Have you taken another look at Gloomwood, it just went into early access. I have been following the development updates and, if you liked the original Thief games, I think you will be impressed. Its designed with so much care and attention to detail.
If am correct and I am ultra kill is the same as doom eternal but harder you might be saying why? Sure inf. Ammo but you can still die quick. the mechanics are independent like doom eternal yet different it can parry you can use it to do more dmg and also use quick combos like shotgun plus punch equals explosive so what has happened to you? I thought you like fast-paced retro shooters that make you wanna use other weapons ultra kill has it don't say you can solo it with one gun not exactly you will die more than normal just use the other weapons to get the job done easy instead of clinging to one weapon ya know that also reminds me of another game called doom 2016 you like that to right? Remember this is coming from a doom fan and cod fan (also assassins creed) so for once just be what you were instead of being the guy you hated you became the very thing you wanted to get rid of in a way heh....
I really like the idea that the constant distortion of space and time is a factor in the game's difficulty, and that enemy awareness is a priority. In a way the game reminds me of a black hole, at least in terms of the warping aspect.
Not only does it look cool but its actually a really clever mechanic. That fisheye lens effect allows the fov to be cranked up extremely high without zooming the camera out too far or making objects distorted, its literally like having eyes on the sides of your head once you get used to it.
I'm gonna buy the game , the visuals completely took me by surprise I've never seen anything like it . The combat looks really chaotic , the fov is crazy wide , I'm gonna have a lot of fun playing this . Great work Mayo .
looks very cool, i like that every player mechanic is essentially based around your basic attack and "grab" function, but it switches it up in an innovative way that looks fun as hell. the trippy artstyle is also a plus for me, as games like that often get me really immersed
A month ago, before I watched your videos, I never would have considered actually trying to play Hyper Demon myself - I would have told myself "That looks insanely difficult, and I'm certainly not a good enough gamer to play it" But your channel has really opened my eyes to the fun that can come from learning difficult games, so I gave it a shot and I'm having a blast with every incremental improvement Your extensive Doom coverage has made 'High-Level' play feel a lot more accessible and attainable, rather than a nebulous realm reserved for the Gaming Elite
i never played DD but i do see HD has visual attract elements that make spatial awareness features that look like they really help with timing and judgment of attacks, the ring around your player is something i would love to see in more games to give accurate distance fields. like if i could tell where my effective range was and where my enemies max range was i'd be more effective at WOW for instance.
I agree with the comparison here, the gameplay has been evolved to make itself faster, more focused, and has way more skill expression to boot. I really think hyper demon is one of the most unique high score games I've ever played and I want to see people take this game to its absolute limits. I saw the world record one guy got on like day 2 of the game coming out and it was already insane compared to what I was able to do. It's fascinating just how far people can go with the right set of tools in a game that encourages experimentation.
Why mayo with each new video focuses more and more on critics and not on those who watch it. Apart from the very beginning, the video is excellent, it just scares me what will happen in the future. I would like him to become calm and objective again as before.

5:22 it doesn't do more damage based on the orbs you collected. More rails is purely for the combos, either using reflected rails where now you have more rails (with 3 you can kill any standard major enemy in the game in 1 combo), you can use it on big gems and bombs, which creates bigger effect on how many rails you have loaded, or you can use it for a stagger aoe on specific enemies (the big skull enemies, an airborne stun scuttler, a snake with a single head left, a spider with a single gem left), which is also bigger the more rails you have loaded.
I tried Devil Daggers but every time I had to restart I just felt it was way too slow to get to the exciting part. This game looks much more frenetic, which is awesome.

Pretty cool, I had a convoy with someone about mechanics and they always say it's the players fault for playing "unfun", as if to saw Devs shouldn't account for players that find a simple techs to them through the game, if that's the case why work on creating complex and fun mechanics when there's an easy win button or strategy the player can press at any moment.
Ohh I haven't seen Devil Daggers in a long time. I almost forgot it. I will have to consider this one, since it seems like the developers wanted to bring something unique to the market. I have a partner who gets disoriented easily in "normal" first-person, so I can't imagine how they would react...
Too bad that Doom eternal died. Wrong decission were made. No arcade mode like in Doom 2016. Battle mode is just weak, because it's just ONE game mode. Horde mode isn't what people expected, not randomized enough to make it interesting and bad system pointing that doesn't make TOP player on the list the best doom eternal players, those are who played horde mode enough to know how to use this system point on his advantage, not a skill based pointing system... The game itself is realy good but I;m dissapointed that we didn't got all master levels, no pointnig system like in arcade mode so it isn't making it replayable to get all Slayer coins/medals or to get more points to see how you made yourself better in this map.
I honestly agree with most of that. I wish Battlemode had Slayers-only and Demons-only modes in addition to the standard 2v1. I like Horde Mode as a mini-campaign and I love the random weapon roulette, but I do wish we had a standard infinite survival mode too. I will say, I think when it comes to arcade style and high scores, Horde Mode is supposed to help people get that fix, but I can totally see how it's not what you're looking for. 2016's arcade mode is way easier to jump into.
I don't know way you even needed to bring Doom Eternal in the first place but whatever. I can see that on Consoles yes but on PC not so much with mods and such . I will agree that Battlemode needed more content at this point definitely.

It's a strange feeling, but once you play it yourself, the visuals of hyper demon go from incomprehensible noise to genuinely one of the clearest, most "lucid" visual languages in a first person game. It's to the point where I'd say that without all the crazy distortions, flashes etc the game would actually be harder to play. Super recommend it! :)
Hyper Demon is so good. It is better than Doom Eternal imo. Although, I agree that Doom Eternal is more readable... Hyper Demon is very chaotic, but it's why I enjoy it so much.

I honestly agree, doom eternal is a really good game, but the multiplayer, and horde mode is a disappointment.
The demons in this game feel so alive, thay should make Metroid Prime 2 Echoes style scan logs, with small lore bits about them.
