- My try at running the highest difficulty of NGS2. Time was 3:49:26 but I died a lot, so it's very much beatable. Done on a Nintendo Switch. Captured on a Mac laptop, so no LiveSplit this time.

Omg props took me ages to do master ninja on normal ng2 loved watching this and I've never found a soeedrun for mn either so I was so happy to find this and see when it will get broken
Thanks for watching! Vanilla NG2 is much harder than Sigma 2, specially on MN! It took me ages to beat for the first time, too.
This run was made on my cousin’s Switch while visiting him during the Easter weekend. Routed on Friday, trained on Saturday and recorded on Sunday.
I was happy with the result, but there’s ample room for improvement.

Well, it’s the only run on this category, I only trained one day prior to recording and I died a lot, so it’s really not that much of a WR. But many thanks nevertheless :)

Awesome, man! Damn, this game is old :(. I never had a PS3 and I play this version on my cousin's Switch; the only one I own is the PS Vita version, which is impossible to platinum. Thus, I've never known the glory of getting that trophy. Congrats!
I had almost all gamerscore on NG2 for xbox360 but that was a long long time ago.. I wish i could play NG2 on PC but there is only NGS2 for PC :(

the fact that the master collection was ported well on switch genuinely surprises me i wouldve thought it wouldve had the xbox 360 fate of ng2 in the later chapters because of the switches hardware being less powerful to a ps4 or xbox one for instance
Absolutely, I know what you mean. I never played Razor’s on my cousin’s Switch tho, maybe that game had issues I don’t know about.
That being said, if Nintendo’s 2018 console couldn’t run game from 2007 and 2009 it would be fucking deplorable 🤣
I hate that side-mission with Ayane, with more than a couple of enemies on the screen it actually feels like a stage from vanilla 2, but the Black Spider Ninja have a ton HP and are so stupidly resistant to dismemberment.

The modern NG series, from easiest to hardes on highest difficulty… that’s a topic for a great video right there, but I would say:

2. Sigma
3. Black
4. Dragon Sword
5. Razor’s Edge
6. Sigma 2
7. Yaiba
8. NG2
9. NG3 Vanilla

Thanks! One of the hardest chapters for sure. I'm terrible with all three of the girls. Likewise on Sigma 1 and Razor's Edge, I've only ever been good with Ryu. Good luck with the rest of the playthrough!
@@Grayson1048 yeah those missions are the ones that are the worst actually. Did you play Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360? Master Ninja mode?

It took me 3 hours on certain bosses when I got back into ngs2 in 2020 like this game u will lose your memorization fast
The two Tengu’s at the end of chapter 5… I’ve been stuck on that stupid ass boss fight for almost two days now. There’s no WAY it could that easy for you, I keep getting grabbed and insta-killed every damn time. Heck maybe it is as easy as you make it, but I’m about this close to just giving up on Master Ninja.
By the way the 360 Lunar technique is THE move to rule them all and I’m glad someone else recognizes it! 😎
Well, it wasn't that easy... they killed me twice. Very tough fight, but at least you don't have to do several fights again if you die, like with the first Tengu. That's the biggest run-breaker of the game.

And yes, the Lunar's 360 UT's final hit instant kill property is super helpful, always has been :)
@@Grayson1048 I finally fucking did it, Bro. Once I figured out the reason I kept dying, which was the stupid grab, I sort of played distance game, plus I showed a little more balls with the method you used. The double X. Can’t tell you how thankful I am for this video, all of the other ways and videos weren’t nearly as effective as yours; maybe now I actually have a chance to beat Master Ninja. Not looking forward to Zed the second time.
Edit: it took me so long that I got the achievement for killing 1000 enemies with Momiji 😂😂😂
@@thejoshthatplaysdrums3293 Congrats man! The method isn't mine, though, can't take credit for it. I don't remember whom I learned it from, many years ago, being stuck on the first Tengu. But yes, it's either double X or single Y. I just checked, the new WR uses single Y (I need to change the thumbnail of this video).
The hardest chapters imo are the 3 girl chapters, you're 1 out of 3, you got this bro!

I'm fairly new to the series, got into it properly two months ago and in that time I've 100%'d (all difficulties and achievements), both Sigma 1 and the original Ninja Gaiden 2. I'm working on Sigma 2 now, and though it's significantly easier IMO, that doesn't mean your run isn't incredible in its own right. Congrats on the world first, and hopefully I pick up on some tech while watching this that makes my own runs of Sigma 2 more enjoyable.
Hell, the fact you're not only doing this on joycons, but getting a successful MN speedrun out of NGS2 when grabs are one-hit kills is impressive in of itself.
If you 100%’d both Sigma and NG2 in two months, you’re seriously gonna be a force to be reckoned with in a short while. Jeez, that’s amazing!
I hope too that my video helps you in some way, that if you decide to join the NG community you have fun and feel welcome, and I thank you for the compliments regarding my run. While Sigma 2 is indeed easier than NG2, on MN it does require preparation and good routing. Not to mention, playing on joycons is indeed not ideal.

@@Grayson1048 Thank you so much for the appraisal, means a lot from such a great runner. NG1 was alot more painful than 2 for me, those Ninja Trials had me ready to give up playing the series outright until I had them down. It's creators like yourself, JTB, Farnham, etc. that have really helped me improve in this span of time. I love the community already during my brief stay, here's to a bright future for the NG community. I agree with you there, even knowing what enemies are ahead of you especially to avoid grabs is no doubt crucial on Sigma 2 MN. Thank you, you too man!

Choice was my cousin’s Switch or my PSVita, only ways I have to play Sigma 2. But the Switch joycons aren’t thaaat bad, truly.

Thank you :). I don’t think I could combine those challenges. You need no play pretty careful and conservative for no damage, while speedrunning sometimes mean tanking damage. Also, I depend visits to my cousin to play this lol, so there wouldn’t be enough time to train.
What is the input for that combo your using on the armadillo at 2:02:40

@@Grayson1048 hmm that was my first thought but every time I do it, it does a different spinning move which leaves u vulnerable and it’s not the 360 degree spin either. I’m playing on the masters collection btw. Has it been patched or tweaked in some way lol
@@crimsonskull9276 Well, the Master Collection is different from the other versions of Sigma 2 in some ways, but not the controls, and in that run I was playing in the MC as well. I know the move you mean; you're just tapping the joystick forward and pressing Y; for this move you need to hold the joystick forward, each time you do it (as opposed to leaving it in a forward position). So, it's Hold Forward Y, B, hold forward Y, B, hold forward Y, etc :)

I've heard that AI difficulty and patterns vary between versions. Or does this only apply to the remastered collection?
They do. The biggest differences are between Vanilla NG2 and Sigma 2. Difficulty is debatable, but patterns are very different.

Nem tanto, no Sigma 2 no início qualquer inimigo mata sendo agarrado e o dano dos inimigos é absurdo, eu levo dias pra zerar no (master ninja) passando muita raiva, e eu jogo bem, e me parece que a versão do ps3 é mais difícil
Don't have any grief with ninja gaiden..hardcore oldskool...maybe it was a bit too zippy but that's about it...
Ninja gaiden was actually awesome...just some of their animations were a bit too zippy...they just need to tone down the speed of some anims...
