I am so glad other veteran and respected artists are sharing their thoughts on SB19. SB19 have a goal and vision: to put OPM Music on the world stage one day and make the Philippines a global music powerhouse similar to what South Korea has achieved with BTS. The advantage is that BTS had the full support of the government and its own powerful record company. They had the resources to create BTS and industry connections to hire the best choreographers, song writers, etc., and connections to music producers in the USA to refine the group. SB19 had none of that, but they are still getting there despite that. Through their music, they are paving the way for the OPM music industry to fine tune it's industry standards and level the playing field for other musical talents to find their place in the sun and thrive. SB19 are not only promoting music, but also tourism through their music. A lot of international fans are showing interest in the Philippines and wanting to travel there. If the industry is really supportive, they should join hands and invest time, money, and their talents into helping SB19 even more especially with regards to producing and promoting them in the international stage. I like that every artist in the music scene want a piece of them via collaboration, invitations, etc. so that they can ride on their success. But SB19 need to be savvy enough to understand also how this will benefit them, too, not just the artists who want a piece of the cake without giving anything in return. As the fans, we want to see them rise. I personally want them to be as big as BTS, maybe even surpass BTS. But we cannot achieve that if we are fragmented and lack vision. We need to lay the foundation now and create a springboard where SB19 can truly soar and be important enough in the global music scene. Remember, if they succeed globally, it is to the Philippine's benefit anyway. We should set aside petty fandom wars and see the bigger picture. Filipinos can be shortsighted. We, as the fans, and the OPM industry, and maybe the government, need to look at the long term goal and help SB19 achieve it. I am so glad other veteran and respected artists are sharing their thoughts on SB19. SB19 have a goal and vision: to put OPM Music on the world stage one day and make the Philippines a global music powerhouse similar to what South Korea has achieved with BTS. The advantage is that BTS had the full support of the government and its own powerful record company. They had the resources to create BTS and industry connections to hire the best choreographers, song writers, etc., and connections to music producers in the USA to refine the group. SB19 had none of that, but they are still getting there despite that. Through their music, they are paving the way for the OPM music industry to fine tune it's industry standards and level the playing field for other musical talents to find their place in the sun and thrive. SB19 are not only promoting music, but also tourism through their music. A lot of international fans are showing interest in the Philippines and wanting to travel there. If the industry is really supportive, they should join hands and invest time, money, and their talents into helping SB19 even more especially with regards to producing and promoting them in the international stage. I like that every artist in the music scene want a piece of them via collaboration, invitations, etc. so that they can ride on their success. But SB19 need to be savvy enough to understand also how this will benefit them, too, not just the artists who want a piece of the cake without giving anything in return. As the fans, we want to see them rise. I personally want them to be as big as BTS, maybe even surpass BTS. But we cannot achieve that if we are fragmented and lack vision. We need to lay the foundation now and create a springboard where SB19 can truly soar and be important enough in the global music scene. Remember, if they succeed globally, it is to the Philippine's benefit anyway. We should set aside petty fandom wars and see the bigger picture. Filipinos can be shortsighted. We, as the fans, and the OPM industry, and maybe the government, need to look at the long term goal and help SB19 achieve it. We do want to be a powerhouse in music globally and dream of SB19 be on top, don't we?
