When I first heard this song I just started dancing to the beat, where as later on listening to the lyrics was really deep and heart felt. I started reminiscing about my parents divorcing when I was really young, and a lot of emotional events that happened in my life. This song" Hurt" was so relieving, healing, I must have cried over an over. This song was Toni's best work. It was a comeback just the same as her "Man enough for me" which proved at that time that through trials and tribulation you can still rise above, conquer and win! A real artist like that you can't forget their music, or them because they speak from the heart. Their passion speaks for itself....!
