Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and bridge the divide between his two worlds. Hondo's elite unit includes David "Deacon" Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer who always puts the team first, despite feeling overlooked for the lead job; Jim Street, a cocky but promising new member of the group; Christina "Chris" Alonso, a skilled officer and the team's canine trainer; and Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations. Overseeing the unit is Jessica Cortez, the captain of L.A. Metro who values her job above all else, including her off-the-books relations with Hondo. Hondo's team enjoys an intense rivalry with another L.A.-based unit led by Mumford, an aggressive leader who likes to do things his way. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives. This series is based on the series S.W.A.T. which was created by Robert Hamner and developed by Rick Husky. It was developed by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan.

People aren't expecting 100% realism but this is beyond ridiculous. And a visible laser. I mean, the laser would obviously give away their position.

Usually i wouldn't care about whats on TV but I can RELATE looking for a 50 meter target in a 300 meter field with an acog is a headache lol

They're not wearing helmets to help the viewers identify the character which helps with the popularity of the characters and the show they want to make sure people know who each one of these characters are so that you can keep up with your favorite character in each scene. Kind of like when I was growing up watching the original swat TV series in the 70s we would run around pretending to be our favorite characters from the show.

You've gotta admit..... Season ONE Episode ONE.... they out did MOST TV series in 30 minutes. The stunts they pull off, the however many "tries" to get it just right and camera angles, SWAT is very very good at what they do.

honestly don’t know why everyone hates on this show 😭 i mean i be cringing at some of the episodes sometimes but overall its a fun watch to be honest.
Because apparently shows have to be realistic its a drama action (I think) its not going to be realistic because why would it? I enjoyed swat but I will never understand why people think it needs fo be realistic when it's fine the way it is I don't care if its realistic or not just enjoy it and if you don't like it then simply don't watch it

@@dorsets9295 why I prefer seal team they have actual former special forces operators on the team and they have former Navy SEAL advisors and they train the actors as best as they can to make it look realistic where is this show is such a hot garbage dumpster fire I work with a guy who was NYPD SWAT and he said they would never go on a call without ipro gloves helmet and they would wear armor from top to bottom then just wearing a simple plate carrier in this is very unrealistic

My takeaway, I used to drive with a slung rifle. And no seat belt. It's nice to be able to un-ass a vehicle in a hurry when people start throwing rounds at you.
Also, going throwing hands with plates on is a turd sandwich. And it's a double decker turd sandwich if the other guy is wearing plates too.
You can always tell folks who have done it. No comments about the obvious stuff like helmets and eye pro...just how shitty it is hitting plates. Stuff most people would miss.

I realise it isn't supposed to be realistic, but RPGs don't do that. They shoot a stream of hypersonic molten metal into whatever they hit. They're guns on steroids, not explosion launchers.

Yup. Rules of engagement and tactics of the military is not the same as cops, even SWAT follow the same ROE as other cops but more "tactical", they are more held back.

For ex Army guys they really suck lol. I love it when movies or tv shows military guys going bad and they can't fight for shit even if they have multiple combat experience under their belt.
To be fair, not everyone in the army are well trained spec ops boys.

@Antoni But all those training and experience you get in the Army is basically stitched into your brain, it's like a part of your life now. The instructors and etc literally force those things into your brain. I met multiple Army guys who never went into combat before but when I go paintballing and shooting range with them they still have knowledge about tactics and basic training. Like in paintballing they have training in combat and they use that and they win all be it they are fighting against civilians running out in the open and just spray and pray but they still use teamwork and tactics.

Not really. Seal Team (CBS) is probably the most realistic show out there (as a few of the actors were previously serviceman, 1 previously being a Tier 2) yet is also an amazing show
@@dorsets9295 Yeah i'll give it to SEAL team for doing it well and keeping it interesting, but they also do give it some sway on the edges to allow more fun stories and aspects, its just hard to do right with it being closer and closer to the realist they do
