"the dude just *oozes* cowboy" LOL I couldn't possibly agree more with this very accurate observation :D but then again, Geoff is such a good performer that he IS the character being portrayed in his (and VoicePlay's!) videos. Hell, ALL of VoicePlay & their collaborators have this quality too. It's absolutely bananas how much talent is contained within VoicePlay and everyone they work with. Phenomenal, all of them.

If you saw Geoff's Ghost Riders you'd know these guys as the same ones, just before they became ghosts. Geoff's vocals are always clear. Something I appreciate as an older listener.

When I first heard this song, back when it was revealed to just his patrons, I was quite taken aback by that first low note, but have to admit that with each time hearing/watching this, it bothers me less and less. I still could quibble about it, but the song remains one of my very favorite songs of Geoff, and the overall beauty of the arrangement means I'm not going to let that one note get in the way of my enjoyment of it. Geoff has been very vocal about saying that you can't focus on having the lowest notes, but to make sure they still sound like music. So that really makes me think his decision to keep in this take was very deliberate, that for some reason he wanted it to sound that way, as he has executed that same note which much less roughness and greater clarity in the past.

Left to right we have: Goff, Daryl, Jeoph, and Jeff - the Ghost Riders before they died and cursed to eternally ride. One of the plug ins for this cover was labeled "Tubular Bells." Most of the costumes from Ghost Riders were in storage and Rick Underwood still had most of the hair pieces saved. This is the first time this particular background set at PattyCake Productions was used. Eli did the lighting design.

Apologies to everyone, I'm continuing to have audio issues and I think it's becoming obvious that I'm going to need a new mic. Toward the end of the reaction, you will notice my mic cuts out on me completely. I think I managed to salvage the video and quiet a few of the rough spots. I hope you all still enjoy the reaction, like and subscribe. Thanks!

I enjoyed the first bass drop the first time I heard Geoff's Unshaken. But, I think it's easier to hear the flow and appreciate the arrangement listening all the way through. That said, yours is a reaction video, and stopping to do commentary is the entire point. What I like about you is that you give your first impression, and then as the song progresses, you're willing to modify your first impression. And, when it comes right down to it, different people like different things. As long as you're not trashing the choices of the artist, I'm fine with opinions differing from mine.

He brought back the 4 ghost riders from his Ghost Riders In The Sky video before they died.
Bucky Buckner suggested this to him when he did Monster Mash. Bucky was his choreographer for that. Geoff listened to and liked it so he put it on his to-do list.
Bucky was the drunken sailor in Voiceplay's Drunken Sailor video.
When he was trying to come up with a song for this month the idea popped into his head to have the ghost Geoff's sing while they were still alive.
    Left to right.....
Goff... Daryl ((my favorite).... Jeoph and Jeff.
U have both versions on my playlist D'Angelo did an awesome job on this too. But agree Geoff's is better, of course 😉

When I first heard this, while I appreciated the artistry, and how beautifully he sings, I really didn’t care for it that much, especially that first heavy note.
I think part of it is because I don’t play the game and I’m not a big western fan. But after listening to a few more times I started feeling the flow better. I understood the story behind it just a little bit just from the lyrics and that helped.
When he takes his hat off just before the “hunter becomes the hunted” line, that’s where it really clicked for me. I’ve known a lot of guys that wear hats and they do not take them off unless they have to. It’s almost as if they feel vulnerable without that hat to kind of hide behind. And the fact that he took off that hat just then made him seem more vulnerable especially with that beautiful line.
By the end of the song they are all wearing their hats again. And for some reason It feels to me like they sang the song, they’re gearing up and they’re going back into battle.

Geoff's first trip to the basement in this song seemed a little jarring to me at first, but I've grown more used to it on several re-listens. The rest of the bass-y goodness always felt absolutely right for this song to me.

Geoff is reprising his characters from the "Ghost Riders in the Sky" video. It was said that these characters are before they became the ghosts.

@@1MannzOpinion And it is just the ghosts in this one. Geoff was behind the camera. He let the guys out on their own and they must’ve gotten into mischief and that’s how they become those ghosts.

I agree with you that the first bass was a bit too much. The rest was amazing as usual. I have not played the game, so I enjoyed this song as a standalone. I assume that few previous songs have not had four Geoffs or so much bass (well, considering Geoff's range) since Kathy and Geoff had covid, and then everyone were really busy with the (Chigago) concert.

No idea if this is true, but for me, I kind of suspect that first low note was done where it was because of the lyric "...Did I hear you break?..." I suspect Geoff's sense of humor with the idea of 'breaking reactors' or at least new reactors who really haven't heard his lows before.
