    This is a great little chill-down game (an "Absacker" as we call them in Germany) that you can play at the end of a board game evening or just with people who are inexperienced in boardgaming as it takes just 2 minutes to teach and understand the rules. And it's also a great testimony to Reiner Knizia's amazing talent to find great fun in simple to teach rules.

    This has been a real hit in our group. On the surface it seems like there’s nothing there, but the wrinkles in the gameplay reveal more depth as you play. Thanks for the video.

    Don't get me wrong, I love a heavy euro, but, as a connoisseur of small card games, I really love when you guys play games like this! I got Bandido based off of your play through and can't wait to play it with my niece and nephew! Keep up the great work!

      Peter der Streber They mentioned in the video about coloring up. I think that’s what they said anyways. Turning your white chips into black ones.

    • @HackWeight

      That's just the entire catchup mechanism for letting someone back in the game. Otherwise you really never make any progress if you're behind.

      Mike Krajewski Ok, yeah that makes sense. I didn’t think of that.

    • @hamyncheese
      @hamyncheese 5 лет назад +2

      The rules state that chips may be freely swapped up at any time. Rusty FAILED to mention that and it caused the game to be played badly and it made the game seem half baked. Failing to mention that rule despite at least a few questions and concerns about chip mechanics during game play caused unnecessary confusion. The game seems quite boring regardless of whether or not it is played correctly.

      Aren't they all easy, fast and inexpensive this year? Probably the first year in which the "Kinderspiel des Jahres" winner might be more complex than the SdJ winner.

    • @moyinguis
      @moyinguis 5 лет назад +1

      Well, yes, you’re right, I was comparing with last year’s nominees (I have a hard time explaining Azul to many people). And for example, I’m from México and the other two games won’t work for my group because not everybody speak english so the only language independent game is LAMA and I think those factors, like being inclusive (language, colorblind friendly, etc), should start being relevant.

    Being the only single player (competitive play) game nominated for Spiel des Jahres makes it slightly different from the other 2 games. I felt that the number of players playing does change the strategy used to play.

      There's 8 of each card in the deck, I believe, so you would just need 2 decks of cards and use 1-7 (or whatever card you want for the llama) of each deck.

      Thx for pointing this out. According to the rules, yes. But it does feel like "drawing" should give you that advantage.
      Makes sense to me that everyone else folded, so Nikki should be the start player, but yeah, they mimic what it says in the rulebook, so even though Nikki drew a card and Rusty folded, he was the last player to play a card, so he should have been the start player.
