If you thin the drywall compound a little water, and work it 90 degrees to your prior coat, the pores will become very fine, like high thread-count linen. Apply thin coat, remove all with a knife or trowel.
Everything is going so well! The purple makes that red look so much deeper and warmer, and the handles are gonna look great in that washroom! Chip, what is happening to your ears, you crazy thing??? Also omg Bailey! I have a huge soft spot for rescued dogs (my Percy was too) and I can totally sympathize with you, it's almost impossible to let them go after you've spent so much time getting to know them and making them feel safe and loved. I'm sure she's so so so happy you guys are looking out for her.

I worked carpentry at a Job Corps center on the Canadian border in Washington State 45+ years ago. It was -20 and brisk winds as we were halfway through a foundation pore. Tarps, construction heaters, prying wood apart with prybars... good times.
Garen and Ellie, you are not in a race. Working in the cold... when you know it's going to be warmer in a day or so is just masochistic. You 2 really did look cold. Great color in the kitchen. Watching Bryce and Moms banter is hysterical. Those 2 are conspiring to conspire about something. And after watching Bree and Shae move the paint color to the desired end... I was fully impressed with their musical talents. I did not know until my daughter told me today. Who knew?

Purple is the color for old ladies... so I been told by my Mother in Law.. There is a book that says , When I am Old I will wear Purple". I suppose it works if you past 65... smile... Lavender is a soothing satisfying color. It reduces the desire to eat, so if you are not actually hungry, you are less likely to eat if your kitchen is a pale lavender color. So good job in getting a Lavender kitchen. :D

You guys are so much fun! I love your little homestead and your animal menagerie! My husband and I built a house ourselves (when we were much younger) but it was a traditional Cape Cod and it is interesting to see a whole new way of doing things!

The puppy looks like Gizmo!! From back in the early 80's, around the time when puppy pounds came out! I did my sons bedroom in puppy pounds, bedspread n curtains n dresser scarfs! It was cute!!

Fun fact: pink use to be for boys (hotter, energetic) and blue for girls (calmer, colour of Virgin Mary) but they switched some time around the 1950's. But either way, purple is still in the middle of the two. (Although I would call that colour lilac. Slightly more pink than blue. ^-^)

Y'all have made building an earthbag room look so do-able. I am going to start with a gardening shed or root cellar, something that I don't have to live in if it doesn't stay weatherproof. I used to work in a cabinet shop and we used mainly birch plywood for cabinets that weren't special order. We called the frame on the cabinets that you attach the doors to the cabinet "faces".

Make sure you use rockwool and a painters spatula to stuff insulation in between doors, windows and walls, no expansion and no damage.

Hey guys and gals, I've been following your channel for a while now and really like your content. The closeness and harmony of your family is quite inspirational. There just isn't enough content like this on RUclips. Concerning the cabin, I was wondering if you have plans for the outdoor kitchen frame? I was thinking if you build earthbag walls part way up on 3 sides and roof it like a gazebo, you could put bar tops on them, set up an appliance island in the middle and it would be super cool. I do however know that whatever you do with it will be just that. Super cool. Be safe while working and thanks so much for sharing.
