But feels like they may be are glued down. Thank you.
Hi Miguel! I have a Suzuki G-33 and many years ago actually replaced the rubber sensor strips under the keys that had a few not working... So I am comfy pulling the keys out of piano. Will your Ace Rod kit fit my G-33? And this video applies to it as well? Thanks so much!
Yes it will but when doing the ace rod kit, you don’t have to pull out any of the keys. If you like email me at service@mypianosolutions.com I have some pictures in case you need help opening your piano. Also I would recommend ordering the ace rod as soon as possible because it takes 2-3 days to put the order together.
Is there anyway I can get a hold of you privately. I have some questions and I would really like to talk to you. You’re videos have been very informative. Thanks for your time
Thanks for sharing this video. I am repairing a Suzuki GP3 today and find your video demonstrates the easiest method on youtube. Can you provide the diameter of the acrylic rod?
Yes because lots of times when your pushing out the old rods with the punch rods, at times it created a gap between the rods and then the key weight hangs low and the rod then hits the key weight so if you look on the video I use my hangs to adjust the key weight by hand so the rod can go through.
Do you have by any chance a video on how to remove the keyboard of a Suzuki GP-3? My wife just got one and some of the keys are not working (no sound). Thanks in advance
Anyone know where to get parts for the Suzuki VG17? I have misplaced a couple parts when tearing mine down. I have repaired the sticky keys with the Ace Rod repair kit (super easy) but I misplaced one of the “key keepers” behind the keys, and a clear plastic that holds the spring on the back end of a key.
I actually purchased the kit, installed it, but a couple of keys still stick. Will reopen, but would love to know what is the lubricant they use for the rod.
I performed this the very same way, but now I have some keys that stick near middle C! What did I do wrong! Is there a way for me to get another batch of synthetic lube and re-do the job?
I have a Suzuki GP-3 would rods from Lowe’s work just as well for replacement rods as well? And if so what type of grease should I use for this? I know it is synthetic grease you are using with your ace rod kit but if I were to buy my own?
Hello, I would like to ask where do I get a rod kit? This video is very helpful but I have no clue were to get a rod kit, I would appreciate it a lot if you would reply. Thank you! Have a great day👍🏻
In your video the new rods seem a bit tight and w/ the grease and climate changes the plastic parts near the rods swell up and playability gets tight and hangs , the grease attracs dust and dirt eventually causing sticky key , plastic where the rod goes thru swells up over time and needs sanding I drilled out the hole so there rods won’t bind I sanded the rods a bit so they glide in easy I used no grease
Hi Miguel, I replaced my Ace Rod, but now my piano has no sound coming through the speaker when the keys are pressed down. I called the Suzuki tech and they said a chip or circuit board need to be replace. Does it sound right? Any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Check the ribbon connector coming from the Keybed. Sometimes when you put the piano back together, you forget to connect this cable, it goes to the main GPU board, it's green board.
John Quattrochi hey John, are you a technician or a customer? You will need a service manual in order to remove the control panel and have access to the circuit boards.

cannot lift out left side of keyboard, like it is still screwed in. Right side ok. Can you help?
Excellent video. Heads up, your old rods may go flying out the other side! But it was a very easy repair with this kit and instructional video.
