That is crazy, that’s a 3rd quarter score in the NBA now. I wonder what they did back in the day that NBA players don’t do today? Whatever could it be? 🤔🤔🤔
And then think about this: the Spurs scored 29 pts in the first quarter. Which means they scored 50 the next three quarters and first OT. I think it was the third quarter where Duncan/Robinson and teammates scored 12. That was the thing about Chicago, they could put THE CLAMPS on teams defensively and just shut them down. In 1997, they held Malone, Stockton and Jazz to 54 points in a finals game. 54. Let that sink in. Still a record to this day. The early 2000s also had some awesome defensive teams. Tim Duncan is widely considered to be a top 10 player of all time and some would even say top 5. But let's say he's only top 15. You don't reach top 15 without dominating the league at some point. Many call him the greatest power forward of all time. I could go on, but Tim Duncan in his prime would have been a threat to Jordan or anybody who has ever been considered a great NBA player. Even pre-prime Duncan was a monster.
Tim Duncan on Michael Jordan: "Tim Duncan made an appearance on the Dan Patrick show in 1998, where the host asked him his experience of meeting MJ. Responding to Patrick’s question asking his magical encounter meeting MJ, Duncan said, “But Jordan’s Jordan. I’ve always respected him but I’ve never been a fan of his. Patrick then asked him an intriguing question if he does not like Michael Jordan at all. “No, I don’t like Michael Jordan because I don’t like Michael Jordan. You got me wrong there.
