- Watch the men's 2019 U.S. Open Club Championship between New York PoNY and Seattle Sockeye! This game originally aired on ESPN 2 on Sunday, August 4 from Blaine, MN.
It took me this long to realize that the PoNY coach Bryan Jones is the same Bryan Jones that used to commentate with Evan Lepler and that's why I don't hear him commentating anymore... jeez. But that's so awesome!
1:03 these two announcers look like they’re in love with eachother
42:56 is nobody going to talk about this? Yes, I know, It is just a high-five but still...
5:11 opening pull
1:00:49 I’m in love with that cut by freechild ❤️ that’s a beaut
Here’s an idea.. in between scores, run quick segments of player interviews?? Otherwise I’ll keep 10 second fast-forwarding 🤷♂️
Or decrease the time allowed between score and the next pull to 30 seconds. There's no reason that even semi organized teams can't put out a line in 30 seconds.
yeah I did SOME amount of fast forwarding.
1:12:13 Dylan Freechild at his best
1:11:59 fantastic read 👌
What an upset! Great game!
Hey anyone see how close these two are in the beginning of the game. Fellas, they can zoom out, look like you're sharing a car seat.
looking back that 14-12 D line shoulda been mickle, lindsley, kocher, kittredge, babbit, little, then maybe a jagt
55:22 second half
10:11 the rip of that hammer. Sheesh.
Big travel by Mickle on the assist around 35min
Are you talking about 34:40? What about that was a travel? I'm new to the AUDL scene
Kevin Hale AUDL?? U trippin brah. But yes If you slow it down you can see he travels when throwing the assist. It’s close but there are multiple replay angles and he clearly lifts and moves his foot during the throwing motion BEFORE release. Most clear around 35:07. Call those travels people!! Probably one of the most common types of ‘cheating’ in ultimate. Also the way Mickle catches it and then pivots around on his right foot before setting his left foot as his ‘pivot’ is also technically a travel, I think. You’re only supposed to change your speed after catching, before setting your pivot and he pretty clearly changes direction before setting his intended pivot. No one would really see or call that in live play but the travel on the throw should have been brought back, esp considering it was an assist.
Javi Escasa It didnt change the final result of the game but considering it was for a score? Yea that’s big IMO
@@kingniles Sorry I've been watching videos from both USA Ultimate and AUDL... But I think the argument could be made that he was still turning around and had not set his pivot foot as his right foot. Once he was set, then the left foot was set as the pivot and is not a travel when he steps before the release
This was on the ocho today 😤
thorne runs kinda weird
FINALLYYYY
19:25 is Brian Jones coaching Sockeye? But wearing a Pony shirt?
Nah, he's the coach for Pony
Lmao at this description 24:16
How badly would these teams destroy the college champs? I'm guessing about 15-6.
