Live here for 10 years, and yes - it does get hot, but at least the AC systems can keep the temperature. When i went to dubai in 2012 for visit burj khalifa top observatory was done in 1 day, this guy is to busy he didnt even go there in 20 years, or does not want to go. One of my old work mate working in Dubai told me as a tourist the bling bling looks good, however when you live here you start to see the that its all fake. To even survive socially you have to have the best, so you have to work extra hard, ending up with no work life balance. I guess the people having the best life is locals, ofcourse if you are a princess then its a total other story.

Dubai is not an easy place to live if you are an expat. Rents are very high, the whole standard of living is high and if you are not paid as a CEO or engineer/doctor there should be compromises. From a tourist point of view Dubai is great, for permanent living not so much.

Flying home from Chicago to Phoenix, the reality of the handshake set
in "Who am I to write a book with Donald Trump?" I kept asking myself.
"And what would we write about?"
"Care for a blanker?" the fight attendant asked, snapping me out of my
    turmoil,
"No, chank you," I replied with a smile.
As soon as the flight attendant left, the idea, "We could write about real
    estate," popped into my head.
With that thought, my personal critic chimed in, the critic who had been
torturing me ever since the book idea was proposed. My critic cynically asked,
"You and Donald Trump write a book on real estate? When it comes to real
estate, Donald Trump is in the major leagues, and you're in the Little League.
He builds skyscrapers in New York. And what do you own? A few apartment
houses, a few low-rise commercial buildings and some raw land. Besides, he's
    a billionaire, and you're only a millionaire."
Until now, I had been pretty satisfied with my accomplishments in life.
But when considering a book with Donald Trump, my successes and
accomplishments seemed very small and inconsequential. Instead of feeling
honored to be asked to write a book with Donald Trump, I felt miserable.
"What can we possibly write about?" I asked myself over and over again as the
plane flew from Chicago to Phoenix. $2 million maphite
