It's literally the best explanation of any mathematical theorem that I have ever come across.

Good explanation from a great teacher but I prefer to teach that one of the triangles missing angle is (180-2xAlpha) and the other triangle is missing the angle (180-2×Beta). Then the angle subtended at the centre of the circle is 360-(180-2xAlpha)-(180-2×Beta). The 180s cancle out the 360 leaving (2xAlpha)+(2×Beta)=2×(alpha + beta) so it's double. Love your videos Mr Woo!

I find it crazy how he gets few likes when he makes more people understand The concept of the topic. I for one want him as my teacher

Hey Eddie. Unrelated question here but it has caused a lot of controversy. What is 6÷2(1+2) ?

This is one of those gotcha PE(MD)(AS) questions lots of people seems to think is an essential problem in math. It's not. It's more a convention to simplify notation. You should learn the orders of operation because this is what is used by other mathematicians and more importantly software. But it is simply that, a convention. The more interesting question is why such a convention was chosen. I am not certain the historical reason, but I would put my money that it has something to do with the importance of polynomials. Also, the reason why multiplication/division (and addition/subtraction) are performed left to right is that they are essentially the same operations, eg division by 2 is the same as multiplication by 1/2 (and subtraction by 3 is the same as addition by negative 3). So the answer to your question is 9. You can check google to verify, since google follows the same conventions.

@@MathProofsable Agreed, and perhaps more to the point - Mathematicians don't divide, rather they multiply by inverses.
Division is both conspiracy and illusion!!

      (2+1) = 3
      6/2 = 3
3(3) is the same as 3*3 which is 9
