- In today's world, it's hard to imagine a home without gadgets, and as we know, all gadgets come with remotes. A television, air conditioner, music center, gaming console, and even lighting in some cases can only be controlled with a remote. The problem is that these remotes have a tendency to disappear! Sometimes they're hidden under a pillow, or they fall between the armrest and the seat of the sofa, and at times, they are even in another room. To stop searching for remotes all over the house, I decided to sew a special organizer. But not just any organizer - one in the shape of a sheep!
When I was once again looking for the TV remote, I urgently decided to create a designated spot for storing them. Why not make something convenient and fun so that the remotes are always within reach? After seeing a picture of a similar organizer, I was inspired and decided to create my own "sheep."
For this project, I used scraps of fur from old jackets that no one has worn in a long time. The plan was to make an organizer with four pockets for the remotes. The organizer attaches to the back of the sofa, and to make it look playful, I decided to shape it like a sheep - complete with a head, tail, and legs.
The main part is a rectangle that will attach to the back of the sofa. For this, I used two types of fabric. I sewed the legs on both sides. I made the rectangle with a lining to make it sturdier. On this rectangle, I placed four pockets. I crafted the pockets from fur to ensure they were soft and visually harmonious with the rest of the design. I sewed them on both sides.
Next came the head of the sheep. I sewed a small oval cushion from fur, filled it with soft stuffing to give the head some volume. Then I made eyes from felt to give the sheep a "face." The ears were made from leftover fur, soft and slightly drooping - just like a real sheep.
My sheep turned out to be not only practical but also cheerful. Its legs hug the back of the sofa while securely holding the remotes in the pockets. It added a cozy touch to the room, and most importantly - no more searching for remotes! Now everyone has their own spot, and my "sheep" is always on guard for order.
If you have a sewing machine, a little time, and some old clothes that you no longer wear, I recommend trying to make something similar. It's not complicated, budget-friendly, and the result will surely delight you!
Wishing you all the best!
