*Updates and Responses* *BTODtv* In various comments on this video, they said it was a copy/paste error and that I mischaracterized them to get views *My response to BTODtv* : I left a lot of this out to not detract from the main point of the video, but here's more context for BTODtv: I wouldn't have called them out if I saw incorrect disclosures here and there. They actually DID have a proper disclosure in many of their 2024 videos, but the MAJORITY of videos in 2023, 2025, and 2026 had the same misleading disclosures like the ones I showed in the video (their affiliate links are always impeccable though). *They stated publicly in 2023 that they make $10M+ a year with 10M+ views from their YT channel* As shown in the video, some people won't watch my video and not trust me after seeing my affiliate disclosure regardless of what I have to say (MANY RUclipsrs who disclose experience the same comments). *But again, this is the viewer's right and why consumer protection laws exist and they should have all the facts before deciding to watch or purchase anything online* Potentially millions did not get to make that decision due to improper disclosures. BTODtv has a bigger team than most, yet even solo RUclipsrs make sure their disclosures are correct. BTODtv's team always made sure their affiliate links were pristine, but clearly didn’t bother to check their disclosures. I am NOT saying their content or chair business is bad. I am saying that a "whoopsies, oh and we did nothing wrong" response to something going on for years and after earning tens of millions, is in my opinion, a dodging of accountability. *UrAvgConsumer* They've added multiple sponsorship disclosures to their LiberNovo video. As I said in the beginning of this video, I personally don’t think this matters since the kickstarter is long over. *Noticing a lot of comments saying UrAvgConsumer clearly said it so you're wrong* The whole point of the FTC requiring creators to clearly and obviously disclose is to protect *you.* If you think him saying it at the end of a 17 minute video meets this definition even after I showed most people are gone before then...then God help us all. This type of thinking is why companies like LG thinks it's OK to put disclaimers on the back of their fridge boxes and then say "it's your fault for not reading it. It was clearly on the box". Yes this is a real situation. *Regarding google AI use* People pointed out our use of google overview. We used google’s overview 3 times. Each time, i did additional research to make sure things were accurate. Here are the 3 instances. 1. Average views to like ratio: we asked google about the average likes per thousand views, but i actually asked and looked at other review channels and noticed the like ratio was lower. That’s why I said 20 likes per thousand views for review channels. 2. Retention graph - I didn't even use AI for this - if you watch closely, a second source was used to show the retention graph fall off. My editor used the AI overview to help with those who prefer text explanation over an image. 3. Average amount paid for a sponsorship - the numbers google showed are in line with what I receive for an integrated sponsorship. The amounts are actually higher for a dedicated video, but the overall point was pretty clear.
1. You admitted you didn’t give them a chance for a rebuttal 2. You said UAC broke a non-disclosure law when he literally disclosed the sponsorship at the end of the video. Naw this is the purest form of hating I’ve ever seen 🤣🤣🤣
you are really dumb and make stupid videos. i dont like averageconsumer, he makes terrible videos too... but saying because he said the sponsoship at the end that it was illegal is a really dumb thing to say.
The disclosure was inconsistent, due to copy and pasting that part of older descriptions. I'm not denying it needs to be resolved. Using brand names in the disclaimer versus a simple disclaimer like yours LINKS TO EVERYTHING*Affiliate links cost you nothing, but gives me a small commission which keeps this channel going! would be much easier to maintain. We will likely switch to something similar. Your assumption that it was done to deceive is wrong. We provide a ton of value in our content and people make purchases from the links because of that -Greg
Niche markets gain the advantage with being niche, so doing these scammy things goes under the radar. The law is only as good as its enforcement. So you are seeing how far the law reaches in its enforcement. It is something I noticed entrepreneurs do to exploit market opportunities.
Honestly, Ahnestly is THE chair guy. No one else does review as in depth as him. I bought a more affordable chair by his recommendation. I stopped having back pains for the past 2 years since I bought it. Everyone else wants to sell you their Herman Miller commissions. Ahnestly wants you to sit comfortably.
@naveed.n.8000 i don't think this is interesting enough for charlie to cover it. some guy tried to post it to his subreddit, but the title he put sounded so stupid that i just ignored it, lol. he hit the filter because his account was brand new. who trusts a brand new account saying 'charlie needs to see these youtubers scamming people made by a chair youtuber'. when one has zero context lol hmmm, now that i think about it, it might be silly and random enough.
You’re low iq if you think this is about office chairs😭😭 it’s clearly not about that, it’s about the horrible practice of hiding sponsorships for monetary gain. People like you are why some people never go out of oppression, you don’t even KNOW what it’s about
Damn I hardly watch this kind of stuff except for when I think about replacing my chair which I inevitably don't end up doing. But who knows how many channels like this I gave traffic to without knowing that they were hiding sponsorships. That sucks
Behind are the days when you would go to RUclips to see actual product reviews because written reviews were just bot-lists... Now YT with the help of AI is basically the same thing with background music and sound.
yeah most of the reviews these days are softball product previews, carefully crafted to maximize interest and minimize suspicion on the part of the viewer. These product 'reviewers' need to put food on the table, and the companies behind these products have them over a barrel, and little by little push the envelope with a youtuber, slicing away at their dignity until they're just cheap marketing.
Well.... Where there's money to be made, people will make money... I understand the "following a content creator" mentality, did the same for years, but eventually I just realized a bunch of shit I saw were just ads, ads and more ads. Still subbed to some product channels, but nowadays, if it's a video about a product (like LTT ShortCircuit) I just don't watch it, and if I ever need to get an opinion on a product, I'll look up the videos, forums threads, reddit posts, and make up my mind. This shit is addicting as fuck, but I'm glad nowadays I recognized this and I'm capable of stepping away.
second Chairgate I've seen (the first was shortly after Reggie Fils-Aime left Nintendo and people saw how bad the chair in his office was and then requested Nintendo give him a better chair as a going-away gift.)
Holy shit you cringe virgin. Not every person, place, thing, location, animal, cloud, tree, and idea is "bro" We don't need every sentence to be "bro (restate video content)"
I don't know why the algorithm suggested a chair review channel but I'm glad it did. Not because I'm after a chair but because this is a fantastic video. Definitely sub-worthy.
Maybe the robot overlords determined your chair is causing issues you might not be aware of and is gradually steering you towards a chair upgrade. Long hours at the desk, maybe phone detected a slight difference in your stride when its in your pocket, that kind of tinfoil hat dystopian analytic data.
10:49 in my mind when someone says they "partnered with X" I immediately think that they helped with something to make that product or they're giving you a special deal or offer, for example if a RUclipsr partnered with a 3D printer company then they'll usually give you a combo deal of the 3d printer plus filament or $100 off the printer something to incentives the purchase. If a RUclipsr partnered with a company giving the viewers a deal it be cool but instead they just put a hidden affiliated link to earn of the commission then that's shady and immediate lost of trust for me
I don't either since I just won a chair. LOL. I am mainly watch to see why BOTD is included as I have checked out their content and enjoyed it. The other channels mentioned are unknown to me.
I do but these days I don't really bother with chair reviews. I have a very simple rule/solution to this problem: 1. Avoid gaming chairs like the plague. 2. Buy one of those director office chairs. They just kick ass
@NiSHAN256 It can be both. Most illegal things are shady. In the US there are many acts that judges have ruled as not illegal, even though they violate the letter of the law. Sometimes they rule a violation is _de minimus,_ which means too small to matter. This is particularly common for shady practices like using the vague word "partnership" when the law gives a list of acceptable terms including "affiliate", but not "partnership". So definitely shady, only probably illegal.
@louisverges7092it's a legal requirement. They are breaking actual laws in their country of operation. You as the viewer might not care but the legal system does. If they're good enough to make legit money, then why bother being disingenuous by avoiding mandatory legal disclaimers?
I'm not. They've been doing stuff like this for a while. They're not just a channel. They're an ergo office furniture company. They sell rebranded chairs and desks and run attacks on their competitors on websites like LTT and reddit.
i actually stumbled across a tiktok live with one of the btod guys, the dude with the mustache, shilling cheap terrible chinese scooters from tiktok shop. this is not off brand of them at all
Sometimes I add non-affiliate links if the product is good and it’s not sold via portal with affiliates. But if my links are affiliates it’s clearly stated!
But that doesn't excuse them for not disclosing it. That's you being savvy and protecting yourself. It's certainly good practice, but the onus is still on them to correctly disclose such links.
As someone who did buy a chair after viewing multiple reviews, I ultimately bought it after watching your video on it, and also based on the fact that you clearly list the negatives of the products. It's a customers job to do due diligence before making a purchase but also a reviewers job to disclose if it's sponsored and the affiliations.
People who make lots of money sitting in their chair are willing to spend lots of money if they think you can make their life slightly better by selling them a new chair
@theSato got a really nice office chair on clearance this summer and I genuinely can’t believe how much better the experience is. I sit down and think “god I love this chair” which is bananas but it’s true. If you ever find a chair from an office furniture brand (like the business to business type) for a price you’d buy at - do it my friend you won’t regret it.
I thought this when this video came out, but I've seen these channels before when looking into chairs and was really irritated that they were clearly being shady and not disclosing sponsorships. Props for calling them out.
Yeah and saying affiliate links also isn't proper disclosure. They have to say they get commission from the links and it has to be disclosed before any links, not at the end of the description like they usually do, also, they verbally have to say it in the video. If they say links in the video they have to say something like "I have affiliate links where I make a commission if you buy using that link." This is outlined in FTC, EU and Canadian advertising rules.
Years ago I bought my first expensive chair (Aeron) after watching your review and comparisons, so I trust you. Own these frauds. The tech ones I’m already aware of since I’ve been in it for well over a decade.
I consider myself to be super honest as a tech reviewer, but had no idea about the affiliate laws! I am in Australia though. Adding it to my descriptions of past videos 🤣 thanks man.
Yeah, from what I've gathered just Googling it briefly, Australia made this a legal requirement in 2021. Good on you for recognizing your failure and fixing it, though, instead of just continuing until you personally got caught. I think that shows good character and wish you and your channel well!
@s75againif you have ever watched one of his videos, you would know law is one of the least important things to ever cross his mind. But he does always say when something is sponsored or given to him for free. Its solely the links thing
@s75again Why would he? "youtuber" isn't a trained profession, it's mostly just random people who decide to start making home videos about stuff they like. A lot of them don't know about laws until they actually get issued a C&D or someone tries to strike their channel or sue them.
Your video (rather your Reddit post) and the honesty I sensed in it caused me to back the chair the very same day (June 24th, 2025). I was backer #745. The chair didn't arrive until late Jan 2026, so your warning about the kickstarter aspect of it was on the money. The chair itself is amazing though.
Well done. Thank you for calling out those “bad examples”. I think Matthew Moniz is the only one of them I’ve heard of before, and I’m not even sure I‘ve watched any of his videos. But it’s always a public service to call out bad actors. I have no issue with sponsored videos, when: 1. It’s clearly disclosed, on screen, early on (preferably by using the checkmark AND verbally disclosing it early in the video). 2. The person is doing an actual review, not just an ad, with no limitations or editorial reviews by the sponsor. I want honest opinions, both pro and con. 3. The reviewer is open and honest about all of the above. I also have no issue with affiliate links, again, as long as they are clearly disclosed, in the text before the links, and preferably mentioned in the audio of the video referring to the links.
Fr. Watched some of his stuff for a bit, but pretty quickly stopped when it was all super unrealistic. Ended with a bad taste in my mouth and now I know why lol
Sponsorships have ruined RUclipsrs. Can't trust anyone. RUclipsrs, Streamers, Gamers, everyone cheats and lies these days for views. Maybe it's time the entire industry hides view counts.
There are plenty of honest people doing honest reviews. It is entirely appropriate to call out dishonest people. It is disingenuous to say oh well never mind because "everyone cheats and lies these days." Most people do not cheat and lie and there is no excuse for those who do.
@j_taylor I would strongly disagree. Games, Streaming and RUclips have reached a level of maturity where its no longer "up and coming" people doing this as something on the side with passion and thus care about integrity but massive "known" personalities who have been around for over a decade and have now become nothing but sells outs for companies. Literally every leader board of any ranked game is filled with steamer cheaters who have been banned multiple times, go to any game and search for yourself and the norm will be streamer cheaters infesting the place. Same for all these RUclipsrs, the well know ones are now just shells for brands, a far cry from what the entire point of a regular person reviewing something on youtube was for. This is how the world is now and there is noway you haven't noticed the reduction in quality for everyone of these 3 million+ sub reviews, they tell you almost nothing real about the product, if you went back 10 years on their own channels and watched a old review, it would be night and day. They all read like ads now.
This is about "office chair reviewer drama". Many paid sponsor RUclips channel viewbot to commit fraud. RUclips and the companies that payout need to crack down on this.
The fallout can already be seen on one of the channels. Comments getting turned off on videos and descriptions wiped from them as well. When making good money isn't enough and you just have to have more and more...
The key is to follow youtubers who are OPEN. I started my channel specifically because I was tired of PAID youtube. TBH you tube income isnt great, so I rely on Affiliate link usage... but i also TELL people when im using them and where. Furthermore I have made it the LAW of my channel to NEVER take sponsors... Tell yourself, if the "reviewer" is being sponsored for the "review" is it a review? I tell companies, you send I review... that's the end of the agreement. And TBH I buy a LOT of the stuff i review, especially the expensive stuff I get offered money a LOTTTTT from companies (which i turn down), clearly there are other youtubers my size or much larger who DO take money
@4@450M3.7yeah that’s why they are allegations. you ever see a journalist report allegations about literally anything and then say “everything in this article is my opinion”? obviously not that sounds dumb asf even if they are wrong they don’t get sued because slander, defamation, libel, take your pick, don’t apply in these journalistic circumstances if you’re reporting clearly labelled allegations
@p@philipellingtonll one the only true allegations here are view boting the rest are facts. While yes the low ratio and graphs COULD mean they are it’s not concrete evidence. So yeah it’s his OPINION that they are view boting. Let’s say you think some guy is a murder. You point out his habits and mannerisms are those that are very close to a murders does that mean it’s not your opinion since you have REASONS you think that. Allegations can come in form of opinions. The thing about allegations is they’re usually without evidence which he does have and nothing he said in this video wasn’t true. I could share the opinion that I believe these channels are in the wrong and these channels are view boting. 2 things can be true at one time
I think many of us already realize short links are affiliate links, and that clicking on them gives financial advantages to streamers. It's pretty likely, I'd say,. that the channel just pastes in their usual info texts to a video. But sure, the disclaimer about affiliate links should also be standard issue in those cut and pastes. The alleged viewbotting and shoddy or nonexistent disclosure about sponsorship however are much more problematic. Viewbotting would be basically stealing money from their sponsors.
Thanks for the content and your honesty about sponsorship. A few years ago, I was on the fence about purchasing an Aeron chair, after watching your video on the Aeron, I decided to purchase. I can say that it one of the best purchases for my home office, which was the Herman Miller Aeron Logitech Gaming version with Atlas headrest.
Wow holy crap - Dan Ahn coming after the big boys. Thanks for your work on this one man. When people are about to spend large amounts of money on things that impact their health, and as the economy gets worse, honesty is critical.
And those so called big boys should be held accountable . Many of them have a strong ego and think they own youtube… when youtube has become their “career”, they should follow rules
I love that THIS is how I find out about youtube chair channels. Also kudos for having such integrity around this situation. It's worrying how many people are happy misleading their followers for money.
I’m glad you called this out. I left the tech scene a couple years ago because I found myself buying things left and right because of stuff like this. But I do not regret my embody chair because of you. Love it
I am happy to have bought the libernovo omni after having viewed the reviews of your channel only. Keep up the good and honest work. You literally may have saved my back by getting me of my old chair.
Antics like this are often indicative of erroneous behavior. If they are willing to do hide affiliation and viewbot they are also likely willing to give a superficial review. Money for most is fickle which is why many rely on the word of others to help make an informed decision. Their actions are callously inconsiderate and driven by greed.
When I wanted a new chair, I just went to staples and sat in every single one until I found one that was comfortable. I ended up getting a lazy boy office chair and it’s so comfortable. I’ve had it for 3 years.

@slavestudios47 Chill, mate! It wasn't that crazy.
@slavestudios47 this is how those tiktok kids be talking these days. "the math ain't mathing", "the gasp I gusped"
Thank you random chair guy. Should I ever need a new chair I will definitely be checking out your channel first!
is this a sponsored comment?

@gehtdinichtsan309 nah its not. there is no clear description of it being sponsored

The shady only "do the right thing" after they have been exposed. HA!
@aaronw2773 opsie moment
Damn I hardly watch this kind of stuff except for when I think about replacing my chair which I inevitably don't end up doing. But who knows how many channels like this I gave traffic to without knowing that they were hiding sponsorships. That sucks

Talk about damage control
Lot of these influencers are literally just running modern day shopping channel, pretending theirs 15 minute ads are "reviews".
Behind are the days when you would go to RUclips to see actual product reviews because written reviews were just bot-lists... Now YT with the help of AI is basically the same thing with background music and sound.

That affiliate money is just too lucrative for creators to decline
Well.... Where there's money to be made, people will make money...

Yeah, you start getting some views and all of a sudden you have companies offering you money and products. Money corrupts, not just YT
Honestly idk why a video about chair tube drama was recommended to me but I'm here for it
lol, same! 🤣
Chairtube🥀🥀🥀
coffeezilla would be proud
@andrewsamoil6259 who cares who he is proud of, that dude is annoying af
@Ryn0_333 you must be a scammer
@Ryn0_333 you're a weirdo.
@Ryn0_333 "I was a big fan of Coffeezilla until he reviewed my office chair review."
lol, I was literally just thinking of Coffeezilla as I watched this
I can't believe I'm witnessing a Chairgate unfolding right before my eyes!
😂
Unfolding like it's a lawn chair.
second Chairgate I've seen
(the first was shortly after Reggie Fils-Aime left Nintendo and people saw how bad the chair in his office was and then requested Nintendo give him a better chair as a going-away gift.)
We have Chairgate Before GTA 6! 😂😂😂
11:14 Canadians catching strays in an office chair drama video 😭
It's so weird to find out there was office chair RUclips drama. Like that it was even possible in the first place.
Same here!
Loving all the funny comments here. They're killing me. 💀
i must know what your profile picture means
Its more a sponsor Drama...
Nothing weird about RUclips reviewers being scummy
"We got chairgate before GTA 6" head ahh
Bro woke up today and choose violence instead of an office chair
He chose to expose people.
@John-Smith02 fair, but violently as this things should be
and I appreciate him for it
Someone needs to! It's almost impossible to find an honest review of ANYTHING on the internet these days.
Holy shit you cringe virgin. Not every person, place, thing, location, animal, cloud, tree, and idea is "bro"
We don't need every sentence to be "bro (restate video content)"
Algorithm shows me scam content and I find the best chair reviewer by accident.
chairzilla
@aruniiiiiiiii sitters nexus
Crapzilla is a fraud.
Sitboga
Megaleg
chair nexus🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Literally massages you while you work I had to partner with libernovo on this video” that doesn’t even make sense lol
@esoteridactyl fr
LMAO I laughed so hard
I thought I misheard him. So he was just speaking gibberish lol
Massages mind control you into creating sponsorships apparently.
He meant he wanted to get a massage so he had to partner with libernovo, poor sneaky guy
They really thought they could just sit on these secrets forever. Glad someone finally pulled the seat out from under them.
@fr3shSwag no pun intended...
I don't even care for chair reviews but i'm subscribing to this guy just for him choosing violence and exposing these bought youtubers.
I don't know why the algorithm suggested a chair review channel but I'm glad it did. Not because I'm after a chair but because this is a fantastic video. Definitely sub-worthy.
Taking care of your back is important
why would you sub if youre not interested in the chair niche? thats why channels be having dead subs...
@7oeseven793there is saying it’s “sub-worthy” and not that he subbed but I understand that it implies that and that’s annoying to have dead subs
@7oeseven793 Youre not real😂
Maybe the robot overlords determined your chair is causing issues you might not be aware of and is gradually steering you towards a chair upgrade. This is a video about chairs, this is not a video about chairs. Well done, much integrity
12:28 loool that view graph looks like he realized he didn't buy enough view bots at first and went back to buy some more.
TIL, you can buy "view bots"...
@marctronixx that has been a thing dince forever lol
@marctronixx you should get off the internet. It's not safe for you
@RodolfoGeriatra brotha lm learning everyday. i just found out you can BUY bots to follow you and post on your page!!!! shut the front door!
@marctronixx are you new to the internet? They've existed for over 20 years. People were view botting on twitch when it was Justin.tv
so glad i searched chair recommendations 3 years ago, now I can tune in to the chair drama
@kevin3495 lmfao exactly
If a RUclipsr partnered with a company giving the viewers a deal it be cool but instead they just put a hidden affiliated link to earn of the commission then that's shady and immediate lost of trust for me
I don't even need a chair rn, I'm here for the drama 😡
@twinrixone5295 same lol. shady marketing PMO
On god bro me too. I'm just here to guzzle all the tea
Same! LOL!!! Better than cable TV
Thank you for calling out these shady practices
It's not shady it's illegal lol.
Came to watch the drama, left with a lesson on affiliate disclosure.
watched the full 16:25 cause i thought you would add something in the end as a wink to the video XD
@Scimy-rs same lol bro’s just throwing shade at us completionists 😂
Snippyyyy
This video is actually 16:26. You missed the last second where he did add something.
I'm gonna be honest, whenever I see a link in a description I assume it's an affiliate link
Yeah at this point you'd be dumb to just give some company free advertising.
Everyone does. That complaint is a huge nothingburger.
or a rick roll, it could always be a rick roll
@louisverges7092it's a legal requirement. They are breaking actual laws in their country of operation. You as the viewer might not care but the legal system does.
If they're good enough to make legit money, then why bother being disingenuous by avoiding mandatory legal disclaimers?
Me too. But they still have to disclose it
Can’t lie this is when I usually back out or zone out (13:36) so I would have missed the paid promotion ad on UrAvgConsumer video
LOL literally just switched video at the 16:09 mark. Had to remind myself to come back and stay til the end
did not expect this channel to kick asses as well as seat them
😂
The fact I know and somehow feel slight surprised BTODtv is involved, means I might need to head outside a little bit more.
I'm not. They've been doing stuff like this for a while. They're not just a channel. They're an ergo office furniture company. They sell rebranded chairs and desks and run attacks on their competitors on websites like LTT and reddit.
BTOD have been shills for a while now. Its nothing new
i actually stumbled across a tiktok live with one of the btod guys, the dude with the mustache, shilling cheap terrible chinese scooters from tiktok shop. this is not off brand of them at all
@WalkMrJ Ok I'm postponing my grass tour
@WalkMrJ they run attacks? lol LTT is as big as a company as BTOD, lets try to not make it seem like they “beat up” smaller channels and companies lol
I have never watched chair content before. But Goddamn, this chairman does do some spicy investigating.
To be honest nowadays, If there is a link to a product in someones description, I default to assuming its an affiliate link.
Yeah, same here, it’s disappointing that that assumption is both faster and accurate more often than not.
Sometimes I add non-affiliate links if the product is good and it’s not sold via portal with affiliates. But if my links are affiliates it’s clearly stated!
Also, I ALWAYS understand "Partnered with ..." to mean sponsored by or they're benefiting financially somehow by showcasing the product.
@tbh3291 100%
This isn't just drama, this is business facts. Why would anyone care? Integrity.
It's wild to think "office chair community" is a serious phrase lmao
Big money space.
Someone plz archive this vid for when it inevtibly gets copyright struck and taken down.
@joell1999 Who would copyright strike this video? Not LiberNovo, since they were clearly cool with this guy being unbiased about the chair.
The creators called out in fhe video (and have clips of their videos videos shown)
@kalayojackIt'd be frivolous. Pointless. Especially when it's clearly fair use (educational).
@notlNSIGHTyes because that's stopped people in the past from false claims
@BrancoFXDCAll I'm saying is that despite how broken RUclips's copyright system is, it would take this guy's side.
I thought this when this video came out, but I've seen these channels before when looking into chairs and was really irritated that they were clearly being shady and not disclosing sponsorships. Props for calling them out.
Today I learned I need to disclose affiliate links so thank you for that I'll get on it
I do that always on my tech channel @AestheticLina
Finally, chair drama in my feed
Never buy from an affiliate link. Never... ever!
And install a good adblocker and tracker blocker.
@_SurferGeek_ I've bought from one affiliate link, once. It was Sensei Seth, and he earned it over a long period of time.
8:10 comment of the whole video. 🤣
@MrDamonLeBeouf yes😭😭
Honestly, huge respect sticking to your name of being honest Ahnestly.
How to know if a product is crap or a scam: sponsors dozens of youtube channels, all doing "yo dude i really use this product or play this game"
I didn't even know it was mandatory to disclose affiliate links considering the number of youtubers not doing it ...
My instinct was telling me something ain't right, when watching them, now it makes sense😂
Wait, what? You have 110 videos and 200k+ subscribers and have no idea about this? That is some A level ignorance.
@s75again acting like everyone is aware of every law. get out of here lol
Am I the only person that doesn't just automatically assume that all links in a RUclipsr's description are affiliate links?
Dang....i never been on this side of youtube
Should've known if keyboard, headset, pc and monitor can have review channels, why not a chair...
I have no issue with sponsored videos, when:
The normal usual youtuber bollocks... 2/3 of the platform is basically this, undisclosed advertisement.
the real issue here is RUclips, they know exactly what's going on but turn a blind eye as these scammers line their pockets.
Chair drama was not on my 2026 bingo card
leave 'bingo card' in 2025. you don't have a bingo card. *eye roll
@rabbitttzYou have no authority on this after using "*eye roll" we left that shit in 2012
Imagine being fortunate enough to get paid to merely review products and being so greedy to hide sponsorships, not disclose affiliates, and bot views.
Welcome to RUclips!
@anorax001more like, Welcome to the Real life
I mean, he probably wouldn't make it otherwise. He is "fortunate" because he is morally bankrupt and cheats
@IntoTheFilter Botting views isn’t even worth it, because they disappear like mist after around 2 to 6 months, give or take.
Imagine giving af. Good product but bad product don’t simple
nobody told me I could literally sit down for a living
You think this is good? Imagine the mattress review channels...make money while you LITERALLY sleep.
@Ahnestly when's the 2nd channel coming out bro you'll make bank
Naw bro, this idea is for you. Remember me when you become the mattress mogul
Yeah uraverageconsumer ain't so average anymore lol
@jsuwangsa it’s been a bit since I’ve seriously watched him but I was disappointed to see him do that.
@jsuwangsa He hasn't been in a very long time.
He’s sucked for a long time
looking at his videos, damn he must viewbot all his videos seeing tons of videos with crazy view to watch ratios.
His name never described "average". I rarely saw videos of products that were just moderately priced. Most products were expensive.
uravgconsumer is such a weird name for a rich guy who gets his stuff for free
@vada952 he probably was when he started out
@vada952 was AVG when channel started
That’s because he’s not the average consumer! He claims he makes review videos for “your average consumer”!
Fr. Watched some of his stuff for a bit, but pretty quickly stopped when it was all super unrealistic. Ended with a bad taste in my mouth and now I know why lol
@vada952 he used to be 15 yrs ago
Holy he buried a youtuber from being average to trenches levels
Sponsorships have ruined RUclipsrs. Can't trust anyone. RUclipsrs, Streamers, Gamers, everyone cheats and lies these days for views. Maybe it's time the entire industry hides view counts.
This is why those RUclipsrs should get a real job
@AM93000 Yeah fully agree
There are plenty of honest people doing honest reviews. It is entirely appropriate to call out dishonest people.
It is disingenuous to say oh well never mind because "everyone cheats and lies these days."
Most people do not cheat and lie and there is no excuse for those who do.
I've always respected this channel...but this is GOATed. Well done
The fallout can already be seen on one of the channels. Comments getting turned off on videos and descriptions wiped from them as well. When making good money isn't enough and you just have to have more and more...
@mediocrmedic Which channel so I never follow/watch their content?!
Which channel?
Name and shame!
I’ve noticed I rarely ever see a UrAvgConsumer video anymore and Matthew Moniz is even more rare…. Guess now I know why. Crazy…
4:21 “like a handful of freaks” 😅😅😅😅😅😅
The key is to follow youtubers who are OPEN. I started my channel specifically because I was tired of PAID youtube.
TBH you tube income isnt great, so I rely on Affiliate link usage... but i also TELL people when im using them and where.
Furthermore I have made it the LAW of my channel to NEVER take sponsors... Tell yourself, if the "reviewer" is being sponsored for the "review" is it a review? I tell companies, you send I review... that's the end of the agreement. And TBH I buy a LOT of the stuff i review, especially the expensive stuff
I get offered money a LOTTTTT from companies (which i turn down), clearly there are other youtubers my size or much larger who DO take money
The "everything in this video is my opinion but I will give evidence to back them up" gave me MegaLag vibes. Love it 0:51
@kyuuchiugaa doesn’t even make sense to me. dudes laying allegations in this video and supporting it with evidence not giving an opinion you feel me
@philipellington doesnt wanna get lawsuits
@philipellington I mean he could be wrong about view bots…. Most likely not but could be
@4@450M3.7yeah that’s why they are allegations. you ever see a journalist report allegations about literally anything and then say “everything in this article is my opinion”? obviously not that sounds dumb asf even if they are wrong they don’t get sued because slander, defamation, libel, take your pick, don’t apply in these journalistic circumstances if you’re reporting clearly labelled allegations
2 things can be true at one time
I don’t know how this showed up on my algorithm but here I am.
Thank you for your ahnesty and authenticity / Ahthenticity.🥰💞
(edited-Thank you Multi for the additional pun suggestion 🏆💡)
I think you mean Ahthenticity.
@MultiMustafa7 love it! I’ll edit my comment. Brilliant 💡
@Lexi.Lexical authahnticity?
@obvious_humorlove it 😅
I was looking for this comment
I can’t believe I never knew that I needed this channel in my life. You rock!
This definitely deserves more views.
As someone who has never even watched a chair review I still watched it all the way through.
I have always admired and respected not only your content, but the quality and integrity that you bring to your channel.
Thank you for shedding some light on this.
I love this guy, he's honesty is oozing
I hate corruption therefore I'm opting out of these crooked channels mentioned... Thanks for the video mate.
Ahnest about chairs and ahnest about chair reviewers , the meta is strong
Popcorn cooked, awaiting the drama.
The chair situation is crazy
Not the slightest did I expect bro to re-surface on my feed this way
W catch man, thank you for catching this & putting light on it. Really need to be careful with reviewers nowadays
11:07 Bwahahhahaha Moniz to lazy to make a deacription and just AI copy paste it.
RUclips court is in SESSION! love this honesty and evidence.
PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG
Wow holy crap - Dan Ahn coming after the big boys. Thanks for your work on this one man. When people are about to spend large amounts of money on things that impact their health, and as the economy gets worse, honesty is critical.
And those so called big boys should be held accountable . Many of them have a strong ego and think they own youtube… when youtube has become their “career”, they should follow rules
Bro this is my favorite video from you so far!!! You did your research and went off!
I love that THIS is how I find out about youtube chair channels. Also kudos for having such integrity around this situation. It's worrying how many people are happy misleading their followers for money.
This video is important not just for people who want a chair but for the entire RUclips community. Bravo, well done.
Ruh Roh Raggy!
Now we've got office chair drama. This is insane 😂
I’m glad you called this out. I left the tech scene a couple years ago because I found myself buying things left and right because of stuff like this. But I do not regret my embody chair because of you. Love it
I slightly regret mine cos it seems you get at least 70% of the chair for literally 33% of the money in my region.
I am happy to have bought the libernovo omni after having viewed the reviews of your channel only. Keep up the good and honest work. You literally may have saved my back by getting me of my old chair.
I'm really glad the algorithm pushed this video to everyone. Its a very well made exposure video.
9:01 made me laugh so hard lmao
Awesome video, I don’t typically leave comments but this video deserves praise. Thanks for bringing this to light.
