I just watched American Graffiti last week. Loved it! Wish I'd seen it sooner. Great music, great cars, great scene & just a very laid back coming of age flick set on one night. I need to check out The Deer Hunter. I have several films from the 70s in my collection that I still need to check out. Great picks!

I’m really looking forward to checking out American Graffiti. The Deer Hunter has an amazing cast and the acting is outstanding, but there are definitely some gritty scenes. Thanks so much for checking out this video!

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I did a list too. Didn't have all the titles for the ones I listed. Feel like some of the 70's movies aren't as readily available as some of the other decades. Awesome of Tim to do another one of these.

Hey man, thanks for checking out this video! Yeah I’m pretty weak when it comes to the 70’s. I don’t know why but I just don’t connect as much to the films of that decade but I absolutely love television from the 70’s. Tim is great and I love it when he puts out these challenges.

That would be amazing to get another Matthau/Lammon film on Blu-ray. What a legendary duo.

Interesting list! The 70s was an easy decade for me to make a Top 25 list, but I still haven't seen A Bridge Too Far, Buck and the Preacher or The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. I only recently saw The Bad News Bears for the first time and wasn't crazy about it. I think Matthau works for me more as a dramatic actor than a comedian, so I would like to see Pelham. Glad to see Star Trek: TMP on your list, as I am a dedicated Trekkie. By now, you've probably watched American Graffiti, so I hope you enjoyed it. Great film!

I think The Taking of Pelham One Two Three is outstanding! Matthau is great in that film. I prefer the 70’s version far more than the remake with Denzel Washington John Travolta. I still have not seen American Graffiti yet, but I did watch Kramer vs. Kramer. Star Trek, especially that original cast, is the best! I have so many memories of watching that show with my Dad growing up. Thanks so much for checking out this video, I really appreciate it!

Hey Jon. I think you did a great job with your ranking. Hmm.... I could have sworn you owned Halloween '78. I would be crushed if you purged it so I'll add it to your mailer that includes The Devil's Rejects. 😂😂😂
I definitely have to check out The Front Page. For the life of me, I can't believe I haven't seen it. If you recommend it, I'm watching.
Thanks so much for your list. I enjoyed seeing what you have in your collection. 👋👋🙂

Ha ha! I did have a DVD copy of Halloween a couple of years ago…it is no longer with us. Ha ha!
I really do need to expand my 70’s collection when it comes to film. For some reason I just don’t connect as much with the films from the 70’s, but I absolutely love the television from that decade. Weird!
Thanks so much for checking out this video Stephanie!

Kramer versus Kramer. I haven’t seen in a very long time but the one thing I do remember there’s a woman full frontal nudity everything. Don’t have any kids around when you watch it.

I don't believe you have to own the film to be on your list. You just have to had watch it but it would be weird if its in your list and ranked above something you own. Anyway great list for how short it was. My dad came over to watch the Super Bowl with me and I told him to come over early so we could watch a movie. We watched the 4K of Thunderbolt & Lightfoot from 1974 since we both had never watched it before. I was surprised he hadn't seen it because he's a big Clint Eastwood fan. We were both laughing pretty well for the first 15 minutes or so I guess. It was a really good movie just a little dissapointed with the ending is all.

Interesting that you only have 10 to pick from. So, does this mean "classic" cinema ends with the 60s? Great movies, nonetheless. Excellent video, as always.

    • @Plaidx2Productions
      @Plaidx2Productions 5 месяцев назад +1

Yeah man, I don’t really connect that well with films from the 70’s, but I absolutely love television from that decade. I don’t know what the official term “classic film” refers to, but for me personally it would be 30’s-50’s. Since I was alive in the 70’s, the word classic feels like a stretch for that era of film. When you were born probably impacts how we use the word “classic”. I’ve heard young people call Nirvana “classic rock” which it is to them but absolutely not for me. Thanks for checking out the video Dell!

I hope this comment is helpful to the channel and to your editing and not perceived as someone complaining for the sake of complaining.
It took 1:59 of a 9:18 video to get to your top ten. Round numbers, that’s 20% into the video before you dive into the promise of the title.
