When Steve Irwin passed, I turned to Steve Backshall when I was a kid, to keep up my interest in nature and animals. I was obsessed with the program Deadly 60!
In Dutch a unicorn is literally just called a "one horn". Ik if you break down the English word it means that too, but at least we put some effort into it.

I met Steve while i was on holiday 2 years ago. He stepped off a wildlife watching boat while i was kayaking around. I thought he looked like Steve but i had no idea it was really him. We met him in the pub later that evening, him, his wife, and his kids. As youd imagine, they were all lovely. This man was my childhood 🙌

From Deadly 60 to Expedition with Steve Backshall, all of his shows were always so engaging and exciting thanks to his raw enthusiasm and passion. Being born in 1998, for me, he picked up the torch from Steve Irwin (RIP Absolute legend too🙏🏼) when he tragically lost his life, and brought interesing, exciting educational nature content to our screens once again. Shows like these helped me to understand there is an extreme wealth of life beyond the human world we often pay too much of our attention to instead. Much respect Steve!❤️😎

Had the pleasure of meeting steve when i was a kid on the Isles of Scilly. I loved deadly 60 growing up and word spread around the island so fast that he was there filming something. From memory he was clearly in the middle of something, but he still took the time to stop what he was doing to take a picture with us. I was probably 9 then and i'm 24 now and still remember how kind he was to this day.

I never realized just how powerful a cow was until I visited a dairy farm. The bulls were very obviously massive and powerful, but when I saw the cow up close, I was quite literally shocked at just how massive and strong they were, and when a cow had a calve nearby, they watched every little thing you did intently.
I just got a job as an animal presenter! I’m currently being trained in animal handling and I’m loving it so far. I get so giddy that I get to work with animals everyday🥲😊

Steve Backshall might not be as iconic as the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin but he did a decent job and deadly 60 was a great show back in the day when I was a kid. I would love to have seen a crossover episode between Steve Backshall and Steve Irwin the two Steve Wildmen tackling dangerous animals together.
Steve is my fave wildlife presenter after Sir David Attenborough. Loved the croc programme Steve did when he was starstruck when he met Henry the massive croc. I think it's the same one linked in the description box, well worth checking out.

I watched Steve Backshall since I was about 15 and I have to say he is a idol of mine. Steve seems like the most likeable bloke in the world, he does seem like a top human being and for me the guy I’d choose after Attenborough as my fav wildlife guru.
Fun fact: in Brazil we say "jiboiar" that translates as " act like a boa constrictor" as a verb to describe the act of resting throughout digestion of copious amounts of food.

I get the creeps when I look at roaches because I’ve seen infestations. I had a friend in highschool, I say had because I don’t go over there anymore. I swear on my life his house was 90% cockroach 10% house. I’d feel bad if he didn’t deserve it. Instead of idk fixing things all him and his mom do is wake up at noon every day. Smoke bong hits and rewatch old episodes of friends. Every single day for years on end. They are normal people, I like him and his mom as people but like the way they live. Imagine washing your dishes covered in roaches, putting them in the cabinet covered in roaches for the roaches to crawl on the “clean plates” just to eat some food off them that the roaches hit first. It’s like the roaches turned their house into a trap house. I told one of my other buddies who has the same grievances I do, that if I won the lottery the first thing I’m doing is destroying their house and getting them a new one. He told me “bro why would you do that, they are just gonna let the same shit happen to the new house”. My room is messy, I keep beer cans on the floor when I’m drunk and too lazy to take them out. I don’t have bugs in my room. I live damn near in the woods so bugs are unavoidable. I see roaches in my bathroom occasionally, I assume they are drawn to the toothpaste. My room is messy but I relish in the fact the bugs I see are in the bathroom, I don’t eat in the bathroom. Edit: I swear to god, If you sit on my homies couch a funk sticks to your clothes. I’d come over, sit on the couch and hang out for 15 mins. The second I get in my car my car is filled with musk. The smell of just musk and funk. I took a shower and scrubbed myself everytime I left their house and they got the balls to ask me why I don’t come around anymore. Mf id live in my car before I lived in that house I swear on everything I love id sleep on the sidewalk before I step foot in that god damn house again
You could offer me $500 dollars to stay the night I’d turn it down. I’m not kidding, I could use the money but it is not worth $500. You would have to pay me atleast $2,500 to stay the night and even then I might back out and say f the money
