Crispin has a good point there about anime being able to portray serious subjects, but the problem is is that for every anime that does that it seems like there are 10 others (atleast) that are just horrible and stereotypical and focus a little too much on the female anatomy.
A trend I tend to notice with Japanese anime & videogames is that a lot of them try to tackle the issue of what it is to be 'Human' (Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Claymore, Devil May Cry, etc), and the only American show I've seen that tackles this same issue is Dexter (also very well done).
@BreaktheChainsofFate From what I've seen, he's much more of an intellectual. He doesn't preach, he rather looks back on historical events. He's been known to go off on rants about various "lectures/books on tape" he has on his iPod and so forth. So, I suppose there's no evidence to say he isn't religious in some way, he's just not open about it if he is.
@BreaktheChainsofFate That, and if someone that believes in something being open about what he believes is something that bothers you enough to go all CAPS on us, you may not want to avoid panels held by said person. Though I do understand Vic's pretty much everywhere.
This guy was born in chicago? why aint he constantly at acen man its his hometown, or atleast in the two years I have been going there i have not seen him there. And by the way I like vic hes a real geek at heart and shows that its ok to be a christian anime fan. and so is Johnny yong Bosch, and I belive Yuri Lowenthal is too.
@BreaktheChainsofFate You make it sound like a convention is some kind of God free religion free zone. If someone's a Christian or a Buddhist or whatever, they're not going to suddenly stop being one once they walk into a convention. If they're being in your face about it, yeah, that'd be annoying. But I won't fault the guy for being open about his beliefs. If anything, you're idea is to aggressively force your lack of belief on others by declaring conventions "God free".
@BreaktheChainsofFate Congratulations, I don't hear that often. However, unless you can reply with more than a simple insult, this conversation has no further purpose. Stay classy.
@BreaktheChainsofFate So you complain about someone being religious or preachy at events you don't go to, and don't even like? At least you don't have to worry about meeting Vic anytime soon. Also, if you're going to insult someone in a RUclips comment, please at least try and think of something other than "fag".
*PREACH IT CRISPIN-SEMPAI!*
He's bringing up some really good points that I fully agree with!!

+5 points for originality, with a x2 combo multiplier. I believe you win
