Looking forward to seeing your painting journey, friend. I just got back into the hobby myself, and the model of the month is a fantastic way to try something new that you wouldn't ever do on another piece. If you want to get better very quickly, I would highly recommend trying to learn non metallic metal. The fundamentals you learn from how light affects your pieces has been the greatest benefit I could have ever asked for. Not to mention, once you get the formula down, it is just going to help you make working with metallics and doing highlights much much easier to use and apply.
Thank you for checking out the video! Non metallic metal is high on my list of techniques to learn. hopefully we can make some progress towards that goal in 2025!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun with the mini this month. i would not normally buy a stormvermin model so painting something outside my normal scope was fun.
Wow dude can't believe that you just found out about the free mini every month haha. Try a zenithal highlight next time for a more noticeable light to dark shading. I've always heard it's best to go from the inner most area and work out so you working the opposite was definitely an interesting take haha. Great job though, can't wait to see what we get next month!
my eyes have been opened. i will build random armies one mini at a time! i will take a look at zenithal highlighting i like that idea! Thanks for checking out the video!
That is a great question! I would bet that each store does it a bit differently. Im curious now what everyone else gets when they go for their free mini!
i would never trade my plastic glue for super glue :D hmm an advice i would give to someone that wants to be a better painter. i would say try painting styles outside of GWs eavy metal, like volumetric painting
I ruined 1 mini with some plastic glue 1 time and that was enough for me. I would rather occasionally stick my fingers together lol. i creating a list of styles and techniques from the suggestions yall give me so i can hopefully learn a lot more tools for painting!
Cant wait to see any further videos. This one was really well done - i can't believe it is your first!
Thank you! i appreciate it! its been a fun process so far learning the best ways to paint and film at the same time.
Damn i didnt know the free mini thing existed. So cool!
My life has forever been changed!
This is a pretty good idea for improvement, kind of like a video journal.
Im looking forward to seeing how this series pans out over the next few months!
