I agree with some of the comments that the third boy is very much like the father. He is cunning and makes sure that he gets the bigger share in food, e.g. choosing the biggest piece of meat; eats food once the dish is put on the table before anyone is present just like his father. He would take food to put on his sister's bowl but you can be sure that the food is the smallest piece and also he would put food onto his father's bowl to gain his favour! The third boy is definitely not on the same level as his elder two brothers who are helpful and considerate.
Those boys are so very good loving and caring,can't she do without the father he is no good at all. He was spiteful to the baby and he wasn't talking very nice to the other children. She looks like she could cope on her own he wouldn't even do as the woman asked him. I wouldn't trust him round any child.
