Good day, I just want to say that midway of this video, I feel immensely happy and grateful that I was able to learn so much about Spanish. To be frank, I only watch english phrases and their equivalent in Spanish, and less to these videos where you teach us on how to kind of make our own sentences using comprehensive opening phrases. Muchas gracias. I am very grateful to you by creating such immensely helpful and passionate teaching videos. 💗
I'm sure this is just a case of "Don't try to apply English rules to Spanish" but, I was wondering why It would be "Necesito descansar después de trabajar tanto." I was wondering why the gerund form of trabajar (trabajando) wouldn't be used instead? Unfortunately for me, I not only like to know how something is said but, also WHY something is said a certain way. Often it breaks down to "Spanish is Spanish, English is English" But, sometimes the reason *why* makes sense to me. Your videos have been one of the most helpful resources for me when it comes to expanding my knowledge on Spanish. (I just haven't been able to WRITE in Spanish yet.) But, at least I am understanding more written and spoken Spanish. Gracias por todo Liliana!
I get that confused as well like in the statement “I have to go to work”. Here in English work is a noun, as in work and not to do work. But in your sentence it’s “doing so much work” seems to make sense. Tip for you: One video I saw say to avoid saying things like” thank you for helping me”, “gracias por ayudandome” instead it should be “gracias por ayudarme”. Other videos suggest using the gerund literally “estoy mirando a la tele” when that action is happening, because you have alternatives like “Voy a casa” for “I am going home” espero que sean útiles.
