  • Recently-restored Southern Pacific 2-6-0 1744 making its first runs on Utah's Heber Creeper in September 1980. This video was taken by a member of the Promontory Chapter NRHS and given to me in the mid-1990s. Sorry about the quality - video cameras were just not very good in 1980! I think the subject more than makes up for the quality of the video.

      Me Too! I honestly wish she was still in Texas on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad But at least she will be on home rails for the first time in many years

    Sometimes I forget that 1744 ran on Heber valley til the 90s
