And to all of those who say modern cars aren’t safe, that compact Mazda 3 was the smallest thing involved and it held up very well. They’ve been proven wrong.

Who says modern cars arent safe?? Lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, back up cameras, 360 cameras, side air bags, parking sensors a lot of this stuff wasnt on cars 10 years ago hell 5 years ago
ChuChuTrain Usually old timers who still prefer gas guzzling 4 barrel 460ci Continentals and Oldsmobiles with lap belts and no crumple zones, ABS, Stabilitrac, Dual stage air bags, Collision mitigation etc. Many of those older cars don’t even have head rests, let alone active head restraints to prevent whiplash. There was a time period during the 70s 80s and 90 when compact and sub compact cars where really death traps because they lacked safety cages, crumple zones, decent restraint systems and collision avoidance features of today’s cars but thanks to the IIHS, other global organizations, and teams of competitive engineers working globally, traffic fatalities are way down compared to 20 years ago despite there being more cars on the roads.

@@NinjaPickups personally I think that stuff makes cars LESS safe. It's making drivers pay less attention to the road because if they mess up they know the computer will fix it. Cars have come a very long way in terms of saftey and all like ABS and crumple zones but all those "electronic grannies" are making today's drivers less attentive. But that's just my 2 cents.

They dont need 400 people to give a report. The cops usually just make their own assessment anyway. They dont care. Thats how I got fault for an accident where a person ran into me from behind while I was at a stop sign. Idiots, I had to go fight it.
@@Baka_Oppai that's why a report is always important. I got into a three car reck and the cops try to blame the whole thing on me. They took 5 minutes to make up my report. Over 10 people stop to help me and they all saw I didn't cause the crash. The cops lie to me when I ask them if they got a stament from at least on of them. Luckily I recorded the whole crash on a 911 tape. I was able to to fight them with evidence but , it would have been helpful if I had a witness report.

The first time i stopped because of an accident i saw i got scarred for life. The side of an old mans head was torn off by his seatbelt. All the skin from above his ear down to just above his jaw line was ripped off just hanging there
That really sucks man, good job at stopping though. I was hoping that nothing like that had happened and was relieved to see everyone walking away after that tow truck basically ate the mazda.

That was not a Camry, it was a Mazda 3. This is where you have to thank the IIHS for making cars so safe these days and no longer 80s explosion and 60s no restraint/crumple zone cars.

I'd rather a decent crumple zone when compared to something where it would just not have any at all.
Bear in mind that the guy in the back of the mazda seemed (at first glance) to be ok. That shows that the crumble zone did it's job, it absorbed the impact instead of letting the actual cabin crumple and injure / trap the occupants.

I'm not sure if you're aware that teleportation is not a thing yet and fuel needs a way to get from the gas tank in the back to the front where the engine is which is usually accomplished with hoses that can come loose.

I commend your response and kind-heartedness. People gotta remember that accidents happen. You definiteIy did the exact right thing. I must give you a quick pro tip, though. In case you ever witness an accident like this again and you're not on a busy highway, try to keep the occupants in the vehicle where they are unless it is visibly on fire. If there's smoke, its usually the airbag/from the impact. Most cars won't combust after an accident unless it's electric or if it's a high speed crash. The reason why they should stay is simple. Neck/back injuries are common, and even minute pressure can create immense harm. As long as they stay inside, the medics will carefully assess the situation and look for injuries before extracting the passengers from the car. On a highway, its different because they could easily be crashed into, which is why you did perfect. But on a normal side street, keep the occupants within the car until EMS arrives.
Crazy. Thankfully, it looks like it's just a bunch of burst radiators leaking that fluid, no imminent threat of gas fire.

@@allannelson10 Physics, look closely at the video, you're see that the Mazda's rear guard (long beam underneath the bumper) was not hit, it can still be seen intact, so the height difference between both cars was so big that the weaker part of the car absorbed the impact, if it had been hit, since it is much stronger than the body and energy transmitted to the cabin would've been much higher. For example if it had been hit by a car similar in height (say a Corolla), the other car would've been able to absorb much of that energy.

one of my friends got in an accident on December 13th last year. he slipped on ice on the highway and rolled his truck about 3 times. he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and so he was hitting everything in the car. when people showed up, they couldn’t get him out. he ended up passing away on scene because of how much blood he lost. he was only a senior in high school. however, it was people like this guy right here that made it known to him that they were there for him and made sure he knew people were trying to help him. it’s still crazy to think about. rest easy sterling🙏🏼

First time I ever saw a car crash actually happen it basically scarred me for life. Happened about 4 or 5 years ago, while I was still playing little league. The field backs up right to the highway, so it basically outfield then a fence then guardrail and highway. Now this particular spot was prone to accidents, since it was basically a fork in a highway going in 2 different directions, so people making last minute decisions had a hard time getting over. Anyway, during a baseball practice, we had been seeing all kids of limos and rolls royces going to the local prom. Then about halfway through the practice, we all hear a screech. There behind us, on the highway, is a black chevy tahoe sliding against the guardrail. After sliding against it for about 20-30 feet, the car starts to turn then ends up on on its side. Then comes the scarring part. The car does about 2 or 3 rolls, but on the second roll, the girl who was driving to prom with her boyfriend, not wearing a seatbelt, goes flying out the window about 15-20 feet in the air. She was dead the second she hit the pavement. Hey boyfriend you may ask? Only a few scrapes and bruises, and you guessed it, he had his seatbelt on. At this point my baseball coach is hopping the fence and get up there to help them. So when he comes back asking for a blanket, my 11 year old self says maybe the person that flew out was just cold? Now I understand. Lesson learned there. always wear a seatbelt, and also, thought it does not apply to me, do not drive in high heals.

Airbags deploy in minimal to severe frontal crashes. Side airbags deploy at minor to major crashes. They work well together with your seatbelt. The ford didn't really need if for the front.

First, to those saying you shouldn't move anyone in an accident, you're absolutely correct. Some were already getting out of the Mazda and the 2 in the back were talking. So in the moment, bad decision.
Secondly. To those saying I should've stayed for a report, I had no info to give since I didnt witness anything other than pieces flying into the air above a few cars in front of me.
Due to my brother getting hit on his bike. We now use 4 wheels for our adventures and are filming those now. Thank you again for tour support and subs, you're amazing! Offtrak Expeditions(No Adventure)

This stretch of I-5 in the Burlington area (Washington state for those curious) is notorious for crashes, especially just north of and south of where this accident happened.
Marysville to roughly Mt. Vernon/Burlington is a scary drive( a lot of tailgating, speeding, weaving etc.)
Me and My parents went shopping and there where these old couple In front of us,Later a teenager in his motorcycle was on full speed and crashed with the old couple,the couple were a little hurt but the teenager flew in the air and landed somehwere unknown,There was blood everywhere!!! My dad tried to help the couple but they wouldn’t speak up,As my dad was trying to help , the cops came, we were trying to find the teenager.We found him,he flew about 79 feet away and the cops put a white blanket on top of the teenager,In my state whenever there is a white blanket,it means the person is dead,We saw the body and I was terrified,The teenagers skin was almost torn off and he was bleeding so much! I cannot forget that moment.
Nice seeing people stop and help also calling help as all should do that seeing a accident! Or not they all have to help when seeing a car accident!

I Remember when i was 5 and my Mom was practicing how to drive and She Was Like so scared of driving and then when she was praciting she hit my friends house no one was hurt but there was ppl in DA HOUSE she wouldnt wake up for two hours she didnt go to hospital but im glad shes ok :D
My moms 2017 Ford Focus SEL Oxford white fully loaded sedan got rear ended. Fire truck ran through an intersection in front of her and caused her to slam on her brakes and the guy behind her was to close but then hit her car pretty hard because my mom said her neck was hurting and she was getting whiplash. He pretty much shot her car pretty far even though her brakes were on and she had her pedal on the brake. The guy who hit her didn’t want insurance or police involved and pretty much paid 2-4,000$ worth of damage to fix her cars rear bumper. The rear sensors and back up camera were still working but it looked bad at the same time and she was ok. This was almost a year ago. I got into an accident myself back in May of 2018 when I had the last week of high school coming to school I was coming down an intersection when I had the right away and it was a busy street that day and cars who went across intersection had to stop first but cars going straight forward or the other way on a 2 lane road we’re right aways. Company van shoots out across right in front of me and he thought no one else was coming from my side of the lane but he was found at fault and said he called the cops and waited for 20 minutes and no one came so I called them myself and got someone to handle it. The guy who was at fault for my accident, he was a joke. I had told my mom he ran into me and he was like I did? I said yes you did. I swerved to the right and ran into him but my car has drivers side damage but the car still works and everything and no airbags deployed either. Just hope that both of us are still alive after that. My mom is almost 41 and she’s been driving for like nearly 30 years of experience and I have 2-3 years of experience. I’m almost 19 and already in college.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that the silver SUVs airbags didn't deploy? It's leaking antifreeze, oil, ATF, and possibly gasoline it looks like but yet they didn't deploy. Brings a whole new meaning to Found On Road Dead I guess. Glad to see everyone was able to walk away from accdient tho

Anytime you're in a car accident like that you should let them know they should go to the hospital or their doctor to get checked out I was in a car accident I felt okay but two hours later my whole body hurts so bad I ended up with a fusion in my neck from 2 herniated disc in my neck

No Adventure one time when my mom and my sister where driving a jeep got clipped by a semi and rolled over . Everyone stoped and I could not believe it. My mom ran over and and another guy help her pull the man and his dog out of the car. The man was ok but his dog ened up dieing. The emergency people would not help the dog saying "It's not our job". By the time animal rescue doctors got there it was to late his dog died.
Slipped down in a roundabout a few days ago, before I was able to lift my bike and get of the street a woman behind me honked at me for blocking the road...

Thank you for stopping. Sometimes the worst crashes people walk away from without even a bruise. I stopped for a bad crash before and everyone was fine and I saw it coming before it happened. I can't see something happen like that without making sure everyone is okay. makes you feel better knowing

I think I can see why, airbags have 3 sensors on the front, one in middle and one under each headlight normally, the crash has to trigger at least 2, the impact mainly looked centeral and the edges bubbled away where the sensors look like they should be so one sensor may have only been triggered.

This shows you how tough trucks can be. That gray Ford truck appears to only have the bumper messed up and literally smashed the back of the Mazda3. And the Expedition supposedly hit the back of the Sienna, which looks more smashed
