I built this deck for Tristan. I spent a lot of time with this man. I saw him doing some painting a few times, but I never asked to see his art. I really feel like I missed an opportunity of seeing goos talent and amazing art… 😅 I might knock his door one day…

During Covid I started dabbling in watercolor. I fell in love with it. This year I have had so much loss of loved ones and friends and I haven’t been able to pick up the brush again. I miss it ❤

How did you actually teach yourself? I'm trying to learn too.

Initially I read practically every watercolour book in the library. Obviously there's a lot of online material but that can be distracting. I recently started life drawing to improve my skill level. But nothing beats regular practice and trial and error. Embrace the mistakes and failed paintings from the pov of what you can learn from them. Oh and buy the best quality paper and paint you can afford; cheap materials will hold you back. Good luck!
