    Fantastic I accidentally popped mine off the snap ring when trying to put the shift lever back on I was afraid I ruined the whole thing!

    I put a couple of washers on the spindle between the gear change and the cover casting, minimum side play.

      The problem is that the snap ring groove on the shifter shaft is not very deep and the snap ring will pop out of the groove and cause shifting problems. I have seen this happen on a lot of 450s. This solution works well even if the bike falls over on the shifter side.
