I noticed this yesterday in the aram game. There is also one more bug with Ivern and Rammus. When Daisy is attacking Rammus, and Rammus have Thormail, Ivern will recive dmg.
Daisy and Thornmail/Rammus interaction is intended and it's been in the game since the most recent Ivern mini rework (still 1.5+ years ago) if I recall correctly

I think the reason is because Shaco's ult spawns boxes in death, so maybe the game codes them as the same type of box instead of one being a basic ability and the other being an ult.
Make sense, since his ult clone turns into Ws after death. Simple error of having R call up W's code instead of it being written separately for the sake of an item like Malignance.
In the bridge of progress, a shaco on the enemy team had that item. On the map it was glitched (aoe field), and it was proc-ing in the same area. Most likely to do with his clown dying.
I waited 10 hours ago before making this video public (I was afraid this interaction can break the soloq). But we just got some items statistics available and Malignance Shaco has similar winrate to other items. Not even the best item. Other people have also already posted this interaction. yeah, if i'm not mistaken that is exactly what happens. read somewhere that there's an inv shaco clone ontop of the regular boxes so it does that, not sure if its true though.
How's this even possible? There should be BasicSpell and UltimateSpell classes, and Malignance should just check those, like, if cast spell was UltimateSpell, trigger Malignance. There's no way this can break unless it's programmed completely stupidly.

It's literally one flag, and making sure that it's set to ultimate for one and basic for the other is completely trivial. A reference to the source spell for the pets, for example, which wouldn't require any flagging for the spells themselves. Of course, it's possible that it, as I mentioned, was programmed completely stupidly. Like using a separate flag for every bit of interaction or other massive violations of good practices.

It looks like they want Shaco's R Boxes to proc Malignance not only the explosion, like it currently does. Spaghetti code means LOL doesn't think shaco's R boxes are different than his W box.
I found another bug/feature with Shaco and Malignance: when I ult and auto with the clone, Teemo's theme starts playing. Very funny! (test it in practice tool)
Shacos boxes are still coded like minions instead of abilities and don't proc ability related enhancments (from arena??). This is a nice addition but it's so foul to think of. Maybe it's a forshadow of shacos rework and boxes would be on his R just like teemo has his shrooms?
I have sympathy for this one because that seems like a very easy bug to miss. They probably didn't realize the W boxes and ult boxes are coded the same in some niche way
Ritoards don't know what balance is, all they want to do is break the game. If something is overpowered, they'll give it even more power, and if something is underpowered, they'll nerf it.
probably on choke points and perma CC'ed enemy, it's is already a 1.5~2.5 year old item, it's probably hell balanced already with all the patches passed. as others said, crit shaco has more outplay potential, than hoping the enemy would just stand still on that burning mud.

Honestly shaco needed this, you can get around boxes too easily these days and there is sweepers, only decent shaco players will know how to work with this. Aram shaco numbers need to be adjusted but it gives shaco diversity in SR
Do you know what else procs malignance? Snowball. Ive seen in my gameplay like 7 other basic abilities proc it. Sorry for unable to remember wich champions there were. But there was 1 passive among them.
