I have my 823 same colour, nib F, it was a gift from Pilot Italy, it is my favourite fountain pen, I am very happy to have this pen

I had just had my Custom 823 (Smoke) (F) for a few months, and it gained my utmost respect. I was able also to buy another second-hand 823 with a (B) nib. Really wonderful pens. Thanks for your interesting review!

Greetings John, a year on I’m just wondering how you’ve found/are finding it - especially from the mechanical/maintenance aspect of things with the piston mechanism? Many thanks for your vid.

I'm not John, but I've had the 823 for a few years now. Performs flawlessly. If I could only have one fountain pen, it would be this one.

THe pen changed its name during the vidoe from "custom" to "capless".
My favourite pen is a translucent brown Wing Sung 699 piston filler EF nib. It was £25 from China. Very similar appearance and feel, a bit lighter in weight. Writes like a dream!

This pen has rave reviews, but I can't seem to get myself to spend this much for a writing stick

Does your use of the term “writing stick” give you away, I wonder..
