All the backpacking gear hacks and hiking gear hacks that you'll need Развлечения
A ball of wet grass is good for cleaning pots and pans as well … also it doesn’t damage coated pans 👍
Great idea
The lens wipe hack is a good one. Gotta try that. Maybe even keep lens wipes in my fire starter kit.
My favorite fire starters are Duraflame
@@JeremiahStringer yeah, those are good
Nice binder clip not just for paperwork
You got that right
Great tips! Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Use tent stake bag as rock bag for bear hang, doesn't save enough weight to worry about but one less thing to keep track of
Good idea there
Great ideas! Thank you for sharing! Colorado Girl
You are so welcome!
Great tips! 👍👍
Glad you think so!
Never thought of the lens wipe! Great tips thanks man!
Happy to help!
Great tips. I like the grocery bag for shoes. I'll have to try the lantern hack.
Hope you like it
small piece of pine bough makes a great Brillo pad. Great tips!
That’s a great idea
I dig the watch my friend.
Thanks dude
The clip-hood hack is one of those "why didn't I think of this" tips. :)
Lol I found it online and thought the same thing
good tips buddy
Glad to help
Love the cheap grocery bag shoe hack!
It’s a good one
Just want to let you know that painting cotton cloth (like canvas) with "Spar Urethane" will seal & waterproof it plus cloth remains flexible. Spar Urethane is clear, UV resistant, oil based and finished result if similar to old fashion waterproofing using linseed oil.
Great info! Thank you
I've been looking for a good watch and the solar recharging ability is news to me. I used your link so I hope you get credit for the sale. Thanks for all the tips and videos!
Awesome, thank you!
OMG! I did not know that about my sawyer being a gravity filter. amazing!
Enjoy 😊
Great hacks, 👍
Thanks for watching
Polar jammer made the cut! Very cool! I still have a few left. Great video, bud!
Thanks for the polar jammer
I usually hammock camp, but I did a 12 day trek last summer and had to use a tent. I got a Trekology inflatable pillow which was okay on it's own, but I needed a bit more height and wanted to counter the balloon effect a bit. I wound up wrapping it in my puffy jacket and then used a T-shirt like a pillow case and it made a pretty awesome pillow.
Also, on the same trek one of our guys had a Helinox chair zero break on day 1. Fortunately I had both extra cordage and gorilla tape and I was able to Macguyver it well enough that he was able to use it for the rest of the trek. All that to say I fully support the recommendations for both extra cordage and duct tape.
I absolutely love my hammock
I put my tape wraps on tongue depresser in my first aid kit.
Good thinking
Thursday, February 22nd: Thanks for the tips. Have a great day! Happy Trails! Ross08
Enjoy
I wouldn't wipe your phone screen with those wipes. They will cut through the oleophobic layer that is there to keep finger prints off and a smooth swiping screen. I learned this the hard way.
But I do like the fire starter hack!
That makes sense. I have a screen protector on my screen and lenses
Just a nitpick but in the Southern Hemisphere the wristwatch method described points to North, not South.
You were totally right
I LOVE my polar jammer! Keeps my electronics from losing battery. ATOD rocks!
It rocks
Putting tape on a trekking pole is a royal pain in the A@$ when you use a trekking pole tent. I use a soda straw to wrap tape around it. Don’t cut the straw until you got the tape wrapped around it. The extra soda straw length makes a good handle to hold onto when wrapping.
The other tip is the importance of hot chocolate or some other hot drink. Hot drinks keep the body core warm. A double hot chocolate (2 cups) when it’s cold and raining, heats you up. It helps dry out your clothes faster. Add some butter to it. It beefs up your core temperature even more. Plus the hot chocolate hydrates you and adds calories for your recovery. After you get done with that drink, make another one. Let your body start drying out your clothes.
I love to put hot chocolate in my coffee on trail
An ordinary inflatable pad is not insulating, reflective mylar requires an air gap to work, buy an emergency mylar reflective bivy and stick the air pad in it, the pad will serve as the air gap and absorb reflective radiant heat from your body.
That makes sense
One of my friend’s shoes had become dry-rotted without her knowing and were literally falling apart as we were on a trip. We were so glad we had duct tape! Got her through!
Duct. Tape to get you through.
Does the compass work with a calculator watch?
Lol I don’t think so
Saw your J&H sticker! You from the lexington area??
I live in Somerset about 1.5 hours south of Lex
@@JeremiahStringer nice!!! I was actually the store manager at J&H up until about a year ago
No way. Small world. Do you know “Backpacking with Jason?”
Are you sure?? 6 hours of sunshine gives 6 months of battery??
That’s what it says lol
Don't wrap Leukotape like that, you'll never get it off. Put it on wax paper.
Great idea
Is it just me or does the "next level" keep getting lower and lower? This is basic stuff dude. I learned most of these when I was in scouts (a child), but I'm not allowed to talk about that 😮
I just put next level in the title so it was more clickable for the algorithm. If you don’t use the algorithm on your title and thumbnail your videos won’t get pushed out to a wider audience on youtube. That means less clicks which means less sales to sponsors which means less money for me. I have a baby on the way and bills to pay lol
@JeremiahStringer atleast you admit you use clickbait (purposefully deceiving people) to make money. If I tried that in my profession stringer I'd be in the poor house.
