    Jack's line is so metal. The others can imagine what the hunters will do to Ronald, but she knows from experience what people who lost their sanity and are extremely angry are capable of.

    It's nice to see someone posting all variations of Mass Effect things again. It's been awhile since somebody did that. This is one of the things I've been dying to know the variations of. Hopefully soon, I will find the last two variations I've been looking for, for awhile.

      I'm almost done with the main story of ME2, so I'm wondering which exact scenes are you still hoping to find? I mostly focused on different squadmate reactions and showcasing all the various interrupts throughout the game, so I'm aware I might have missed covering some side quests along the way.

    • @1fishmob

      @@EmilyOnGames Both are from priority Tuchanka in ME3 actually.
      The first is when you reveal the sabotage to Wrex, AFTER you tell him "the korgan weren't ready for a cure" on sur'kesh. There's plenty of videos out there showing you Wrex's reaction when you told him "I regret that choice", but not for the "renegade" option.
      The other being when you save Padak Wiks. We have the renegade variation available, but no the paragon version.
      I always found the krogan to be the most interesting race, and those affiliated with them.

    • @EmilyOnGames
      @EmilyOnGames  11 месяцев назад

      What a coincidence - I was just recording some unrelated footage from ME3 and just so happened to trigger the Wrex confrontation on the Citadel. It turns out that he can also bring up what you said about destroying Maelon's data back on Sur'kesh.
      I'm not sure when I'll get around to properly covering ME3 yet, but I'll definitely make note to look into the dialogue you mentioned on Sur'Kesh and Tuchanka as well.
      The krogan do seem to have the most fascinating history of all the ME races, and a unique culture that resulted because of it.

      @@EmilyOnGamesI also just realized, there is also telling Mordin that you're not interested when assumes you're attracted to him. LOL.
      Honestly, I could never bring myself to watch or witness Wrex's betrayal. I feel like it's a lot more personal for him because he had to watch a cure, a hope for his people, be destroyed both times.

    Damn, every single squadmate approves of violence. That's how you know you messed up, when even someone like Tali agrees.
    Also, I find it absurd abandoning him is the neutral option, while "shooting" is renegade. One is over in an instant, the other will leave him to suffer who knows how long. Which of the two is truly worse?

    • @quentincoetzee4313
      @quentincoetzee4313 Год назад +3

      Maybe the instant option is considered renegade because it leaves the survivors without any closure. Ronald Taylor put them through hell for close to ten years, and he suddenly gets to nope out on his own terms and deny his victims any semblance of justice? I can see how the rescuers giving him that opportunity could be considered a dick move.
      And sure, the abandonment option might seem like the more brutal choice, but at least it gives the survivors a chance to exact some form of revenge for the horror they've endured.
      Also, while they're denied that same opportunity for payback in the 'secure for Alliance court' option, the tradeoff there is that Taylor's crimes become known to the galaxy at large, and he has to do a massive amount of time. So that way, there isn't mob justice, but there is justice, so that softens the blow from being denied direct revenge. The 'shooting' option can look to these survivors like it doesn't allow for any sort of justice, mob or otherwise - he just gets to make an exit when the prospect of facing consequences for his actions comes up.

      And with the paragon route, there's a chance that if taken out of the setting, he may come to see how hollow his rationalizations were. In real life, Jeffrey Dahmer saw the error of his ways while in the Gray-Bar Hotel.

      Another thing that has since occurred to me: For me the most compelling version of Commander Shepard is a paragon with the Colonist and Ruthless backgrounds; i.e., s/he learned the hard way, through the meat grinder of Torfan and a subsequent guilty conscience that revenge isn't all it's cracked up to be.

    • @EmilyOnGames
      @EmilyOnGames  Год назад +7

      Yeah, but since they went with the whole "Shepard's morals are my morals" when recruiting her, maybe Shepard would've had to be the one giving her the order.
      There were a few moments like that with special dialogue options for your party members in Dragon Age 2, would have been nice to have them here as well.

    I just got done playing this mission and I decided to let his victims have at him with the neutral option at the end. I came to see if you'd done the other squadmates comments and you blessed us all with this lovely video.
    That wonky punch with that sound effect caught me off guard and had me actually burst out laughing. Such a serious moment where Jacob finally shows SOME emotion and his father goes from disgruntled/irritated to accepting his fate with sadness and then just.... WHAM 😂
    I hope making these videos is enjoyable for you because I (and dozens of other people, surely) am hella reaping (lol) the benefits from them.

    • @EmilyOnGames
      @EmilyOnGames  Год назад +2

      Yeah, looking back, just a fade to black as the creepy music was playing in the background would have probably been enough to convey the message. Clearly they didn't want to miss out on using the classic Bioware punch animation haha.
      I'm glad the videos are useful, as I too still end up finding stuff that I've missed during my many playthroughs while making them.

    Something just occurred to me. If Javik was on this mission (I know he's ME3 but bear with me here), I can imagine him proposing an alternative: Ronald Taylor can only go free if he can fight his way through his feral crew members... bare-handed. If he wins the fight, he's earned his freedom (even if Jacob and Shepard immediately throw him to an Alliance court afterwards).
    Or maybe, in a cruel twist if the squad was feeling particularly vindictive, they fly away while Ronald is busy fighting the ferals. But on the off-chance he emerges victorious- wait, where's the shuttle? And why has the distress beacon been destroyed? Yep, if he survives, he's all alone on this rock in the middle of nowhere.
    So that's what it feels like Javik would do if I pictured him on this mission: Paragon Javik having Ronald Taylor earn his rescue by fighting the feral crew in unarmed combat, while Renegade Javik destroys the distress beacon and leaves Ronald Taylor to fend for himself on his own, with dwindling pure food stores and no other presence on the planet, so sooner or later he's gonna have to eat the toxic food.

    After doing this mission I ask if it’s possible to fail the mission and not get Jacobs loyalty because I’m planning for my renegade playthrough to get him, Miranda and all the Cerberus operatives of the Normandy SR2 killed

    • @EmilyOnGames

      Whatever final choice you pick, you will always get Jacob's loyalty. So the only option for your next playthrough would be to skip this mission entirely.

      Just realized that if I put the wrong squadmate for the wrong job they’d die so I’ll instead do Jacob’s loyalty mission and have him be the tech expert while I’ll just side with Jack when she argues with Miranda
