Great video. Thank you!
The GAIA-2 really got my attention. Thank you for another informative vid and all the best for 2024 (new studio music, maybe?) Cheers, Megan.
I own a korg wavestate Mk2 which I absolutely love. But for some reason I’m still itching for a Juno X played it a few times love the vintage bass/pad sounds😍 eventually going to buy it
Juno X and Gaia2 are my choice. Good recommendations
The GAIA 2 is incredible. Central to my setup now.
Juno X is great.
I just got a Juno DS61 for 500 CAD here in Canada, from a good friend (A very good deal, they go for 900 used). Not entirely happy with it though. They're 1495 with taxes new, nowadays. But I'm finding it a bit clunky/complex to use as a noob who likes playing solo live stuff (one man band style.. no friends to play with haha). Not accustomed to using synths, so my critiques may be irrelevant or nonsense. The Juno DS was so cheap I had to buy it from my friend. But I'm wondering if there's a better option out there for me for jamming alone as a one man band... You need to program in things a lot, like if you want more than 2 layers. I'm also not impressed with 99% of the sounds (Only one good piano, plus the fantasia, which is very sad and disappointing). It does have some good sounds, but they're few and far between and arranged weirdly throughout... the best sounds seem scattered at random and hard to find (The DGX220, while not comparable at all, did seem to array the better sounds first). You can't use the favorite button when using dual/split, which is annoying, having to manually find sounds when doing dual or split... also you can't dual and split at the same time (I think... at least not with the buttons), which would be cool. It'd be good if I could layer with just buttons instead of needing to program stuff. 2 layers is limiting. You can do 16 but need to program it in a performance. Be nice if there were just more buttons for extra layers. And more than 2 split points would be cool (I think you can program this as a performance, but again, some work, and not great for live improvization). The drum machine is pretty limited. Perhaps I need a separate drum machine. Liking the Juno DS61 for some stuff. Definitely an upgrade from a DGX220 and my MAudio Keystation 88ES which I use with FL Studio and VSTs which is how I'm used to making music the past 20 years at a very amateur level.

😆😆😆 What I
I really don't understand why so many electronics are needed on keyboards ... what are these manufacturers thinking ... well, none of us is a sound engineer ... to play with these potentiometers ... this is serious cretinism ...
_"why so many electronics are needed on keyboards"_
cause those who cannot play keyboards they just dick around with knobs instead while an either arpeggiator or sequencer is running. So taking into account the fact that vast majority cannot play keyboard you won't expect much sales offering pieces of gear that have empty and slick panels anymore.
then this is simply not for you i guess
I just asked why it's like that ... of course it's not for me, I'm a guitarist ... but we also have such crap in our offer ... a lot of potentiometers on LPs ... well, life is too short for us to research how to use it ...shouldn't it be the other way around ..to make it simple ..to create music that is pleasing to the ears ...and not to waste precious time that we don't have ...to close ourselves off and isolate ourselves, we don't socialize (BECAUSE WE ARE A SOCIAL BEING AND SOCIALIZATION IS VERY NECESSARY TO US)...this is all expensive, BIG SHIT THANKS!!
but you know what? There are other people including me who like these specific things that you don't like or don't find useful.@@alendovzan6768
LOLOLOLOL People kill to have one knob per function. One day you will understand. The knobs are how you put human expression into the machines.
