It's not just that EVs are growing faster, it's that ICE car sales are not growing at all....they are actually shrinking and have been for a couple of years.
You're right - however there's certainly a promise from the incoming Presidential team to make things... tougher... for EVs. - That doesn't mean every Republican is anti EV!
It shouldn’t be. I never understand why people who rage against being controlled by others, big state, big companies etc, then go on to toe the big state big company line. I’ve always thought the partial energy independence you can gain from producing, storing and using your own power would be exactly the sort of thing many Republican voters want. Forget the environment, that’s a side benefit. Free yourself from big corp energy companies by making your own energy. There’s a reason big oil wants wind and solar to die, it gives the little guy an additional input on their own lives and reduces our dependence on them. Renewables are bizarre. They work for both lefty tree huggers and right wingers who value their independence. In a world that insists people pick a side and stick to it to the death, the fact that something exists that both sides can benefit from yet they fight each other makes me want to 🤦♂️
Absolutely. For example I know a slew of LGBT republicans. Who were told that if they really LGBT they have to be Democrats. Which is equally ludicrous. There are loads of times when I have worked across the political divide to achieve a goal. It wasn't long ago that bipartisan government was a good thing. OK I'm may not have been born in the states like my siblings & I now reside in the EU. But "give me the child to age of Seven and I'll give you..." Still works, I still of Boston as home.

I’m excited for the solar EV vehicle Aptera. Wish there were more on the market like that, small, lighter, focus on high tech, looks, cutting edge (sort of). Never been a ‘car guy’ but… 😅
It always takes something to go first and prove the market, here's hoping Aptera can stick the landing and blow stuck attitudes to car design out of the water.
How funny, my local group actually posted this last night - the thumbnail isnt you so i wondered what it was. if it'd been your pic i would've been more likely to click on it! I'm not super active - i go to car meetups about every 2-3 months if they are within 20 minutes. i volunteered once for a 2-hour shift at our booth at a the local auto show, but the noise was so overwhelming for me i was pretty much non-functional for the next 2 days.
I wonder if there is a group for me. I got a "21 Leaf with just under 39k miles. The car was used in Sothern California. In trying to establish a service-history I discovered , the battery, wheels, and tires are new. A real pro job of windows tinting was removed and I would hope to get much less tint than the factory provided in the backlight.
1)Remember to check how much the group does and how it spends it's money 2) make sure they are pro EV and not just the EVs that they like 3) make sure it only cares about EV not that you vote red or blue or your region or your views on who sleeps with who
Do you know if there are adaptors for chademo to to the Euro standard CCS? As that opens up buying (or Inporting from Japan) a Nissan EV to me. I never knew they existed!!
Join or start a bike/e-bike advocacy group. Get to know your local planners and reinforce the work they do to improve public transit and bike and pedestrian infrastructure. Ride your e-bike to your local EV group meeting and remind everyone that e-bikes are multitudes more effective at zeroing emissions and living within our limited resources. IMO, this is much more important than convincing ICE SUV drivers to buy EV SUVs. I know a lot of EV advocates are rooting for Aptera and for efficiency, but few are acknowledging the inability for unsustainable full sized EVs to persist in our zero carbon present/future. EV groups presently are unfortunately advocating for the continued reliance on full sized cars/SUVs/pickup, with lower but nowhere near zero emissions.

Despite all of the FUD, even in the US the market for EVs is strong and still growing at a faster rate than the market for ICE cars.
It's not just that EVs are growing faster, it's that ICE car sales are not growing at all....they are actually shrinking and have been for a couple of years.

Very true. I've participated in several EV events having my car on display, talking to people and also having people test drive my car. So much fun!!!

What an uplifting, positive and encouraging video! Hopefully more folks will join Drive Electric Dayton after watching this. 😉👍

It was nice to hear you say my favourite positive self descriptor, 'neuro-spicy'. 😊
Great video!!!
With Elon Musk effectively running the US Government, the "Trump Administration's" goal is not to be anti-EV, it is to prevent competition with Tesla.
Explain the Hillsdale College FUD. That could take about an hour.
Just so sad to see the MIA CEO of Tesla embracing FUD up to his gullet every star spangled night. Such is America.
This is America - Childish Gambino
Thanks
I am couple of groups, EV and Brush care in the local area.

I gave an e-bike talk at my local EV group. That's usually how they work. Members develop topics to discuss or events to participate in.
It seems to me that EV enthusiasts need to stop supporting companies that are funding the FUD about EVs.
