@@1massboy thats wierd, glass-steagall act (legislation resulting from the great depression) was what separated the depositor banks from the investment banks. glass-steagall was repealed in the 1999. reagan was not president in 1999 and im not sure you could even blame his policies for the repeal since bill clinton was president at that time.... also, how is the sub-prime mortgage fiasco a result of trickle down econ? (which is what im assuming you mean by reaganism, correct me if im wrong in my assumption though.) sub-prime mortgage scheme literally poured money into the hands of the demand side of the economy, not the supply side (which is what reaganism/trickle down is normally associated with). this seems like a pov mainly based on buzzwords than actual policy.
in my opinion, the real criminals of the 2008 melt down were the ratings agencies. those pl should have went to jail or been sued into the ground. they knew those securities were not AAA quality...

The criminals were the Federal Reserve, the oversight committees, Fannie and Freddie.

I personally didn't care a great deal of Kamala's answers to 3 specific questions. I also thought the interview was a bit too friendly. I did however thought her economic plan that she laid out earlier in the day was a reasonable response to those like me who had questions about her economic positions. Judging by your response, you must hate what Trump has said when describing his economic plan over the last 2 months. In the ramblings of nonsense regarding childcare, inflation, union jobs/workers, middle-class taxes, growth, deficits, etc.., Was there anything in what he said that would leave you to believe he has a better plan moving forward? Using his words of course, not pundits who consistently make stuff up on his behalf.

The price-gouging answer was actually horrible for those paying attention and I was surprised that Krystal and Sagaar didn't call this out. The premise Kamala presents is that she will reduce costs by going after those companies that price gouge yet the only example she has is "a few companies" that jacked up prices during the pandemic and extreme weather events. The actions of "the few companies" is irrelevant to addressing broad inflation. It is the equivalent of saying you will tackle America's health epidemic by jacking up the taxes on the marshmallow peeps that people have at Easter. Going after someone for doubling the price of generators after a blizzard or hurricane is not "the path forward".
They usually aren't the best with economic analysis (which is a rather large shortcoming)

And there are lots of price gouging laws on the books already. The real question to what gap in existing law is Kamala's proposed policy going to fill?
