I'm grateful for this upload, but now that the band have announced that they will cease to work together "for the foreseeable future" at the end of 2022 I wonder if it might be a suitable time for others who enjoy their music to do as I have and support the artist by purchasing their CDs? It seems like a suitable and timely way of saying thankyou. Just a polite suggestion :)

One of the BEST openings for any album in a while. I love so much how nonchalantly it pulls you in to this rhythmic jam and smooth work of everyones instruments. LOVE IT.
I never say this about music but I can confidently say this whole album SLAPS! From the guttural rhythmic bellows of the big horns to the constant yet dynamic back beats of drums and the cerebral spoken word that rings true now more than ever I can't stop listening to this.
*Wow, this is amazing!!* I saw this cd at my local library yesterday and felt drawn to it for some reason, having never heard or heard of "sons of kemet." Sadly i didnt check it out and forgot about it. Then, this morning youtube put it up as a "recommendation for you," which is odd because i only played metal albums yesterday. I remembered the cover so i hit "play" and now im on the last song, in a great mood from starting my day with this album!! *dont sleep on this album, its perfect!!*

At moments, this has such a traditional Macedonian sound. Reminds me of Streetlight Manifesto at moments, too. Jazz beats. Bit of African beats, too. So good. Hard to describe, but such an amazing sound.

@@mr.wunderful4361 How so?
asderc1 Harriet Tubman was a gun owning national rifle Association member Republican., Angela Davis is a communist convict.

C'est juste que les instruments sont considérés comme " occidentaux" mais la musique ne l'est pas je pense !

Those seamless fades and that baritone underlining the trumpet, ohmygawd, I had no clue about this band til 20 min ago but now I'm a superfan

Tuba jazz? well that's just excellent.
A return to the roots. Before the double bass gained prominence, Tuba was the bass instrument.
very interesting, suggestions for more music examples?
A number of the tunes on John Coltrane's "Like Sonny" album features tuba, by Ray Draper.
