100% because of his knee braces. if you slow it down his left leg goes straight out to start running but gets stuck and you watch him get whipped forward. very lucky to not hyper extend his knee or tear anything. also shows the physical condition he is in to be able to handle that. un real!

I love how I said he would do this years ago and push the sport even further and I got called stupid and was told I know nothing. Well look at him. Check the names he is in the company with. He is no normal kid and he WILL find a way to get faster and faster. Words can’t describe how proud I am of a kid I’ve never met. I can’t even imagine how great this must be for Brian. Of course the rest of the family but this is something Brian loved and was invested in before the family even existed. To see everything come together and his family all find their own success and love for life is incredible.

Brian had said it many times, more than anything, he wanted a factory ride. And, had he got one, we probably would never of received Metal Mulisha, the battle/push for progression with Pastrana and a whole list of other things. Maybe it was fate that he didn’t make it in motorcross.
But to see his son accomplish all the goals he had for himself right out the gate must be second best.

What so many haters don't want to admit is how hard Haiden works to be at the level he is at. It's not by mistake or miracle. He pushes the limits of his bike, the tracks, and himself every week, and trains like crazy on non-race days. He's learning and improving before our eyes, very literally. We all get to go on the journey with him as a result of these amazing videos and family moments that Brian and his family have been sharing with us over the years. I love this family as a whole. Very supportive of each other and nothing but love for one another. This sport is not easy. Having the endless encouragement that Haiden has around him I can only imagine it must be a huge help to push beyond any rough motos and any mistakes. Getting the red plate as a rookie is just insane! Keep up the great spirit and mental toughness, Haiden. There's a reason you have so many fans who are thrilled to watch you compete every week. You're the real deal man. It's a joy to follow your journey! 👍🏼🏁

I am a big fan of the Lawrence brothers, they are clearly the best two riders currently. But Haiden has put himself in the position he is in right now. He defiantly deserves it because of his consistency. Justin Cooper, RJ, , Hunter and a few others may be faster, but they have not been consistent and have been getting themselves hurt or having bad starts, etc. (Hunters was purely bad Luck though).
It is exciting to watch Haiden because anything could happen. I think one day you will see him doing what Jett is doing right now.

He might be less than self crediting , saying oh I got a gift etc - but he’s in the right place at the right time , Doing a Fantastic job. It’s called Capitalizing on the events. Mx is clearly the best sport in the world and Haiden is one of the best. Way beyond expectations and you can’t argue with results.

  • @hookwaddell8102

Loved watchin Brian @ X Games and now Haiden. This kid has always had the skill and as a champion every time he touches a bike, drives the competition CRAZY and they always have to find a reason that Haiden won this or that. Not because he’s a beast, but bc if this or that. No sir, Haiden is a pure champ. He just blends with the bike. Haiden is gonna be the one that the other riders chase. NEVER have I seen anyone wreck like he did in the second Moto, get back up, lift the bike back up and back riding within 5 seconds, to get a top 10. Haiden kills the corners like no one I’ve ever seen and that’s where he gains A LOT of ground. Brian and Marissa have got to be so proud, but especially Brian has got to be one proud pop with Haiden, Hailie and Hudson all following his dreams. Been watching Haiden for quite a few years and I just love watching him climb through the ranks and do what we all know he can, but surprise the competition. Love this kid. His bday is the same as mine, Jan. 10th, so that’s a cool date and one of the reasons I started watching him race. I think he was 11 or 12 when I started watching. Go get em, bud. You have such a bright future.

People always say how Southwick is the hardest track because of the layout, turns in relation to the elevation changes but most of all the sand/soil make up. Having grown up and rode almost exclusively in Southwick, I never felt this way. Maybe it’s because I learned how to ride in this soil but I’m glad I did. It makes all other conditions seem easy.
The same can be said for our snowmobile/snowboard conditions. Once moving out west, the mountains and trails felt like it might as well be a paved highway.
Thankful to have learned in the worst of worst conditions. Haha

I know it must feel amazing to be number one since Southwick! You should feel right back at home with all that winning you were doing as an amateur. Who knew you'd be right back on top in the pros so soon! I hope you're soaking it all in...the feeling of being number one as a pro.
Now, it's a matter of channeling all the hype you feel and the chip on your shoulder to keep the plate. All you have to do is be even more determined to simply be better at everything you've been doing right. The battle to keep that plate is one to become the most focused, sharpest, craftiest you.
You can't defend that plate with pure passion and aggression. You must defend it with wisdom, self mastery and focused execution. If you nail your goals every weekend and race against your own personal bests, you won't get tripped up by the red plate. You want to use it as motivation to never loose your cool and to be even more focused on key areas like starts and not overriding the track and becoming less efficient.
Wear that plate. Don't let that plate wear you.
Awesome job at Southwick for you and the whole team!! You had to grind it out for that points lead. Once again, you kept your composure, set the pressure aside and executed the smartest strategy. This level of competition is where you belong. It keeps you focused and motivated. So just know having that plate is all a part of your personal destiny and where you should be no matter what anyone thinks.
One smart and tough race at a time. You CAN extend that lead. Have no other intentions but to figure out how to do so every weekend and then making it happen.
Congratulations on a historic rookie season so far!!!

Amazing to see his accomplishments thus far. Way out exceeded the families expectations, his fans, competitors and the haters. However shit just got real acquiring the red plate regardless of the way he earned it. And yes, he earned it by being in the point race where he is. the 250 class is stacked. Im sure as honest as the family is they would not say this was a goal. It is an unexpected gift and they will keep lining up every race as a learning experience. No need to over ride to try to hang on to the red plate. If it happens it happens, but stick to the plan. Do your best every moto and continue to learn. The future is bright young fella!

It doesn't even matter that he is a rookie. Haiden is a star already, I will confidently say he is a future champion due to his talent and insane work ethic. He has an amazing family behind him which makes a difference. Props to this family, there is a reason they are all successful. And it has fuck all to do with money, that is a result of their hard work and commitment.

Finishing 6th overall as a rookie in a race that might end up being the toughest conditions all season is a win in my book. Congrats on the red plate, don't put too much pressure on yourself to keep it. Keep that same attitude you've had and it'll all work out. Good luck this weekend.

While on paper it's your worst race (which was still damn good) and it probably wasn't what you wanted, you still finished well even after crashing twice.. if that's a bad day and that's what you salvaged, then these 'bad' days are the rides that win championships. More importantly, it's your first SouthWick... this track is absolutely brutal on man and machine, besides Tom who's raced GP's at Lommel, i cant think of many guys who have done much better their very first time here as a pro. Ricky has never lost an outdoor title, he lost 24 races TOTAL in his entire outdoor career, and even he got waxed his first year here...Granted he never lost again here i don't believe, but it's almost expected for rookies too struggle a bit here, atleast compared to the rest of the tracks... Dilla can be tough too, and the roost suuuckkks, especially behind a 450. I know you've ridden here as an amateur and while it's smart and great to learn the layout, the type of sand, and it's base, the pro national might as well be a totally different track ... it gets so much more rough, the way it breaks down and the way lines develop are entirely different, it's just a different beast and I feel like this year was a lot rougher than last too
While my opinion doesn't mean much of anything, i thought you did very well, and like I said, if finishing well inside the top 10 and getting the points lead at the same time is considered a bad day at the toughest round of the season, then that should be a compliment. Throw in a couple of 'good' days and you might just hold this to the end. You've been off the podium, what, twice now? I don't think anyone else is consistent enough to catch you in points besides Hunter.. I see them gaining some then handing you back even more.
You're only getting better and gaining more confidence, and while I give Hunter the edge because of experience and having just a bit more speed, it's going to be up to Hunter and which version of him shows up throughout the next 5 rounds...We know which version of you will show up, it's always the same one.
Last year at SouthWick was where his season went to hell in a handbasket, quick. He got landed on, then the ball just kept rolling the wrong direction and he let Jett walk away with the points without a challenge. Even Sushi caught fire here and caught Hunter in points, i thought he was going to be much better than he has been this year, maybe this is where he gets his butt into gear..it'd be nice if he could get between you and Hunter and steal some points for you. Hunter has to come back next week and either win, or atleast be on the podium, IMO. If he has another bad round, i could really see it snowballing out of control for him. I don't know if it's pressure or what that causes it.. from the outside it seems when everything is going right, he's insanely hard to beat and mentally strong, when things start going wrong even when it's out of his control, he starts riding a lot worse...Whereas his brother after his bike blew up at RedBud, it pissed him off and lit a fire under him.. He can't seem to brush it off like Jett. I also think he's a whole lot more beat up than what he's letting on too. I don't think the pressure got to him in moto 2, i think his body was done the second moto. Next week will tell us a lot from him, infact, these next two rounds before the break are going to be crucial for you both. If you can steal points from Hunter these next two rounds and really fight him if you two get into a battle, I think you could potentially put the pressure on Hunter and hold it through the last 3 after the break.. and I'm saying that as a Hunter fan. If I'm honest, i want him to win so we can have two brothers win every title together in the same year, well, outside of the 450SX title.. it'd make history two brothers winning both 250 and 450 outdoor title. At the same time, I also want to see you win it, a rookie hasn't done that in forever... Maybe Villo was the last 250 rider to win his rookie year? And the good thing if you do win, an outdoor title won't cause you to point out after having only 1 year too defend, forcing you up early.. i never did like that in supercross. It sucks for guys who win their rookie year, you need more experience than just two seasons... No matter what though, this year is a massive win for you all around, you've exceeded all expectations and stayed healthy. Hunter is leaving next year and I think you've solidified yourself as the guy to beat next season. 2nd in supercross and you will either win or take 2nd outdoors, to the guy who's a veteran, a champion, and leaving to the 450s...You'll only be better next year, more prepared physically, you'll know what to expect and how each guy races, and the bike will be better next year after having a full year of racing and data on it. That alone puts you way ahead of the game, you'll have a really good race proven base setting going into testing for '24 (I dont think the '24 YZ250F is a new platform, is it?)
Also, I know you've been apart of social media since you were a kid, but being a young guy, it still has to suck at times reading some of the shit people say... Just don't let negative people get to you, you've killed it this season. Yes, there's been some rookie type moves on guys a couple of times, but that happens to everyone (you just have the worlds biggest microscope on you). I swear, people must not remember RC or James as a rookie, talk about some bold moves lol. That's just how you learn and grow as a racer..Besides just a couple moves (which worked out fine), you look and ride like a veteran whos been a pro for years.. You make smart decisions and you're willing to settle at times rather than push for something that's probably out of reach anyway, only to crash and lose a lot more points in the process like so many other guys do. It takes a lot of maturity and self discipline to realize that and override your brain and turn that mental switch off, rather than just hold it wide in a hail Mary attempt, especially at your age. Sorry for the rant, probably won't even read it, but if you do, keep doing what you're doing and you'll be constantly winning races and take home a championship atleast by 2024.

He's been on the box 4 out of 6 rounds. A second, 2 third places and a win at Redbud. That's why he was in position to get the red plate. Not bad for a 17 year old Rookie that is still growing physically and mentally. I mean he still cant reach the ground on his bike yet . The kid is killing it. The best part is I was at Redbud and got to talk to Brian and I told him Haiden would get his first win this weekend. I also got a pic with Brian in front of the press box and Duff by the Yamaha Rig

Our sport is kind of a magnet for sad, hurt young men whose parents' selfishness has done more harm than they are aware of or willing to admit...
That hurt seems to come out when sitting alone online and seeing someone do what they would love to do.
All of us battle with pride; consequently, this beast is satiated on the track while others by pretending to be "experts" in our sport.
Right now, you can use them as a motivator but be careful to pay too much attention to them, for when you hit a slump, these people can become a real weapon...this is where they feel empowered and emboldened to double down.
Also, some of that soundtrack with the heavy metal dropped my IQ by 7 points... It's a miracle Brian survived those days with a brain... exhausting crud.
