Greetings John, a year on I’m just wondering how you’ve found/are finding it - especially from the mechanical/maintenance aspect of things with the piston mechanism? Many thanks for your vid.
THe pen changed its name during the vidoe from "custom" to "capless". My favourite pen is a translucent brown Wing Sung 699 piston filler EF nib. It was £25 from China. Very similar appearance and feel, a bit lighter in weight. Writes like a dream!

I'm not John, but I've had the 823 for a few years now. Performs flawlessly. If I could only have one fountain pen, it would be this one.

This pen has rave reviews, but I can't seem to get myself to spend this much for a writing stick
